If you use apple products, do not contact this place. Incredibly rude personnel. Interrupted me many times while I was trying to ask for help. Then started berating me for using a product that he didn’t personally agree with for whatever reason. I wasn’t even asking for help with the Apple product. He said they do not do business with anyone who uses, purchases, or likes Apple products. I have never been treated so poorly by a business based purely on personal opinions. Beyond unprofessional.Edited based on owners response. He doesn’t know me, and does not know why I made the decision I made on my purchase. He is assuming, and that never ends well for anyone. For him, it cost a sale. I was going to go the easy route and have him extract the data from my old hard drive. I instead purchased the cables necessary and did the work myself, saving myself money. The reason I purchased a new apple notebook, is because I prefer the Mac operating system, and use an iPhone, so the two sync nicely. Yes, I installed boot camp and windows 10 on it, because I have a few programs to operate my business that do not work well or at all on Mac OS. I’m not sure why it’s a “staggeringly odd decision” to have the option of two operating systems on one computer. It saves space and money over buying two different machines to do all the work and media that I do. I stand by my original review that this owner was a real piece of work. It’s amazing he has any business at all with his self entitled attitude. I was in total shock as he judged me without knowing my story and all I could muster was a big F You to him. It’s all my spinning brain could spit out at that moment, based on him treating me like a complete moron, without knowing me at all. Go ahead and judge people here on earth, a**hole, you will get judged in the end by a much higher power.

Called and asked if he would be willing to look at a system I recently built that was getting no signal to the monitor. Cut me off and said that hes already had 7 kids call him and ask him the same question.Advised me to return all my parts, buy new, and bring them to him to assemble for $100.Did not even allow me to ask if he would check CPU pins as I believed that was the problem.Surprising to me that this store has such high reviews with such horrible customer service.Edit: I understand they wouldnt want to look look at, and diagnose issues with a system they did not assemble, but there are numerous computer stores that ARE willing to do this. The main issue I had with the representative is the demeanor the employee had, and how quickly the employee was to get off the phone after referring to me as a kid. In my eyes this is unprofessional and disrespectful. This aligns with past reviews as well.PS: The companies responses to negative reviews speaks volumes on how they handle unsatisfied customers...Not really worried how they spin my story to make them look better in their light. Past reviews stating similar experiences speak for themselves. I do not feel the need to try and convince potential employees not to visit the store, when they can simply read past reviews themselves!

From helping me open a door knob, explaining the difference between a ssd and a hard drive on the phone, to free diagnosis of the later found out dead hard drive and giving me super fair choices on the size of the drive along with recommendation even though they didnt have the right monitor in the shop, explaining the replaced drive would make the good laptop I owned 1500% faster is amazing, while being kind all along the way for character. With genuine 5 star reviews along with funny 1 star imposters, the place has me hooked as a returning customer!

The guy who helped us was friendly and really helpful! He fixed a problem Ive had for months that no computer savvy person in my family could figure out. He also helped steer me away from som potentially virus causing software! Definitely going here again if I run into any problems!

Drove from Corvallis after a knowledgeable friend recommended ATC and Im definitely going to owe my friend a favor for the tip.Tim at ATC was able to replace the hard drive in my rickety old desktop that I was pretty sure was a goner this morning. He explained everything in plain English and gave me honest recommendations but was also understanding of my budget and helped me make it work without replacing the whole computer. The turn around time was lightning fast and the price was extremely fair. He also removed several programs I never would have known could cause trouble. Huge bonus points for having a QR code that took me straight to the step by step status of the repairs, including copious notes on what he was doing and advice for keeping it working well after taking it home.Will definitely be back for any future repairs and when this old desktop finally bites it Ill likely buy a replacement from him as well.

I would give this review no stars at all if that is possible. Called in to ask if they still do computer repairs during Covid and he said it was a weird question and hung up on me. Owner basically refused to listen to their customers.Then I send a voice message to explain further and his reply through text was that it is company policy to not assist people that ask If they do computer repairs or notTold me to go somewhere else to get my PC repaired and was very rude about it. Obviously the owner doesnt care for their customers and it is truly disappointing.Caution: DO NOT ask if they do computer repairs or not. The owner can get his feelings hurt and doesnt want to help his paying customers.

