I did one evening class and I enjoyed it a lot! Mr. Lapira did well in teaching. He gave clear instructions and did well to explain and connect everything he taught. His assistant students also provided helpful advice. The class is set up for participation from every student and interaction between them. It was fun and helpful to learn with other students. I definitely recommend trying a class from Mr. Lapira!

For the one hour of training experience I had with Lapira Kali, I had a great time learning not only new techniques but also key aspects of Filipino mannerisms, culture, and history that I never knew before. When our instructor Jordan taught his techniques and the culture of the Philippines, he was clear and precise in his explanations with no room for confusion or discomfort. I dont want to spoil anything so I wont list anything more than that but if you ever have any free time and want to learn more about another culture and its history and how to protect yourself, Lapira Kali training is an amazing choice!

Love this art and school….quality of instruction is top notch, very traditional-which is what I wanted. A lot of the other MA schools show you a few techniques and drills without any progression and/or structure ! Yes, it can be challenging and frustrating at times getting down/learning the art, but after close to two years with them, I am starting to realize that the true challenge is within MYSELF ! So with the initial week of instruction free… give the reality base MA of Kali a chance…I am so glad I did (and I am now 67 years old). 👍🏽🙏🏽👍🏽

The Filipino Student Organization of UNM had an amazing experience with Lapira Kali! The instructors were very thorough and hands-on. They were very generous with there time and we had such a great event.We learned so much in under an hour. We would love to work with them more in the future. If you are considering joining a kali class, please do it through this school! Mr. Lapira is very knowledgeable and has great credentials in this practice.

I absolutely LOVE taking classes at Lapira Kali. Coach Jordan is professional and thorough. His classes are engaging and he doesnt just show techniques, he explains why they are effective. If youre thinking of studying a traditional martial art, check this school out!

I had an amazing time learning Kali martial arts! Mr. Lapira is a gifted instructor. You can tell how passionate he is about the art and the culture that coincides with the art. The one class I took was so valuable, so give it a try, you wont regret it!

The Martial Arts Instructor is great. The 1 hour of martial arts had a lot of information and very easy to follow.

Coach Jordan is a great instructor, I myself am trained in another martial arts but I found it really interesting and learned new techniques in Kali! The class is easy to learn and understand, I like how we have partners as well so we are already exposed to opponents earlier and I found that really helpful.

Trained here for a few weeks while in town. Loved it! Great place for both kids and adults to work on discipline, physical activity (according to your ability) and mental agility. Coach Jordan is a fabulous and attentive instructor that works with individual needs. Highly recommended. Will join again next time in Abq.

An amazing Martial Art for anyone to learn!!

Im learning something new every week at Lapira Kali! Jordan (instructor) makes the process fun, easy to follow and remember. As a beginner with no prior experience I walk away after each class more confident in being able to perform defending myself and/or others! I highly recommend taking classes!

My daughter started with Lapira Kali a little over a month ago, and so happy she did. She absolutely loves going to class and even practicing at home. I highly recommend anyone at least trying this class, you will not regret it.
