So far so great ❤

My son has Down syndrome and is in kindergarten. The last day of school was supposed to be filled with happiness for us. Instead it has been horrible. Today my husband went to drop our son off. My son patted a little girl on the back and said hi. She ignored him. My husband told my son its ok buddy she just doesnt know you. She flips around and says oh I know him. He is gross. So gross when he touches me I have to wash myself for 5 days straight. My husband walked away while she followed him saying how gross my son is. And asking if my husband wanted to know all the reasons he is gross. All while in front of a teacher. I called the principal and received immediate defense mode. She said to understand the little girl is young and that I shouldnt be upset. It isnt considered bullying until there is multiple documented incidents. My son struggles with verbal communication so he could have been being bullied and I would never know. But my guess if she felt comfortable doing this in front of my husband it wasnt the first time. The principal then said its the last day of school. What would you like me to do? We will be open enrolling somewhere else next year. It makes me absolutely sick how this situation was handled. All of these suicides going on from bullying, hopefully the school has multiple documented incidents or it doesnt matter!

This school has went way down since the new principal. She has no patience and is extremely rude. The office secretary is so rude and unprofessional. They really need to screen their employees better. She looks like a recovering meth addict that lives in a trailer park. Im so glad this is my childs last year at that school.

School is really nice. Principal is great! Mrs. Hardman, kindergarten teacher, is a very good teacher. The parents and their kids is another story. Ellet schools are definitely not what they used to be. Thank you low income housing!

I liked this school when I went here. I go to Hyre CLC now. Im in the seventh grade now. The food was not the best but it was eatable. I Miss Hatton!

I saw the 1 star rated review from azus scrambler and i cant live with that. Apparently this is someone who knows nothing about Hatton CLC.1st of all Hatton has never been on Wedgewood Dr, it has always been located where it currently is dating way back past when my parents grew up in the 1960s and went to school there. It has never moved, only been torn down and rebuilt for our kids and the future students. Hatton excels in a lot of programs with the kids in the APS district. This being said a lot of kids are open enrolled in Hatton from different districts. I dont totally agree with it, but families wanting a better education for their child I do agree with! But I think APS should look at the schools these kids are leaving and build their programs and kids up so they excel just as the kids at Hatton do! Not just allow the parents to open enroll their child at a different school cause one is better than the other.2nd, yes there is a fence around the perimeter of the school! Yes Im sure it helps keep the kids contained during recess periods and outside activites. There is NEVER a kid climbing that fence and falling to the groud while a parent our faculty member is watching. The kids know to stay off and inside the fence!Hatton is one of the many top rated elementary schools in the APS district. Please dont let anyone tell you otherwise!
