Highly recommended. Century 21 Accent Homes has been managing my rental properties for over 25 years. Jointly, we have faced a wide variety of rental issue over the years. In every case they have always quickly responded to these rental issues, both to the owner and to the renters. This has always been a collaborative effort, identifying the problem and considering the best way to deliver a solution. I have nothing but the highest praise for they performance. They are always professional and their services are a good value. Again, I cannot overemphasize the collaboration between Century 21 and the property owners. It as been a very beneficial partnership. They are the best.

Weve used Century 21 Accent Homes to manage our properties for many years. Theyre a great company to do business with. Theyre excellent at finding tenants and handle all the issues that come up with the properties without any trouble. Weve also used them to buy and sell a few properties. Weve always been very satisfied with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a full-service property management and real estate firm.

Century 21 Accent Homes has provided all of my real estate professional services for the last 38+ years. They have managed my property management accounts from procurement to the time the mortgage was paid off. Now, these properties are spinning off a tremendous source of income during my retirement years. Not only that, Accent Homes is a legacy company with the 3rd generation of ownership providing the continuity of complete real estate services that are needed for the security of your family. - R

The staff at Century 21 Accent Homes are superb. Ive used their property management services for over 13 years and wouldnt go anywhere else. They are proactive and have great processes and procedures which allow them to find new qualified tenants, resolve repairs quickly, and perform overall management of my property. They deserve my 5-star rating.

Absolute garbage of an experience. They never respond to you calls or emails. They are never in the office. They charge you for whatever they can when you move out even though it was noted as an issue at move-in and wasnt noted to have changed at move-out. I would avoid them at all costs.

I have used Tom and his crew to buy, manage, sell and find me renters and contractors for over 30 years. I have always foundOur dealings straight forward and on good faith. Sometimes we disagree but that is just the nature of business. In my last condo I spent 12k for the updateHe had only recommended 7.6k but iwanted slightly higher ended finishes to get top dollarTom agreed we literally got the highest price at the time and we sold on only 17 days in a development that averaged 1days. So thx to Tom and his crew.. I got the highest 3/2 ,price in the shortest amount of time. Be aware that that 12k investment returned an additional 25k to the sale price so I doubled my investment of the upgrade in only 6 weeks to do the upgrades

Can’t say enough about this team! They stepped in at the end of our 16 month lease from another company, and when I say the end I literally mean the last 30 days. They provided more guidance and customer support than we received the previous 15 months. If you are looking for a top notch quality team than look no further. You will not be disappointed. I know without hesitation that I would 100% recommend this company to anyone and feel comfortable in doing so. If we are ever looking to buy or rent in the area again, trust me they will be our first call!

In a time of need (a whole house fire) EVERYONE has been so supportive at Century 21 Accent Homes. They have gone above and beyond to find a home for us to rent while our house is being rebuilt (probably 9-12 months). Both Toms spent time to not only find the right home quickly. They both made themselves available for the thousand and one questions that we have had. I wouldn’t hesitate or think twice if you ever need any help finding a new place. Give Tom at Century 21 Accent Homes a call.

If I could give zero stars I would. NEVER in my 13 years of renting have I ever had a property manager YELL in my face. Tom Sklopan yelled in my face in front of my 2 year old son claiming that he wouldnt pay for the necessary maintenance on the house we JUST moved in to. He was aggressive and took steps inward towards me while yelling and was within an inappropriate distance of a woman in her home without her husband home. The top level of my home is 84° every day by noon and Tom Sklopan refuses to fix the problem. He sent a contractor once and the problem hasnt changed at all. We have asked for a second opinion and/or a window unit and he said he wont pay for any of that. And if he sends his contractor again we have to pay for it. Its complete negligence and POOR management on every level. This house has been terribly maintained and the owner Douglas Lamont should be made aware. DO NOT RENT WITH THIS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY.

Staff is slow to respond to any issues you have. They will tell you they are working on something and are not. We were told trees would be trimmed at our property and it took them 5 months to get a contractor out. We were told that a bathroom would be repainted and a new exhaust fan installed prior to our moving in and it took 10 months. Our deposit was not returned in its entirety even though we had all of our receipts. We went past the 45 day period, being told they were working it, and had to threaten legal action because they didnt want to return 270$ to us. They are very very shady and appear to have high internal turnover within their office. I would not trust them to manage my property or rent from them.

Never never never suggest to work with. Forget about your deposit. I suspect they make money or help the landlord make money out of your deposit. They charged me, out of my deposit, $400 for carpet cleaning, which usually costs $200. The thing is the realtor knew that the landlord will move in himself and change the carpet entirely. Actually they did change the carpets later on. This is just one thing. They almosty fully cut my deposit for many things that were not identified at the move-out inspection.

The customer service is terrible. The Century 21 staff is unresponsive and unprofessional. They even tried to fraudulently charge us for a water bill at move out when water was included on our the lease. They do not possess basic communication skills and could not coherently respond to emails. At the end of the day I do not know if this office is criminal or incompetent, but either way I would recommend renting through a different company. Furthermore Century 21 made us pay for carpet cleaning even though they told us they would be replacing the carpets once we moved out.

Wouldnt give them 1 star, but its important people know to stay away from this company. They are slum lords and if anything breaks the person in charge (her name is Leigh) lacks the most basic of human communication skills. She is either completely incompetent or simply doesnt care about tenants. Do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs.

