I had a facial with student aesthetics there and she was super nice and I had a such relaxing time while I was there. All staffs are professional and super nice! They do customized consulting and facial observation before they start, so I felt trusted and calm. The building was clean and stylish as well. I want to try their hair bar and other services like waxing too! Highly recommended.

I got my hair cut this morning and had such a great experience! I usually am super picky about my hair because it’s so long and thick and have spent hundreds of dollars at high end salons, but I needed something quick and cheap so I scheduled an appointment here. The student who worked on my hair is named Cindy, and she was fantastic. The instructor (I think her name was Callie?) checked her work along the way and talked her through the process. I felt like i was learning alongside her! Another student came to double team the blow drying and she was fantastic as well. Everyone was kind and professional. It did take a solid 2 hours, but it’s important to remember that while this is a salon, it is a school first and foremost. It’s going to take longer than your normal appointment, but for an $18 haircut and a really cool experience to help someone practice their new skills, it’s more than worth it! I’m scheduling an appointment to get my lashes done and I can’t wait to try all the rest of the services here!

Great space to pamper you hair, face, and nails. Before and after color was amazing. Great customer service and individual attention. I love the products offered for natural hair. Weeks ago I did a big chop and today was color and edge with a style. Loving the new me!!

Rose did an excellent facial and I was totally relaxed and refreshed. The overall processing was a little unorganized but for a student client I was pleased with my service and will return.

Mrs. Connie is a very fun, intelligent teacher. She knows how to communicate and teach adult learners and always encourages us. She is understanding as well as stern. She makes SBA a warm, welcoming place to walk into. The 4 times Ive been to the school, shes made sure to greet whoever walks through the door. I believe that is an important quality in any establishment. The salon itself is very clean and pleasing to the eye.

Horrible experience. One person says they dont have appointment for tomorrow, then another one makes an appointment for tomorrow. I come in they say they dont have the color I need, never mentioning it the day before. I tried to ask why they didnt mention, because I had to rearrange my whole day to be here, they say they will not do the service ever. Very rude and unprofessional. A frustrated client.

Having worked for a trade school in the past, I believed that they were all the same. SBA was the one and only school I contacted because it was close to home. WOW. Was I in for a surprise! I received an EXCELLENT education that went way beyond the basics and truly prepared me to be an esthetician with a solo practice. From my first encounter with Kriss Lamar who gave me full and complete information and a lovely tour of a beautiful facility and for the following 7 months until graduation, I was never disappointed. Before I decided which school I wanted to attend for the Esthetics program, I made sure I toured a lot of schools in the DFW area and did my research. SBA was the last school I toured, and I immediately knew from the vibe I got that this was the right school for me. What sets them apart from the other schools and programs in the DFW area, is they teach the most advanced modalities in the industry, and they really value their students getting as much hands on experience as possible! After I toured, Kriss the admissions counselor, sent me a personalized note in the mail thanking me for coming. Miss Cinda is the BEST teacher Ive ever had including grade school. I graduated from SBA in 2017! I am now a very successful business owner and I can say that SBA set me and all of their students up for success. Every person I’ve talked to in the industry talks about how undesirable their esthetics education was and I do not feel that way whatsoever. It’s been extremely nice as the book work is the hardest part for me, and this allows us to take it a little slower. Mrs. Connie has made us feel like a big family even though we are stuck on zoom. Making hands on activities for the boring book work. She has us live in every chapter to help us retain the info. She is an amazing teacher, loves her students as if they are her own kids and will definitely be a life long friend. Salon Boutique Academy is a Sassoon school so you get advanced training to help jumpstart your very successful career. Cosmo school kits are known to not be that great but the owner of SBA Leah is sooo amazing as well she has made sure herself that everything that comes in our kits is good quality!! A year ago I posted the paragraph below. Today I am here to give you an update. I graduated and passed the exam to become a Licensed Esthetician. Salon Boutique Academy was the best choice of esthetician school in the DFW area. The school is very professional when it comes to the teachers, financial aid office, admissions etc. The school is theory but also hands-on. They truly prepare you for the real world and go through many modalities. If you’re reading this review and wondering if you should attend here, the answer is YES!I would like to say this school has been very professional with my admissions process. After reading reviews below I was a little hesitant about the school, however I did not allow that to stop me. Kriss has been very professional since day 1 of speaking to me via text and over the telephone. For those of you wondering about admissions, please have your own experience :-) I will be following back up with an update once I began school and going through the program.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!My office is really close so I stop in all the time for various treatments. From spray tans, eyelash extensions, every kind of facial imaginable, blow outs, cool sculpting(!!!), waxing and getting my hair dyed- they do it all.While it is a school, everyone is extremely knowledgeable and there’s always an instructor overseeing. I’ve never had a bad experience! Best yet? The treatments are SO much cheaper so it won’t break the bank and you can 3 or 4 different things for the price of one anywhere else! It’s all clinically grade machines and products so it’s an incredible deal.For those considering going through the program, I can’t speak from experience but every student I’ve talked to has said how much they love it. The ones I’ve worked with up until their graduation always have a great job lined up too!!Overall: Treat yourself (while giving your wallet a break!) or take the next step in your career!

