Our 7 year old learned multiple self-regulation tools with Melanie and was immediately empowered and self aware. She is now able to assess appropriate energy levels depending on situation and environment. Her focus has also substantially increased. A huge benefit to the whole family. Well be going back for some dyslexia and reading work!

My whole family loved working with Ms.O. We saw measurable improvement with regards to attention and reading following completion of the program.

We have had good lasting results with this program. In the one week session, my childs reading level and comprehension made significant improvements. My first experience with Rio Grande Learning Solutions was in 2014, as I sit here and write my current date review, it is impossible to do so without revisiting my initial experience. Elyana was about 10 years old and although we had received an official dyslexia diagnosis in 2011, I didn’t have an understanding of resources available to help me help Elyana learn. We struggled daily, it was very emotional to not be able to provide Elyana the fun and energetic learning experiences that her siblings were enjoying. I posted on Facebook requesting anyone’s opinion about several organizations or recommendations and through that plea, I found Melanie. After a discussion and overview of the program, I knew that I needed to enroll my daughter for services. I chose to have my child miss 5 consecutive school days (unexcused) and hoped for the best. I saw Elyana’s confidence grow a hundred times over IMMEDIATELY. She had NEVER expressed an interest in reading, she always did it in private and would refuse to read with any form of an audience, on day 3 she asked if she could read to me!! By the end of day 5 she was reading fluidly and at her expected grade level!!! Melanie guided me through the Davis Program and provided me with the tools necessary to empower my daughter. Koosh ball, sweep-sweep spell and clay (symbol mastering) as prescribed by Melanie changed our lives!!!!!! We had a great experience and we had all of the tools required to help Elyana succeed. In 2018, Elyana became distracted and almost disrespectfully disinterested in academics. We were struggling with typical coming of age behaviors and sense of self in addition to falling behind in school. She was failing most of her classes and I realized that at some point we had stopped actively using the tools we had relied on so heavily. I reached out to Melanie for a refresher, she held several sessions with us and we were able to save the school year. After the refresher, Elyana chose to attend a Davis Concepts for Life course with Melanie, during the summer of 2019. Today, Elyana is once more, reading closer to her grade level. She recently scored well in reading and comprehension at her current grade level and has been more actively involved in understanding her learning plan and available modifications. These are actions that can only come with developed confidence. Seeing Melanie was again, the best decision we could have made. Melanie has been able to motivate Elyana in a way I will forever be grateful for while also coaching me from the perspective of a parent who has experienced my frustrations and desperation.
