Terrible school! I have multiple degrees and this was by far my worse experience. First of all the student instructor ratio is about 25-30 students to 1-3 instructors depending on the day. The instructors are good and most care but its the administrative and management that act carefree about anything you bring to them. My last week of class we had two days in a row where not a single instructor showed up??? After an hour, a few of us student went to the office and asked whats going on, the girl stated that they ALL called in sick. When i asked what we should do she asked me if i could teach the class for the rest of the day? The young lady that works in the office is very rude, moody and unprofessional. BTW, only about 3 of 10 students pass the class. I would steer clear of this place if you can. Instructors get a B+, office staff D-, the school overall F!........

Previous experience, but over twenty years ago. I had to go through the whole process again. I could have studied on my own, but things : rules,/regulations, electronics in the truck have changed and I think school was the best choice for me. Also I wanted to drive solo during this pandemic.

It’s a good place to get your Cdl. When I went there it was a lot of students in a class and very hard to get the time with the instructors but they do get you ready for your exam and to be able to pass it. I can definitely say that Santanna in the office is amazing and goes above and beyond her job title to help everyone to be successful and truly cares. She has even helped me after I graduated with job leads and just to check up and make sure I’m doing good with my new career.

Good learning experience instructors were very knowledgeable, and passionate about getting you on the road. Santana was also a good motivator, and also willing to go above to make you feel welcomed. Keep up the good work, Ill be sending friends and family your way.

I attended Phoenix Truck Driving School from July – September 2021. It was a frustrating experience for me – it was disorganized at times. There were times when there were more than 25 students in the yard, but only three trucks and three instructors were available (sometimes it was even less than that!). By the time it was your turn to drive again, you’d have forgotten what you did last. For a $5,000 (approximate) course, this got old FAST. What I found most annoying, wasn’t the lack of organization or available instructors/trucks, it was (some of) the students. Regardless of how many times the instructors told the class, “One maneuver and then get out for the next student,” some of the students would disregard it and continue driving, robbing others of their turns. It’s the students (some, not all) who will get on your nerves the most. Beware of the ‘know-it-alls’ who swear they know ‘everything’ by their second day of the course; they’ll pump your head full of misinformation and inaccuracies IF you listen to them: DO NOT listen to them. If you have a question, ask the instructors (they DO know). That was the subpar portion of my review – now for the good part. The instructors are grade A! I had a positive experience with each of them: Joshua, Thomas, Dylan, and Jeremy are ALL knowledgeable instructors and taught me more than one way to do whatever it was I was having issues with – learn from them. They’re capable of passing on information that might make more sense or ‘click’ better than what another instructor told you. Lastly I will say this: You won’t be an expert by the end of week two. DON’T GET FRUSTRATED! For me, everything clicked on my last few days (not joking)! I’d have bet money that I was going to bomb that test. You’ll pass it IF you apply yourself and listen to the instructors. Again, maaany thanks to Joshua, Thomas, Dylan, Jeremy, and Miguel.

I appreciate Santannas help in getting us in contact with drivers that were needing jobs. Santanna is very professional and communicates very well. She also takes a lot of pride in helping her students network and find employment. In one week she had 4 drivers for us to interview. We are very happy with the drivers we have hired from this school and look forward to hiring more. Thank you

I’m a cdl driver with a year and a half experience as an OTR driver. I called up and asked about getting training to drive a manual, as I don’t feel confident in my abilities currently and the majority of my professional driving has been in an automatic. Unfortunately Phoenix does not offer a course specifically for my needs, according to the guy I spoke to on the phone. I feel like they are missing out on opportunities to teach students by not offering such a class, because I feel like my situation is not an uncommon one, especially with drivers that started off working for megacarriers, like Swift, Prime, etc. but I will say the man i talked to on the phone was quite friendly and knowledgeable, so 4 stars it is. Good people over here. Start offering a manual class and its 5 stars for sure!

