Kiddie Academy has been amazing for my 2 kids! Their curriculum is fun and engaging and I feel so comfortable leaving my children in their care. The owners are easy to reach and easy to talk to. My preschooler has also had amazing opportunities while at Kiddie Academy including summer camp and different sports options while at school. I would highly recommend Kiddie Academy to any parent looking for child care in the capital region!

This daycare was amazing! They took great care of my daughter! As soon as she started, she began making huge developmental leaps. She struggled at drop off at first, but the teachers were patient and kind with her every day.

The facility is clean, warm and welcoming. The management is okay, but the teachers are AWESOME!!! They use the Tadpoles App and the teachers send me pictures throughout the day and it is comforting to see my daughter is okay. My daughter has stranger danger but they are very welcoming to her and not just her teacher has taken an interest but others too, making sure she is okay and they always say high

So far My child is happy and loves the class and large play area. The activities are great and I am happy with the teachings because they coincide with my home schooling as well.

I like kids are exposed to a variety of multiple learning experiences, in a safe, clean environment with very good teachers.

We did not feel safe and secure leaving our baby here. The daycare seemed unclean and the babies understimulated. They did not follow their sick policy and babies were brought in when sick, which spread the sickness around. The staff was very unhappy because there was a new owner and I heard the workers always talking about it when I was picking up my child. The owner is unprofessional and very unhelpful. There was constantly new staff in the infant room, which is stressful for the babies. They also allowed older kids to run in to the room without washing their hands or taking off their shoes. Workers and parents walk around with their shoes on in the room which is gross for the babies. I would avoid at all costs. Kiddie Academy used to have a good reputation, but things have changed. We were there for 1.5 weeks and that was too long.

When I visited the center I was not pleased with the way the management talked to the staff in the hallways. My granddaughter attended the center and had 3 different teachers in 3 months. I wouldnt recommend kiddie academy to anyone. It seemed more business than a loving family atmosphere.

We only went to Kiddie Academy to view it for our first child, who was yet unborn. I was pregnant at the time. They were very quick to return our call when we requested an interview but when we arrived, we were semi-greeted by the director, who did not even introduce herself to us. I only discovered that she was the director after the fact. Considering that we were potential parents (aka, potential customers), we were slightly miffed that were not made to feel more welcome. We were taken on a tour by the assistant director, who was not very professionally dressed. In fairness, I realize that while taking care of children, no one dresses their best. However, being well groomed is something I feel is professional no matter the profession. We were taken on a long tour of all the other levels of childcare, from toddler to preschool - which was very unnecessary considering we were interested in the infant program (which I had told them at the onset). Then, we were lead to the infant room, which was extremely small, and limited with regards to resources. It felt like a trip hazard. And the two staff appeared overwhelmed. Furthermore, while we were touring the other areas, I noticed staff standing around nonchalantly while children (toddlers) were going about their business. It wasnt for us and we never even had a second thought as to considering it for our child.

Firstly, we absolutely love KA! I feel 100% at ease leaving my children with the staff at this facility. Owners, Steve and Lauren have an open door policy and are always happy to take the time to speak with parents and give updates. Director, Jenn is very hands on and always takes the time to say hello to every child and really gets to know them all on a personal level which then helps with their education because she is able to address specific needs as needed. Not only are the staff members amazing teachers, they have also become friends over the years. Every teacher I have had the pleasure of meeting has shown an interest in ensuring my son is comfortable in their room and addresses specific educational needs during his different developmental phases. My son is polite, happy, energetic and excited to go to school and learn every day. While I would love to take all the credit, it is his teachers and school who really get him excited to learn. The owners often put together events for families which is awesome! I love having the opportunity to attend these events and speaking with other parents, teachers and seeing my child in his element. He is always so happy to show off his artwork and show the different stations in his classroom that he enjoys.KA Albany also has an open door policy where parents are encouraged to come and spend time whenever they would like. There have been times I have stopped by at odd times and my child was always happy in his classroom participating in a learning activity with his teachers. The center is always clean and organized and staff genuinely seem happy and excited.I have toured other centers and preschools and hands down KA was the best option. That’s probably why they have such a long wait list but believe me, they are worth the wait!

