I recently moved back to Akron after being in Canton for 4 years. I left a property with two acres and a large barn which means I had plenty of room for projects. Now that Im in a much smaller space I wanted to find some place where I could possibly borrow tools and have the room to work on my many ideas. I knew about the Akron makerspace and figured Id give it a visit. I was really blown away by the facilities they have. They have a good sized and well stocked wood shop, a very decent looking metal shop, welding facilities, and plenty of room for electronics laser cutting 3D printing and crafting as well as electronics. The price is right at $35 a month plus small additional costs for using the power tools. They also have plenty of potential to make the space even better as they continue to make improvements. Also, as a bonus there are two breweries downstairs! Its pretty hard to beat

Amazing place! Andy Buzcko & Bob Hasenyager facilitated an awesome tour of MakerSpace. Gives me great hope for folks in the area to have easy access to technology, training and tools which to millions of others is just a dream. Thank you to Andy, Bob & all others who make this facility and workshops possible.

Its the kind of place you wish existed when you were nine and had all those dreams of building treehouses and rockets and time machines. Only now it does exist and youre much smarter now so maybe you can finally build that time machine!Chock full of tools and machine and resources. People are very friendly, very respectful. This is truly an adult playground. My only complaint is that no one told me about it earlier.

A great group of dedicated folks with knowledge and the willingness to help each other. Lots of different kinds of tools are available as well as some materials, depending on what youre looking for. Lots of different classes -- welding, jewelry making, crafts, etc. The workspace is pretty messy, but... thats kind of what its there for: so I dont have to make a mess at home!

Great community-oriented place with pay-per-session, hands-on lessons, and a monthly membership fee if you need to work on any long-term projects. I learn something pretty much every time I go.

I was looking for a place to learn and share a hobby interest in micro-controllers and general electronics ... Oh but you can do that and so much more at Syn/Hak! Everyone I met was generous with their time and knowledge. If you are looking for a place to learn, or to share your knowledge, check out Syn/Hak. I think youll like what you see and become a member as I did.

I founded SYNHAK. Got banned from it three years later when I pointed out transphobic jerks on the board. They are *NOT* LGBT friendly or even trying to be inclusive. The folks here will harass you, require you get permission to do anything, and send you harassing text messages if they get your number.Stay far, far away from SYNHAK.