I have not been in this shop but I found this review section while looking for a place to buy a laptop near me. I have been reading these reviews for about a half an hour and it is gripping to say the least. The positive reviews are obviously genuine because of the quantity of them. Scrolling down, the negative reviews are the fun ones to read. Usually theres a very specific gripe, ad hominem included, and then to make matters great- the owner comes back with the fire! He has the memory of a terabyte hard drive, recalling each and every customer with notes and cites to camera footage! Took my desktop in 2 years ago. The power button was not working properly. If shut off computer, very hard to get it back on - but could eventually get it to turn on. Computer worked fine once it would power on. Owner seemed in a hurry and not really interested in my explanation - just took it and went about his business. Waited over 1 week for evaluation and was given the electronic response - computer DOA, come pick it up. Did not talk about any options for fixing the power button which is all I wanted to know. Im sure it didnt turn on right away when he tried - but if he had allowed me to explain and maybe demonstrate, he would have seen what the issue was. Maybe could have told me right then that he wouldnt fix it rather than keep it a week. Well, its 2 years later and my computer is still working! Yes, its a problem when the power goes out - but I eventually get it turned back on. Was a complete waste of my time to bring it in and felt owner had absolutely no time for my computer problem. Wont go there again.

I took my HP laptop in because I couldnt turn it on at all. Turned out that my power button had basically shattered inside the motherboard. When the guy first looked into it, he said Id probably have to replace the whole motherboard but hed work on it to see if there was anything else he could do to get it to work. I left, thinking Id have to spend $300-$500 on my 2 year old laptop, and then only a short while later got a call back from the guy. He was able to figure out a way to turn the laptop on and off without having to replace the motherboard, thankfully. I only had to spend like $25! He removed the broken pieces of the power button and now I have to turn it on and off by sticking a toothpick in there and manually pressing the button. But, as a broke college student who needs their laptop, this works just great for me. He also gave me great advice to get my laptop running faster and its working better now than it was in the past year! Definitely a great place!

Tim is AMAZING!!! I took my laptop in because it had a black screen. He quickly told me it would be one of two things. In less than 3 minutes he had it up and running perfectly again. I felt the owner was competent and knew what he was doing. He diagnosed my laptop quickly and I found his prices were really good. I did see some of the negative reviews online and I think that is best addressed by saying that this place isnt for everyone. You really have to be tech savvy to check the status of your repair online. Older people probably will find this frustrating and I can understand that. But at the end of the day, for the price I paid Im very happy with the service and I will use again if needed (lets hope not!)

I wanted to give 0 stars but wanted people to wonder why only one star. The repair guy was a rude, obnoxious twit. He talks too fast and cant seem to stand still to address the customer. He looked grungy, his place of business was a cluttered mess with disassembled computers all over. The place was dirty and dusty. He was not able to repair my computer and when I went to pick it up he threatened to not return it until a later day. He said it wasnt put back together and he would call me. Now I wonder if he went back and did something to my laptop. Ill be taking it to someone else and having it checked out. Reader beware.

This owner has character and a wealth of knowledge in computer repair. While I was in his office waiting for an on the spot, free of cost computer diagnosis I saw Tim do the right thing and turn business away when he could have tried to sell this elderly women who likely didnt know any better a part for her laptop that was worth more than the entire system. Tim didnt even try, he politely explained to her that it would be best to buy a new laptop all together. My laptop hasnt ran this good in 5 years, and I paid very little.. Tim through in other services for free such as fixing my camera and got everything done in just 2 hours, while servicing many other clients. I will never go to another person for computer repairs, now if I can just talk him into doing phone repairs all my electronic needs will be met under one roof! Thanks a lot for the great experience!

Incredible customer service. I came in with a laptop with a broken fan ready to give him my money, instead of taking a dime from me he went to the back, blew out the computer fan area and it started working again. Within a couple minutes he fixed for free what I thought would take a few days and at least a hundred bucks to take care of. Its rare to find someone in the repair business that isnt looking for an excuse to charge you extra for something. It was clear to him that I didnt know much about computers but he helped me out instead of taking advantage of that. I would recommend him to anyone.

Fast, fantastic service. After calling all of the other repair shops in town, they charged me less than half of the best rate I was given, and did it faster and better than I was expecting! Dont bother calling any other computer stores, just take your problems here!

Scam artist taking advantage of people who dont know much about computers. Took advantage of my friend and now wont give her computer back.I would like to address this company and the lack of professionalism. Always Thinking Computers is supposed to be a place to get your computer repaired. That is their profession. When my friend took her computer to these guys, instead of actually getting her parts and repairing her computer, they told her to buy her own parts from Amazon. Not knowing much about computers, she ordered the wrong part. As a manager of a repair shop, it is my shops responsibility to order parts for and to have my technician do the repairs. If you went to an auto shop and they said, hey you have to order your parts, then well install them, you wouldnt want to have your repairs done there because you dont know about cars. Thats why you take it to Professionals to get things repaired. You would be just as well off looking up the repairs on youtube and doing them yourself.