I absolutely love this school! Such an amazing and encouraging environment to be in. All of the instructors want to see you achieve! Before I started attending this school I was looking into so many other schools for a part time cosmetology program and nothing really worked out between those others school but Kriss was such a huge help from explaining the curriculum, touring the school, and just going the extra mile to make sure this school was the right place for me!

I attended The SBA Esthetician program, graduating in August of 2018, I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school and the staff! I am so great-full to Kriss, the day I called inquiring about the school, she was just so welcoming and genuine! I wanted to go to this school but your director is so rude and unprofessional made me change my mind. She made me feel like my question wasn’t important at all,how rude. She has a nasty attitude and I truly believe if she answers all her phone calls with a nasty attitude she should be removed!!!!!!!!!! People are trying to further there education and that should not be a future student impression of a rude director. I will go somewhere else where there is professionalism!!!!!!

What can I say, Salon Boutique Academy really helped me pass the TX State Board Exam. I graduated from cosmetology a long time ago, and no schools would help me with a refresher. I drive past here everyday for work, So I decided to make an appointment to have my hair cut and colored. The salon was clean and professional looking. I was immediately greeted and my stylist was right on time. Super friendly and welcoming. I have long hair and i was wanting to do full dark brown color over my highlights. They didnt have the exact color I wanted but they found one really close. She did a great job for me wanting to go to such a drastic color difference. The cut was perfect. The instructors were always right there if she ever needed help. I will be coming back here for all my future services. For being a school it really didnt feel like it, it felt like a real salon.

When I want to feel beautified,I go to Salon Boutique in Addison. Just this week I had a facial by Carson. My face was glowing afterwards and felt amazing. I have also had highlights, hair cuts and styles. Kudos to Kriss and Tamara on leading our future Estheticians and Cosmetologists in achieving the clients needs and wants. Great Job!!

Visited SBA for the first time for a haircut and partial highlight--very impressed with the results. The partial highlight was perfectly done--you wouldnt have known it was a partial it was so beautifully blended into my existing highlights. The haircut was exactly what I had asked for--couldnt be happier. I will definitely be returning for future hair care...everyone was friendly, committed to superb customer service and talented!! Would definitely recommend to my family and friends.

I went in for a custom facial for Rosacea. Caitlyn did an awesome job. It was the first time I had a facial without a reaction. Caitlyn took the time to explain what she was doing and why. Definitely going back.

I visited Christa to get a facial today. This was my first time getting a facial, so I didnt know what to expect. Christa sat with me while I filled out paperwork, asked if I wanted water, and took SUCH great care of me! She made sure I was comfortable the whole time, chatted with me, and was a huge part in making the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing. I would definitely go again!

