The Heart Center is a great place to go trainings. its clean, convenient, and well arrange to meet your needs.. My BLS instructor was very professional/knowledgeable on the info I need to save lives. Customers service is number one, any time I called I always get someone to answer any questions I have. I would recommend The Heart Center to everyone. Great place!

I’ve renewed both BLS and ACLS in 2019 through The Heart Center and had a great experience. I know most folks have anxiety going into ACLS classes (even if it’s not their first time) but the instructors at The Heart Center are highly supportive and provide a positive learning environment.I was going to renew this year through my employer but due to their limited classes, I was not able to secure a date. Before I even asked, my employer’s BLS and ACLS educator/coordinator highly recommended John Hawkins and his team at The Heart Center! It’s great to know that this group is highly reputable!

So far best ACLS class Ive taken. Even when we couldnt practice the usual group scenarios/codes due to preventative measures, the instructor (John) made the best of it. He was clear, direct and realistic. He definitely made the class content easy to understand, remember and apply to real life situations. I recommend it 100%.

Best ACLS and CPR class Ive been too, I cant imagine youd find better in the area. John breaks the material down into its simplest and most easy to understand form. He does an incredible job of showing that codes follow a distinct and unchanging pattern and are not as complicated as so many people (myself included) seem to think. I promise you will walk away from this class understanding how the ACLS or CPR algorithms work and feel way more confident in real life scenarios.

Love these classes! You actually feel like youre learning/ reviewing the info, it doesnt take longer than necessary, and you get to try applicable clinical scenarios. John is the best!

I have taken two BLS Provider courses at this location. My experience was great! It was easy to register and my Instructor was very nice and patient. We were offered refreshments and even a snack upon arrival. The course is very detailed and gives lots of time for hands on practice. It pertained to what I will do out in the field, if/when live saving measures are needed. I recommend this business and location to complete your various trainings.

I’ve tried a few different instructors in the DMV for ACLS/PALS/BLS and no one compares to John at the heart center! He is very knowledgeable and efficient at teaching. He doesn’t over complicate the material so you actually absorb the information. The class location is also very comfortable .

Scheduling online was very easy - class locations and times were convenient...

In my 14 years of taking CPR classes, I have never had such a terrible experience. John was rude, abrasive and unprofessional. He did not explain his expectations or what was going to happen to all people attending the class. He needlessly embarrassed several attendees in front of the group. This is not an effective teaching method. Healthcare workers have had a hard enough year without a CPR instructor on a power trip making them feel bad about themselves.

John is very knowledgeable and breaks ACLS down in a way everyone can understand. I really enjoyed the training.

This was my first time doing ACLS with the Heart Center. It was easy to register and I found the Instructor John, to be very helpful and patient. His goal was to make sure we understood the content and that we were comfortable with it. I wish I had been using them all along!! I would highly recommend them. I have been using this site for the last ten years for both ACLS and PALS renewals. The site is very comfortable with parking close by. We always have John Hawkins as our instructor and he does such a great job teaching this content and making it easier to understand.

I took the BLS course and it was fantastic. Rebecca was so kind and really knew what she was doing. Excellent explanation and instruction. Very nice facility. Will most definitely renew my certification here.

Knowledgeable instructor gave good feedback and tips on how to remember treatment. Quality equipment that provided feedback while compressing. Definitely chose them again.

I really enjoyed my PALS class, it was a small group, it didn’t take very long, an l learned some simple steps that will help me remember how treat patients based on how stable or unstable the patient is. I will be back to take my BLS with The Heart Center in the near future as well.

Great BLS skills check!Location/parking is a little hard to find so get there early. Entrance is the one next to the coffee shop, then take the elevator to the 6th floor. Have the phone number handy in case youre lost so the instructor can come down and find you. :)

I attended the skills sessions for ACLS, PALS and BLS and had a good experience. Class was very informative and to the point. I definitely recommend them and plan to use them again in the future.

My 2-days ACLS was very informative, and helpful. John knows how to break the information in a great way which guides you through all important points. I like Alexandria location in five minutes by walk from VRE and Metro stations with a lot of parking nearby. I definitely will recommend ACLS classes from John to all students levels.

I took the hands on portion for both ACLS and CPR. The instructor was extremely thorough and made sure you knew the information before leaving.