I went in today to purchase a replacement Power Supply, thinking I needed to spend $50-$100. They did a quick test and found that it was the power cord that was broken not my power supply. $2.00 and 2 minutes later and Im at home writing this review from my computer that was completely dead two hours ago. After hearing from my friends about Tim and how he thinks hes God and most professional computer repair man. When I walked in it took over 10 minutes to get service. After getting some service, once again he was extremely rude, arrogant, and right down nasty when I asked him about an issue (testing him) about my laptop. What he didnt know was I have 3 computer IT certifications and 2 network certification with an AA in computer information systems. I knew the answer the whole time. My friend was right about him and hes also a sleez that also fake a break in to his old shop to collect insurance money. I also believe Tim cares more about himself than truly helping others and offering real outstanding customer service.. If he was really as great as he said he is, why not working for a big fortune 500 company like all the other true computer intelligent people. Half the repairs you can do are on YouTube. This guy is a joke and wouldnt trust him with any of my electronics. He was also very rude and racist to my Asian wife.Ask yourself, Do you really want to do business with a guy like this??I didnt come in alone, there was also no one else in the shop. I also like how you always blame shift to the customer instead of owning up to your mistakes as a business owner. Everyone in Albany also knows you fake your robbery at the last store to get insurance money.

I needed my SSD and HDD replaced. Found this business on google and read the reviews first. I saw only a few negative reviews and decided to give Tim a try. He is AWESOME. My computer was done same day I dropped it off, after picking it up I took it home and everything is running flawless. I asked him to also find a noisy fan and replace it. He did and didnt charge me for the fan. I definitely will be telling all my friends about this shop. I live in Sweet Home area and this was worth the drive. Thanks again for everything Tim.

I went in expecting to leave my computer at the store for at least a week to replace the fan and order a new battery. Tim started off by fixing the fan infront of me, than showed me the battery he would order online, which I decided to order myself and just have it sent to my house. And then informed me that he wouldnt be charging me to fix the fan. Tim is awesome. I left with my laptop, the critical problem solved, and $0 out of pocket. Take your computer problems here! Why cant I leave six stars??? I brought my computer to Tim to help out with a malfunctioning sound card. Not only did he fix the sound card, but he also discovered that my hard drive was on its last legs. He transferred all of my info onto a new hard drive and saved a ton of valuable data! He also removed a bunch of malware which had apparently hidden itself on my computer and it now runs better than ever. How much did all of this cost me? Less than what I was quoted by the jerk at Bellevue Computers in Corvallis for just the sound card replacement. It was worth driving to Albany just to avoid dealing with that guy. The only place anyone should ever take their computer is to Always Thinking Computers! Thanks Tim!

Ive had problems with my laptop since my first day with it. I have had the Geek Squad look it over twice and it always comes back with something else wrong with it. Within 5 minutes, the staff member not only provided friendly service and fixed my computer, but he also showed me how to fix it in the future. Great service! Half the Cost of Geek Squad too!!!

I bought some new parts this spring to upgrade my system. I had some parts that were dead out of the box. Tim has taken the time to help me get new parts from the manufacturers under warranty. It has been a long process to find and fix all the damage, but every time I have help in talking to the companies and getting new parts. I will never go anywhere else and next time will buy directly through ATC to save time and trouble if a part is defective.

This was a a good place to take my laptop for sure. I have an hp envy with cooling fan issues. Bring it in and the guy blows it out for me strts it up turns on right away and everything is great. I was very pleased with professional, quick, and customer oriented service I received at Always Thinking Computers today. I brought my laptop with FAN ERROR message. They were able to diagnose and fix the problem in 5 minutes while I was waiting. No charge for that. They proved they are thinking. The other computer repair place in Corvallis called Bellevue Computer gave me estimate close to 200$ (labor and parts). Always Thinking Computers are very knowledgeable guys.

I broke the touch screen on my laptop and ATC was able to find a replacement screen and fix the laptop for less than half of what it would have cost to have it done through the manufacturer. They were super friendly and very quick getting the work done. I would highly recommend ATC for any computer repairs - they really went the extra mile to help me out!

I cant believe how reasonable the repair costs are. Tim spent about 20 min or more with me talking about the issues i was having with my Lenovo laptop and doing some diagnostics. The biggest problem I was having was that somehow my wireless had been inactivated in a non-normal fashion but even wired it had become unbelievably slow compared to the other 3 active computers in my house. I learned more in that 20 min than in the last 25 years working with computers everyday. I left it with him overnight and 24 hours later I have a super-fast dream performance machine! Will not go anywhere else!