Mixed feelings. Attentive to major issues as a tenant. I took care of minor issues on my own. Major repairs/issues occurred from condo association out side of the property managers purview (I took the time off and the I convinced). *****BUT coordination with moving out was HORRIBLE. At one point I was listed as the contact realtor, prospective buyers contacted me to see if I could help them fine a place. I went on and beyond to show the place and the owner and Century21 had the audacity to charge me a random arbitrary $350 fee on top of $45 smoke detector batteries, $25 to sweep the garage floor (probably had a couple of leaves), and $210 bathroom caulking (which were caulked). The $350 references lease p. 9-26 paragraph 2 - Not Showable (wth). Probably showed 40 times in a 2-3 week timeframe (for rent then they added for sale) when listed after the owner went back and forth about renting or selling ($250-$300 rent increase proposal). With as little as 2 hour notices while I was promised 24 hour notice (but I was accommodating). After multiple calls and the run around from Century21 concerning justification of the charge and them stating they would discuss with the owner. I gave up and cashed the check for the remaining security deposit returned after about six weeks. The left hand said they thought the right hand was taking care of responding....basically avoidance. For Principle my said take them to court, to be practicable my mind said cut my loss and write a review.

AWFUL customer service. I would rate 0 stars if it was an option. Staff was unprofessional, unresponsive, and seemingly incompetent throughout the 2 year lease term. Upon move out, I had to pay $250 for carpet cleaning even though Century 21 provided written documentation at the beginning of my lease that said carpet would be replaced for the next tenant. Staff often did not answer my phone calls, and instead responded days later via email with short, cryptic messages rife with spelling errors. Century 21 docked an additional $750 or so from security deposit for cleaning, painting, and caulking (i.e., reasonable wear and tear). Theres reason to believe that Century 21 and its approved vendors are in bed together to overcharge and screw over tenants--especially given that the invoices that came back with my security deposit were unsigned, un-executed pieces of paper that show no proof of service or payment. Century 21, of course, ignored all of my requests for official bills and/or invoices for these services. The Century 21 management mantra appears to think that renting a property places ALL COSTS ON TENANTS. Thats just not how renting works. For comparison, before this lease I had never lost a dime of my security deposits. Conclusion: AVOID CENTURY 21 AT ALL COSTS

Absolutely horrible. Century 21 does nothing to fix the issues identified until after about 10 to 12 attempts to get a hold of Leigh Anderson! Unprofessional! She doesn’t know what it means to return a phone call and the meld system they use is just horrible also. Landlords and especially any future tenants should know how awful this Century 21 is for property management!!

I am disappointed to have to give them a star. I have never had the displeasure of working with such an abysmal group. Renting from them was a nightmare. Their repairs person takes forever to get things done (I am talking *months*) and required threats from the county to get basic safety and housing code violations fixed. I would never rent from them again if the choices were rent or live in a cardboard box under a bridge. $60 for lightbulbs on our deposit. There werent even $60 worth of lightbulbs in the whole damn house and we checked them all (including the non-functional oven light) before leaving. Scam artists and miscreants.

I took my Principles of Real Estate class and PSI pre-exams for both Virginia and National portions at this very brokerage. Very few brokers can boast 40 years of experience Real Estate Brokers and Sales Agent experience AND teach a class at the same time but Tom Sklopan can. He doesnt just dryly teach you about Real Estate law but tells you exactly how to apply it in the real world while being ethical on both sides of the table, client and buyer. If you are being licensed for whatever reason then please contact Tom Sklopan at Century 21 Accent Homes, it will be a very interactive class!

I would tell my family/friends not to rent from them or use them as a property manager. If you do, I recommend documenting everything (e.g., take pictures, save emails).Based on my experience, the staff is extremely rude and unprofessional (e.g., at lease-signing, we were told not to get pregnant). Further, employee turnover is so high that we had three different property managers in the one year we rented from them. Thus, (1) repairs were not accomplished timely (e.g., water damage from a roof leak wasnt repaired and continued to worsen despite our complaints), (2) the property was in bad shape upon moving in (e.g., urine and make-up on walls, carpet beetles), (3) we were threatened nuisance fees when asking for help, and (4) we were inconveniently the point of contact for scheduling viewings the last month of our lease (including taking calls after 10pm and missing several days of work). In addition, the employee turnover resulted in continuous updates to their contact information that was never communicated to us.If there was any kind of maintenance scheduled, contractors showed up without our knowledge or didnt show up at all, which made us miss even more work. In the beginning, it was so bad that our agent had to go to their office to demand a response and action from them.We moved out of this property three months ago because of the poor property management (and avoided them in our new search). Just this week, we received a call from a pest control company threatening legal action against an unpaid bill because we were never notified through Century 21 (who scheduled the service and received the bill on our behalf). Additionally, Century 21 had signed a lease with a new tenant before our lease was set to expire without consulting us. This caused major inconveniences with our move out timing. Moreover, it cost well over $1,000 to move out of the townhouse because of their move-out requirements (even when the same requirements were not enforced for the previous tenant). They require that you use companies on their approved vendor list who overcharge for services.Overall, dealing with this company was frustrating and unsatisfactory, and still is three months later. The only positive thing about my experience was receiving our well-deserved deposit back.
