Horrible school and worse faculty. I attended Cisco concurrently with another, larger college a few years ago and had a horrible experience with Cisco. Fast forward a few years and someone else in my family attended and the issues were largely unchanged. Everyone in the financial aid office needs to be fired and replaced with individuals who want to do their job. They cant tell you what youll owe for a semester, wont assist in filing financial aid AT ALL, arent capable of providing answers to even basic aid questions.Next, the instructors for some of the courses are not just unhelpful, they are bad teachers. If people wanted to just show up for a test, theyd sign up for online courses. The instructors dont cover material that assists in actual learning and they pride themselves on trick questions (which is a big no-no in real education courses). It doesnt aid in learning and has actually been shown to hinder development through numerous studies. Teach good courses and have good easy to understand exams and Cisco likely wouldnt be the laughing stock that it is.I realize the school cannot afford to hire the best and brightest, but that should preclude them from hiring decent instructors. Saying Im not going to cover what is on the exams, you have to study too, isnt an effective teaching strategy. Yes, students have to study, but to then throw out trick questions that ultimately need to be thrown out after the exam is taken does nothing for paying students. Hopefully Cisco improves in this area, but it hasnt happened in the past 10 years, so expecting it to happen is a pipe dream. Good luck to future students.

The lady at the front desk was very pleasant. She has helped me get the information I needed for my son to attend school in the fall. That was no problem. Trying to get in touch with people from the Financial Aid office to speak with anyone is an issue. Cisco has been very slow about the whole process when it came to letting us know if his application was accepted. Now we are just waiting to here about the Financial Aid part, plus scheduling his classes. Will there be online courses due to Covid? What do we need to do to get him signed up? And plus I have my own questions about my own FASFA application too. My course is supposed to start next week. So where do I go from here? Cisco really needs to do a better job with their communication skills. Got me wondering if its a racial thing or what? All I know is someone needs to contact me ASAP! Has anyone else had these kind of problems with Cisco? It wasnt like this in years past. Now they just dont care.

Administrations is a JOKE! No one knows what their doing and their system for helping students is obscured.I waited over an hour & a half to be called into financial aids office, after faxing the paper work they needed over a week ago. When getting in the office the lady was RUDE, non-caring and useless. She told me I needed a degree audit and didn’t even direct me where to get one. After finding out I needed one for the counselor I was told I had to put on an over hour long wait list AGAIN, then “hand” her the paperwork.I have already enrolled in 5 courses. My degree audit is general studies which they knew. But made me wait with my 3 year old daughter just to sit with me for 5 seconds and give me rude pointless information which could have been faxed to me.This is the first time happening but this is NOT the first time I’ve had to work with RUDE financial aid counselors.I thought they were there to help students succeed. But instead, belittle them and are the most unhelpful people in that entire school.

I recently graduated from here, and I loved it. Ill miss this place when I continue my education elsewhere. If youre a vet, youll be in good company, and the VA coordinator, Barbara, is amazing. If youre thinking of using your GI bill, do it. Do it now.

Most incompetent and lazy admissions and financial aid staff of any school Ive attended. On the brightside Deborah and Barbara are great and will bend over backwards for you.

This is by far the most disappointing college experience I’ve had. The staff is rude, impatient, and not nearly knowledgeable enough (miscommunications or misinformation is ABOUND in the financial department). On top of all of this, they’re impossible to reach over the phone and incredibly slow by email, and they’re usually so confused that it doesn’t help, anyway. The teachers, while nice enough, do NOT KNOW THEY’RE SUBJECTS. There are sexist comments and inappropriate discussions for a classroom. I spent two semesters here, half of which my days went to battling “processing” paperwork, inability to reach their limited, ignorant staff, and paying more than I should for classes that aren’t actually in session half the time (that actually happened; a teacher actually told my English class that we would only meet for half the scheduled time). I will not be coming back and I suggest not attending in general.

I WENT TO CISCO COLLEGE FOR FIRE TECHNOLOGY 2 AND IT WAS THE COOLEST, NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN LEARNING. NOW I WORK FOR SIGNAL 88 SECURITY AND IT MADE ME VERY PROUD TO KNOW THAT CISCO COLLEGE IN ABILENE TEXAS TAKES THE SAFETY OF THEIR STUDENTS, STAFF AND FACULTY BECAUSE NOT ONLY DOES THE CAMPUS HAVE AN ON SITE ABILENE POLICE OFFICER BUT THEY HAVE ADDED NIGHT TIME PATROLS AFTER HOURS FROM YOURS TRULY WITH SIGNAL 88 SECURITY AND IN ADDITION HAVE ALSO ADDED MULTIPLE CAMERAS TO ENSURE THE INTEGRITY OF THE PRIVATE PROPERTY OF THE STUDENTS WHILE ON CAMPUS AS WELL AS THE CAMPUS ITSELF. CISCO COLLEGE IN MY OPINION IS SAFER THAN ANY OTHER, AND WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO LEARN NOT TO MENTION THE TUITION IS CHEAPER.