I waited 10 minutes to be helped and then was treated VERY disrespectfully for asking some questions and denied any service or even any further information from the man. I will be a customer for life. I am a student and dont have a lot of money, I expected my repair to cost over $500 and it was $150.I was not as worried about the price I mostly just needed my computer right away because I had a huge project saved on it. I broke my screen and could not use my laptop two weeks before finals. I was having a heart attack!!!! The guy looked at it for free. He pulled it apart right there on the counter in front of me and told me how much it would cost, took about 10 minutes, they told me up to 3 weeks for the screen to come in and it took less than a week. What I could not believe is he got my homework off my computer for me so I could finish my project on my roommates computer.... I almost paid HP $500 and they said it would take 3-6 weeks AAAGH!!!.I was gonna send my laptop to HP literally the next day but I was at Browsers book store when I noticed this store and just went in on a whim. They totally SAVED MY LIFE!! I will go there again if I have a problem and recommend you to everyone I know.

I was from out of town--3,200 miles out of town.* I had a serious laptop problem. I couldnt solve the problem on my own. A few short hours after contacting ATC, I am back up and running, catching up on work, and wishing I had a store like ATC in my own town!*In fact, Im also from out of the country.

I really dont like leaving bad reviews, but I havent been able to get a response from anyone at Always Thinking, even though Ive been trying to contact them for nearly a year. I had previously had really good experiences with them. They fixed my laptop twice without incident. Then I ordered a new CD drive for my computer from them and I never got it. I got the run around and was treated very poorly by Tim. I was not attacking or accusatory but he was constantly on the defensive and very rude to me. I finally set up a time for Josh to bring it to my house and the failed to show up. We set another appointment and he failed to show up again. It has been almost a year now since I ordered that drive. I never got the drive and I never got a refund. Recently I sent another email hoping to at least get a refund, but I never got a response. I will never use this company again. I will be moving my business to Bellevue Computers instead. This was not how I thought this would turn out.

Probably the worst customer service I’ve experienced in my life. The owner hung up on me 4 times, even though I remained respectful, never raised my voice, and barely said more than a few sentences. There’s no chance I’ll ever take my business here.For the full version, its story time! Here’s what happened.I called to ask if they had a power adapter that would work for my laptop. When I told them what laptop I have, he said he did not have a 120W adapter, but directed me to one I could purchase from Amazon. I realized that he kept mentioning a 120W adapter, but I thought my original was a 90W, so I began to ask about that, but he cut me off, saying he had a customer at the counter, recommended I buy that one, wished me a good day, and hung up. The entire conversation took 2 – 3 minutes.Okay, no big deal. A little unprofessional, but I appreciated the help, and understood he needed to talk to a walk-in customer. I took some time to look up the adapter he recommended, and compare it to my original, and sure enough, it looked different, as well as having a different Watt and Amp output. I waited about 10 minutes from my first call, so he could help his customer, and called back to figure out why the discrepancy.The 2nd call only lasted a few seconds. As soon as he realized it was me again, before I could even ask anything, he stated that he had already helped me all he could, and didn’t “have any more time to discuss this,” and promptly hung up.This time I was quite shocked that anyone would treat a potential customer that way, but was mostly irritated because I was still left wondering if they had an adapter they could sell me that would work (since I assumed he was incorrect about what adapter I needed, and I was trying to buy locally because I needed one ASAP).I promptly called back a 3rd time, and this time before he could cut me off or hang up, I quickly blurted out, “It’s me again, and I just need to know if you have a 90W adapter, because the one on Amazon you directed me to is not the same as my original.” He responded that no, they only had 65W adapters, and then *click*; hung up again.And this point I was appalled, but I had my answer—they couldn’t help me. I resolved to write a negative review but realized I didn’t know who I had been talking to, and figured I should give the owner a chance to take corrective action before posting about it.I called back a 4th time, and immediately asked if I could talk to the owner. Well, what do you know? That’s who I’d been speaking with all along. I said I just wanted to let him know I was going to write a negative review on Yelp and Google. He then launched into a minute long monologue tirade. He said to go ahead, he’d respond with what really happened (I’m looking forward to that), and that I was the one harassing him. He said that he’d helped me the first time, and told me he didn’t have a 90W adapter (he hadn’t told me that until the 3rd call) and that even though my laptop came with a 90W adapter, the manufacturer actually recommends a 120W and it will work fine (this was the first time I’d heard this, and appreciated knowing it), and that he has 3 degrees and 10 years’ experience fixing computers, and so on, until he ended by hanging up again (for the 4th time).In conclusion, the entire way the owner behaved was quite stunning. I was fully ready to drive across town and purchase a ~$25 adapter if they had one, so I think that I should have been worth at least a few minutes of his time. Not to mention, taking care of customers is how you build clientele, even if you don’t make a sale. Instead, I was left with the impression that the owner is very high-stress and unstable, and I would not recommend their services to anyone.

