Love the atmosphere and professionalism of this gym! As someone who was new to BJJ and a women I felt welcomed and at home among the members. The teachers are attentive and help you thoroughly when learning new movements.Also, the owner was very understanding and helpful when it came to membership holds during the bulk shut down period of the pandemic.10/10 would recommend!

The discipline is challenging and humbling and while it is a combat sport, you more often than not leave feeling more peaceful. I have only been going a couple weeks but I am addicted. Pat is amazing. I like the small class sizes and gym size. Everyone I have meet here so far have been so nice and everyone wants everyone to learn. No egos. I don’t feel overwhelmed or judged. Amazing workout and amazing people. I am never on time for anything and I am early for these classes. It’s easily becoming my favorite part of the day.

Just started training BJJ. I couldnt think of a better place to do so. The instructor is very knowledgeable and knows exactly how to reach out to the students not only giving classes but by giving private lessons to students as well. From the beginning, Eddies goal was to improve the bottom game in MMA. He was tired of seeing world class grapplers being taken down and pounded into submission. The first thing Eddie did was ditch the gi--a kimono worn by traditional practioners of the gentle art. Instead, he developed a system of clinching (i.e., using overhooks and underhooks) to control the opposing combatants posture and work for the submission. No longer would grapplers used to engaging in a clothing tug-of-war battle on the mats be frustrated in their attempts to control shirtless, sweaty opponents hell-bent on unleashing a furious barrage of strikes upon then. The 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu system, which is still developing, has transform the way jiu-jitsu is used in MMA as well as the sports and self defense aspects.The Springfield location is truly a blessing to this area. I began training there with no prior experience, and everyone welcomed me in right away. I was blown away by how kind everyone was. Even when we were rolling with full intensity, most people would explain to me what mistakes I was making, allowing me to progress much faster than simple trial and error would. I have been a member at 10th planet Springfield since it first opened. The head instructor pat campagnola has done an amazing job with this school. I have been to different martial arts schools all over the country, and the environment at 10th planet is the most welcoming I have seen. The school has a wide range of students with different goals and reasons for training, and classes are geared towards everyone.The school offers numerous fundamental/beginner classes for someone who has no prior experience. The school also has a wide number of students who compete regularly in competitions and do extremely well. Pat regularly competes, travels to train with other affiliates, and holds seminars at the school all geared toward helping his students improve. 10th planet is a unique evolving system of brazilian jiu jitsu and this area is lucky to have a school like this around. I would highly recommend checking out a class!

I had an odd experience to say the least. The teacher was knowledgeable but the class environment was different. Not really my mind of place to train. I had trained at 2 other schools and never had a problem. One of the guys had an ego trip with me and told me he could have ripped my shoulder out. So it was pretty weird LOL. I do respect the teacher for reaching out to me and apologizes. It doesnt really disreaguard the fact that he was not paying attention. The technique is defintely on point.

My son currently trains here, we came from another bjj school, now my son looks forward to going to class every time, that speaks volumes of coach Pat and his crew.

A great place to train in self defense, sport jiu jitsu, and personal growth.
