Review №1

My three children attended Bluebird II for three years, 2018 thru 2021. The teachers and staff are amazing. During the COVID pandemic, they were exceptional. My family recently relocated but wish we could have taken BBII with us. We miss everyone dearly. Ms. Carla is fantastic and always available. If you are interested in BBII and have any questions, please feel free to message me.

I believe a prior negative review was removed. So sad. ---I have found the review and I believe its important to parents to read it.Tara Keith2 weeks ago-EditIm going to start this review telling you the owner Susan is the worst human being I have ever met. The way she conduct her business is unprofessional, she treat her employees horribly, giving them fear so they dont complaint about anything they see and so far shes been able to avoid any closure or fee by the city inspections. She doesnt pay overtime, teacher assistants get pay less than $12 per hr and if an employee asks for time off for a doctors appointment she might terminate you without remorse. Im so amazed to see how this person has made a fortune over damaging her employees life. No one can be happy while working there. After a big accident to a little one few months ago (he lost some of his fingers) she removed all the security cameras, can u believe that? oh well...there is more to tell....do not send your little ones to these facilities owned by her. Do some research. There are really good day cares so look around. We shouldnt allow people to get richer by steeping over others. I hope by heart she changes one day.

While my incident happened back in June, I think it’s best that those who are reviewing daycares, are aware of what goes on at BB2. My daughter stayed there for 2 1/2 years but it did not come without issues and we should have pulled her out a year ago, at least. The pros of the daycare center are that it’s maintained and cleaned well, and that they learn a lot, mainly because the majority of what they do in their “free” time are drills and worksheets... not much room for creativity and exploration. The cons unfortunately overshadowed most positive things that occurred there at the school. The turnover at that school is incredibly high. During my daughters last year, she had three teachers cycle through. This was incredibly challenging for children and difficult for parents to maintain relationships. In the younger class, there were some teachers who couldn’t speak English enough to tell me about her day or answer a simple question. That should be a minimum requirement. During the last few months we were at BB2, there was an incident with two other children. While I won’t go into specifics, the management of the incident was done incredibly poorly. In fact, it was like there was no communication at all. It seemed like teachers were fired without proper investigation and our trust as parents in the school decreased yet again. The tipping point for us, was that my husband could not find our daughter in one of the various classrooms. He was obviously frustrated with the staff. Two days later, we were told our daughter was getting kicked out of school. No communication other than a letter with her last day on it. When we had a face-to-face conversation with the owner, Susan, it was like talking to a brick wall (which I had to facilitate). There was no accountability on her part, no apologies, no professionalism, and instead placed blame on us. She was more interested in making money by volume rather than quality. And it felt that way, that the loss of one student will quickly get replaced by another. Of note, there were 20 kids in my daughters class and by the time we left there were only 12. When we said the reviews online are not good, she said she didn’t care. Well Susan, here’s another bad review. While it’s convenient and cheap, these are your kids… Look elsewhere.

Blue Bird Academy had been a fun-loving educational experience for my Kindergartener and 2nd grader since being enrolled just after birth! Jerry and Susans leadership and love for bi-lingual childhood development is evident by the passion and commitment of all the day-care assistants and teachers alike! Our THANK YOU y MUCHAS GRACIAS for all 8 wonderful years and may all Bluebirds take flight to a bright future!