This is by far NOT the most organized school there is out there when it comes to the office people. However instructors like Miguel ,James and Manny are awesome in what they do and very professional. If you are determined to get your CDL you won’t regret coming here. I just passed my road test yesterday and I’m happy to say so. Last but not least the school is VERY EXPENSIVE around $5,245 to be more specific. Nonetheless you WILL see that money back in your pocket sooner than you might expect. I loved my time being there and I enjoyed helping my fellow students also. Overall this is a great school to come to and get your CDL with. Thank you George and Elaina for all your help. Congratulations to all the new CDL drivers out there!!!

Thank you, Miguel, Pat, Robert, Crystal, James, Manny, Elizabeth, Yvonne and George! You are all friends now and helped me greatly in obtaining my CDL. I had a great time here at Phoenix School and greatly appreciated the mentoring, the tricks tips and friendly attitude you all brought to the table. 5-stars definitely! I highly recommend being vigilant, DO NOT stand in the background expecting things to fall into your lap. GET in there, PAY attention, ASK questions and ask them multiple times to different instructors. If there is something you do not UNDERSTAND, ask another instructor or for extra training. I recommend to let the instructors train you, as students will start trying to teach you and train you and most often they are wrong and just arrogant and could steer you in the wrong direction. Definitely trade knowledge and experience but keep what the instructors are teaching you in mind first. I really loved the overall safety of the instructors, they are there to teach and keep everyone safe. If anyone is being dangerous they immediately mediate that situation and ensure everyone is safe! Listen to the instructors, they are there for a reason, if they tell you to do something do it! Pay attention to them because if you do not, I promise you will get frustrated with learning, and begin taking it out on other students or even instructors. ALL of the instructors are VERY friendly amazing personalities and have no animosity towards any students. Unless you are expressing dangerous maneuvers, attitude or are just rude for no reason then they will stand up for the students and themselves. I greatly appreciate their calm demeanor and ability to keep everyone learning happy and safe! 5-stars again!I had the 3-week program as I, obtained my CDL Permit at the DMV. It only took me 2 weeks and 3 days to get my CDL. The school has loans and grants to help with financial aid. The 4 week class is $4,999. If you obtain your CDL permit at the DMV then it is $4,299 and then there is a $500 cash deposit that you need to put in to start classes and you can not use the loan or grant to pay for this, this will be out of pocket. So a total of $5,500 is what you should be expecting when applying for this school. They will assist you obtain DOT Medical certification, and appointments at the DMV for your proper paperwork. In my experience for job placement, this school guarantees you an OTR(over the road) job with SWIFT and can give you little bits of help finding Job postings elsewhere(pepsi, coca-cola, and others). They do not have a job set up at a company of your choosing other than SWIFT. In my experience almost no one wants new drivers without at least 6-12 months of OTR experience. There are jobs all over Albuquerque but most want a bit of experience. Now that I have opted for SWIFT my recruiter I, was assigned to, I have had the toughest time contacting them. Luckily another recruiter contacted me and has helped me greatly and returns my calls and checks up on me often. Thank you ROD!If you want your CDL FAST, then this is the school for you. Even with covid-19 here I felt safe and had the best help possible obtaining appointments and certifications with the DMV and Medical exams. Thank you Thank you Thank you Phoenix Truck Driving School!!!!!!!

Very disorganized when I went there to finalize paperwork they said they would send it out so I can start right away, but when I called them the next week it still wasnt sent. They say theyll help you get your CDL but instead of focusing on your official test/studies they want you to take quizzes that are contradicting to the official CDL and allot of it has nothing to do with a commercial driver license. A total waste of time. The bounce you back and forth between instructors that all tell you something different. Most instructors were polite and helpful but at least one was very rude , yelling, speaking to students like children and misinforming. Talking to students about coworkers and their issues. Worst is the quizzes very stressful trying to complete and trying to study the actually test that gets your CDL.