I came to Always Thinking Computers after taking my laptop (used for barely a year) to Geek Squad and told that I should just buy a new lap top--the point being that the cost of through diagnosis and fix would be near equivalent to a new 600-700 dollar product. ATC, on the other hand, gave me thorough (and free!) diagnostic screening and replaced my harddrive for just 160 dollars--the manager/technician did this for me in about a week, which included the special order of the new hard drive. He also did several other relatively minor fixes which he did not appear to have charged me extra for. I appreciated the quality customer service I received. The manager always spoke with me like I was adult, offering clear explanations for every step and thoroughly and respectfully answering all of my many questions. ATC is most defiantly the place I am going to take my out of warranty products

Came in with a broken laptop screen. They held for 3 months without repairs (granted the first replacement broke in transit), but when I handed it off to another store to fix, they noticed that I was (1) missing the laptop bezel, (2) wrong screen returned, and (3) monitor cable was broken.

Outstanding Work, wouldnt go anywhere else.

The dc jack went out on my dads laptop so I took it in to get fixed. One thing about the system at this company is that you cant call or drop by the shop too see how the repair is going. And when you look at their automated system online it just says repair in progress. I was told it was going to take a week to fix, for parts to come in and the installation. So when the date I was expecting a call roles by I got confused and wanted to know what was going on. But I couldnt call or drop by because I would be charged an extra 50$ for stopping their work. After 2 weeks and a half I finally get a call saying that they were having troubles with it but it should be done in the next couple days, just waiting on a new part. So the day comes and they call me and say that I was all set and could pick it up. So its been 3 weeks and 2 of which I had no clue what was going on. I pick it up they show me it was working I pay 85$ for the fix and that would be fine if they had fixed it. I take it home and plugged it in. It begins to work but I noticed that the outer frame wasnt pushed in all the way. So I click it together and it stops charging again and the power dies. My charger is in rough condition so I thought that might be the problem. I take it back to them and they check it with their charger and nope its the dc jack. The guy starts to tell me hes not going to fix it again its too much work and I cant get a refund. The words he used were once a computer with a dc jack leaves in working conition it is not refundable. Best he can do is transfer everything from that hardrive to a new computer because its about the same price as a dc jack repair. I go home and think Ill open it up and look at it. (At this point im furious with this company) I open it up find the problem that a so called computer shop couldnt figure out and fix it my self. The problem was that when you click the case down on the laptop it would pull the dc jack out of where it connects to the motherboard due to how they were routing the wires in side the computer. So I figure that he didnt click it down knowing it wouldnt work so I could come pick it up in working condition so I wouldnt be able to get a refund. Pretty sleezy if you ask me. It took me 45 minutes to do. And Ive never worked with computers. Just took a youtube tutorial to figure it out. So I lost 85$ for a job that would have taken myself a few days for a dc jack to come in the mail and 45 minutes to do. This company will not succeed with the current person in charge and the customer service at hand. I regret ever going there and will advise anyone else to steer clear of this company.

Honest, affordable, efficient, professional, and knowledgeable computer repair. My own experience with ATC on Queen Ave in Albany is a half-dozen computer fixes that were entirely satisfactory. All problems were resolved.In addition, at times when I have been in the ATC shop, people have either come in as repeat customers or referred customers. That fact is the defining description of ATC Computer Repair. Repeat customers is the base of business ideology.Lucky for me, the ATC shop on Queen Ave in southwest Albany is in my neighborhood, and that is how I was introduced...I am a repeat customer. And I will continue to be.

Recovered my data and fixed my laptop in less then 24 hours for a very reasonable price. Will be back for sure.

I went in because the keyboard on my laptop was unresponsive, the owner was incredibly friendly, and once it was figured out that a wire just needed to be reset I wasn’t charged anything, definitely 5 stars

I was going to be taking my desktop to this company but after reading some of the responses back from Tim, I decided I didnt want to do business there. His responses are rude, and belittling the customer.