This was my first visit for root touch up and hair cut. I was greeted by the friendly staff. There was a confusion about my appointment that was set up by texting but the instructor reassured me that she would take of it. I was appointed to Sadie the student.... she was very nice. Root touch up, cut was supervised by instructor Anna Alicia who made sure all was done in a professional way.I was very pleased with the service. Came in for color (purple), long process but great results! Brittany did what was expected, she asked for help when needed. Do wish teacher was more available so that we didnt have to wait on answers to process questions. Salon was clean, all personnel very friendly and great atmosphere to be in although a long day it didnt seem that long.. Love my color came in better than expected!

Was attempting to obtain information regarding the cosmetology program and unfortunately Kriss the admissions director is a bit rude and unprofessional I did not even make it to the tour. Please do not mistakenly request information from the website more than once it’s apparently an inconvenience to the director lol she is not welcoming for that to be the first point of contact .

Went with a friend to check it out and am so happy to report it is a great place to get hair color, cut, facials, microderm etc at great prices and many times free. We all like those prices. But really the instructors are great, the place is clean, clean, clean. All are eager to please and friendly.

This is a very nice place for an inexpensive plethora of services: Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Just remember that they are students and may take a little longer but are observed and checked by instructors.

This place the worst service Ive ever experienced. After they decide they have room for me in their schedule they take me to a chair to get my hair styled. They were not cutting, coloring, or anything. Just styling. The student didnt get what I wanted done so she kept changing styling tools to curl my hair. After the second change I explained that this was not what I was going for and showed her pictures. She suggested to ask her instructor.When the rude instructor arrived (Same guy who couldnt check me in with a smile) he tells me he cant give me the look Im going for because my hair is oily. I told him to touch my hair because it wasnt oily but he refused. Then he told me he couldnt do my hair because I was late. I explained the miscommunication and said he made time for me to get my hair started then why not finish. He then had the audacity to tell me I had to leave because I was late and he didnt have time to CURL my hair!!! I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life! I go over to my friend who was getting her hair dried and tell her what happened. He then told me I couldnt have that conversation on his floor and requested I go outside to even talk. Mind you, Im not yelling or cursing, just stating the facts. Of course I didnt pay anything bc I didnt have anything done. Instead I leave with my hair looking crazy.I then called the salon and spoke with manager Tamara. She takes my complaint and tells me she will follow up with her instructor and call me back. She agreed that I NEVER should have been asked to leave after they started on my hair. She says that never happens but she didnt even have the decency to call me back after many attempts of me calling the salon to get an apology. This was after I made clear that I needed to know why I was treated that was because this level of disrespect is not common or known to me.Terrible salon. Terrible service. I hope that instructor gets fired.

After spending 4 hours in the chair, I ended up with red hair and it was lighter at the roots than the ends. I just came in for touching up highlights highlights and asked for no brassiness or red. America was my stylist. The instructor gives the students bad advice and then deny it. I came in a second day for another 4 hours but Im still going elsewhere for them to fix it. America was also passive aggressive...she turned the water to the hottest it would go after I hear the instructor say hot is bad for color. Passive aggressive again, she didnt cut my hair right. I asked for an inch off and layers and she cut a few hairs here and there and said she was done. Total of 8 hours there and Im going elsewhere for them to fix this mess!

The management here is very racist as we were Asians and they thought we dont understand the language .Next came the facial ( dont know why they call it a facial ) . It felt like someone did a daily morning scrub and that too with just finger tips . No force applied whatsoever . Didnt touch the nose entire time . A scrub was put on the face in name of Face Pack .And didnt even clean face at the end . They need a new instructor as the current one has done a pathetic job . Me and my husband both were dissatisfied . Please save yourself some time / money and do not ever go to this place !!! Wish I could give zero stars.

Salon boutique academy is a professional and very educational school! And now they have classes in Spanish for Cosmotology and Beautician! I graduated from here in June and it was a great experience for me! The teachers are great if you have questions and need help they are always there to help you with everything. The products we use at school are excellent and better than other schools I visited before applying here! And the great and very professional director Leah helps students who graduate to look for a job. You cant choose a better school!