My daughter has been attending this day care facility for just under a year. The staff and management have always been friendly, flexible, and always seemed to have my daughters best interest at hand. My daughter is seen by a physical therapist 2 times a week and the academy has always been accommodating. One of the teachers has even offered assistance with her pt if she had any availability. Yes there has been some turnover with the teachers there but the staff seems to have stabilized. The staff since day 1 has always been great. The previous directors were also a pleasure to deal with. The new management has always been very helpful and I do feel that they really like my daughter and will do anything for her. They have even offered to have their daughter babysit mine. I have personally come in and saw the owners spending quality time with my daughter and then they tell me how much they love her. This means Lot to me! I havefound that the revamp of the place gave it a facelift and I can tell that the owners take pride in what they have done. I have always felt that the place was clean since we started. Unfortunately we will be changing day cares to find something closer to our house, in part due to some very serious health issues on my part where my travel will need to be reduced over the next few months. I am very nervous about changing day care facilities and can only hope that the new place treats my daughter just as well as the staff and management here do. I honestly really do not have anything but great things to say about the entire staff at the Kiddie Academy in Albany! Thank you for taking such good care of my daughter!

Update: Im really excited to see KA release a new menu packed full of nutritional value like oatmeal, fruits, veggies, and quality proteins! Parents were told it was a four month process culminating today (which would have been during the time of my previous post) of vetting new vendors and leveraging costs with other resources (paper products and cleaning supplies) in efforts to keep tuition costs down. The food choices are inspiring and encouraging for a diverse toddler exploration of food. As I felt nutrition was my lingering woe with daycare options as a whole and biggest area for this daycare to gain, Im very happy with the new menu and cant wait to see its full implementation in the coming weeks!---As any new parent, weve had our anxiety about leaving our baby with someone else while we work. Understanding that each teacher does their best to emulate parents wishes, reinforce manners, and help our little people grow to be respectful individuals, we get the challenges this makes in a room of 8-10 tiny teenagers (my child is almost 2). I feel like my little guy is thriving with each new teacher, activities, and out door play. I go through a learning curve about every 6 months or so with new room transition and admit that I am really bad at letting him go at drop off and the teachers have helped me minimize the pain for all of us during this time. This being said, Ive been consistently dissatisfied with the food choices made by management. As an infant, I brought his own purees and food, which became increasingly more difficult as he became a toddler and his teachers said he wanted to eat what his friends were eating. I was baffled when I saw cinnamon French toast, vanilla wafers and other cookies used as snacks. Lunches tend to be pretty well balanced with a protein, vegetable, and fruit. Per my request to focus on healthier options, there was/is an effort to try hummus. As you can imagine, Im sure not all the kids are receptive as they have become accustomed to other nutrition - so Im not sure how much longer that will last. Youd also be hard pressed to find anything like oatmeal (a relatively easy and efficient group food), bananas, or apples for breakfast or snacks. Maybe the Mac and cheese could have puréed cauliflower in it? They do offer yogurt, which is a plus. At home, my saving grace used to be veggie burgers, which my son now refuses. This could very easily be picky toddler eating, or perhaps he has developed preferences for the foods he gets at day care. While very happy with his care, I do feel this is an area that needs improvement. Management seems willing and able to make improvements to the buildings and landscaping, and I am looking forward to continued nutrition improvements as well.

Very unprofessional. My brother had been taking his daughter here since she was 4 months old until she was just over a year. When he wrote them an e-mail to change her diapers hourly because of diaper rash, their response was to ban him from the property. Poor decisions from management. They had no problem cashing his checks though!