I took the BLS course. The small class sizes are great for learning and efficiency. Instructor comes by often to make sure you can demonstrate the skills and checks to see if anyone has questions or discussion points. Availability of courses helps when you need to renew quickly (because those expiration dates creep up on you when you are busy!).

Completed my ACLS renewal with Denise and my first time certification of PALS with John.I’ve done my certifications in many training facilities and I would have to say this has been my favorite by far. Both trainers were very professional and knowledgeable.PALS was taken during this pandemic and I appreciate the lengths John went to make sure we were safe!The material was broken down and explained in a way not only to be successful on the test but in a way that was hard to forget for real life situations. The practice scenarios were great to reiterate the material and really drive it home.If you’re looking to certify first time or renew this is the training for you.

I just completed my PALS recert w/John last week. It was one of the most positive training sessions Ive ever experienced. John knows the content inside and out so was able to cover a lot of ground in a very efficient manner.

I took my first BLS class and it was fantastic! The instructor was kind and very helpful. She took her time to explain things although I have had BLS in the past at my old place of business. The videos for training were easy to understand and the manikins were extremely useful for teaching. Environment was clean and tidy. I felt comfortable asking questions and the class was very involved despite being a mix of healthcare professionals to non-healthcare. It was a very engaging class and a fun learning environment. I highly recommend the BLS course to anyone who is wanting to learn and retain the training! I’ll be taking my ACLS course with them soon!

Always a great re-certification experience with The Heart Center. I dont go anywhere else for any of my BLS< ACLS or PALS certs. The offer a low stress non-competitive environment that fosters learning and not showmanship .

UPDATE 06/2020- Ive been certified by this company for the past 7 years. They are not boring. The flow is not too fast nor slow. It takes place in a comfy board room. John is a great instructor.Parking is metered or use the garage.Its in a very safe area ,there is a metro station less than 50 yards across the street.

Excellent experienced instructors. I’ve done many courses else where before but I was really impressed with the style It was taught in here especially John’s.

The class was both interesting and enjoyable! Tim is highly knowledgeable in the field and is a great instructor. I left feeling confident and comfortable in my ability to put these skills into practice. Definitely reccommend; and free Starbucks is always a plus!

Be aware do not miss any classes! I had a family emergency a few years ago and had to move immediately out of state. I lost 300 dollars. They refused to refund my money. It was not their policy. Still bothers me to this day. I gave one star just so I can post. Just unfortunate that they could be so cold.

Great place to for AHA recerts! John taught my PALS renewal class. The class was painless, efficient and I enjoyed the experience he brought to the class.

I was very impressed with the course. There were many practice sessions reviewing ACLS cases. There was good reinforcement of skills necessary to running a quality code. There was emphasis on good communication among team members and techniques to minimize interruptions in compressions. It was taught in a manner to easily identify the treatment course for each case. There was a good amount of practice and constructive criticism was also offered to improve knowledge and skills. I will be back for this course!

I completed by initial BLS certification with the Heart Center and will soon be renewing my certification with them (for the second time!) The professionalism is top-notch and class participants leave with full knowledge of the subject matter. 10/10 would recommend.

Pretty neat place with comfortable seats and setting. They also have a free Starbucks coffee and tea in a nice kitchen. The instructor did not bore us with unnecessary details. We practiced everything that was on the video and I found that helpful. I would received this particular place for anyone who has to take first aid courses.

Despite having to stand outside for 15 mins in the cold because the building was locked down since its Sunday, my overall experience was great!I did my skills portion here, very small class which I prefer, up to date equipment and the instructor was courteous. He walked us through it first, how to handle the mannequins.I havent had much good experiences since Ive moved to VA but I definitely recommend this place!!

This place used to be awesome. If you are avoiding taking this at your hospital, for a recert, and thinking this place is stress free DONT! Registration email says no megacode. You better believe you have to do it now! I dont know what changed. You used to be able to walk in for a skills session, show you could do compressions, and get out of there. You need a hour or two to go through it now This is the last class I take there.

I have done both my ACLS at Kaiser Tysons in classroom, as well as my PALS skills check at the Alexandria location after completing the course online - BOTH experiences were, hands down, the best place in NOVA to receive these certifications. The environments promote learning that sticks, and you walk out knowing if something happens in your workplace (or in life) you are more then equipped to react appropriately (of course you have to do your part of reading and reviewing the material.) Strongly recommend!
