Southern Dance Arts brought me incredibly close to music, dance, and some of the most important & inspirational people I have ever met. Jans creativity is unlike any other. Her spring recitals are not the traditional sort: they are all original, unique, & incredibly artistic. I dont even know how Jan comes up with such sensational performances. They are spectacular.Competing for Southern Dance Arts was such a joy and an honor. The memories I have from this place are unforgettable. Im so grateful for the opportunities I had at this studio!

We enrolled my grand at Southern Dance Arts for her first year of dance. It was awful. For most of their rehearsals, the younger students watched the older students of the competition team practice. The younger students didnt practice ... they WATCHED the competition team practice. Considering the amount of money we paid, I expected them to teach her something. They didnt even have an air-conditioned room for the younger students and my grand has asthma. The cost of their fees, plus the recital fee, the cost of the dress and the fact that we had to PAY to get in to the recital was ridiculous. When it came time for the recital, we found that the owner pt her own grand in a position that she was in nearly EVERY portion of the recital and she really wasnt very good. There were dancers that would have done the job much better. The recital was horrible. I cant even imagine why this woman is still in business. We did not enroll my grand for this year and instead, enrolled her at Corky Bell Dance Studio. They are amazing! She learns at EVERY practice, she is part of a larger class, they include costumes for the recital (plural ... there are two costumes) and they had photos done professionally, which is something that Southern Dance never offered. The parents are allowed in the building, which is air conditioned and can watch practice on closed circuit TV. They have parties for the kids at holidays and its much more friendly atmosphere. I am so glad that we switched over. I would suggest that you take your child to Corky Bells instead. You will get much more for your money and you wont have to deal with the over-inflated ego of the owner, which you will have to do at Southern Dance.

They made me a great dancer its sooo fun there and they made me a much better dancer thank you Ms Janis and Ms Ashland.
