Sometimes I wish we lived in Colonie so my kids would come here

School is bad. This school is really bad. 1/100. I would not attend again. This school has nice teachers, but lunch is bad. Sucks to suck.

South Colonie School District has got what they have repeatedly voted on, unfortunately, the second worst school district in the Capital Region. Sad, sad news.Dont believe me? Look it up...Dept. ofEducation, or Capital Region Realtors, numerous sources.When you want to keep your taxes so low that your schools cant pay the teachers well, cant reinvest in infrastructure, and you vote over and over not to offer the children of the future the education they need, you get what you pay for....a poor outcome.Oh, sure, they can play football and do cheerleading. But what percent go to college? The families who want their children to go to college do not move there. Goodluck with what happens then.

Here are the pros... 1. There are nice people there, like the lunch ladies and most of the teachers. I like how there is a music program for people that are interested in instruments... I also like the homework amout. Not too bad, not too little. Now the Cons... Some classes are so boring I almost fall asleep in them, like one day in a class (not saying what class because I dont want to expose anyone..) We watched videos about a subject and I dozed off for the whole period... and The food at lunch is atrocious... I bet in one of those pizza slices there is a full serving of saturated fat. They need to make better healthier options so the kids want to eat them instead of putting them on the sharing table. also, some classes we dont do anything related to the subject in them, like in a class, we did a 3 week unit on something that isnt related to that subject. Its incredibly frustrating. Also, in the music program, I am not challenged enough and I hate that a period of my school year is wasted on playing quarter notes. Im a lot more advanced than the other players, so it can get really boring in there as well.
