The district office itself seems fine. Havent had an issue with them, specifically. But the transportation is where my issue lies. Back in April 2018, my 3.5 yr old special needs son was left on a bus for over an hour and a half bc their sub got “lost” in small neighborhood in LITH. My daycare provider had to call me to tell me his bus was over 30 minutes late. When i called transportation & asked whyi wasnt notified, they told me bc they were short staffed & there was a flood of parents calling, which is understandable. But my son ended up being the ONLY ONE on the bus for more than an hour and i still was not notified by the D158 transportation. After calling several times, i finally asked if his tegular aide was on the bus too, jennifers heimich’s response was “yes”. Then, i asked why the aide didnt give the sub driver directions. Jennifers response was “because the aides are their for the children, not to give directions”. I was flabergasted as i had been going back and forth with her about my toddler being on a bus, alone & scared, for over an hour. THAT WAS HER RESPONSE! I was then told they had to FIND where this bus was so they could send another driver to pick up my son (yes they made him transfer busses). All the while, this neighborhood BACKS UP TO THE DISTRICT AND TRANSPORTATION CAMPUSES!!! I am so happy that we are moving to a different district. Not happy bc my son loved D158s ECC program but happy we wont have to deal with this nasty woman & their lack of effecient operations.This incident occured bedore i was told hy a coworker that their drivers would instruct kids to clean up other kids vomit. This led to the clunty health department having to do an education class for all bus drivers and aides. That tells you something. What also tells you something are their persistant signs all over the school campuses, looking to hire bus drivers with absolutely no experience, they say theyll train. If yore going to train drivers with no experience, do it correctly.They also had an incident last september (2017) where an aide physically assaulted a 4 yr old special needs girl AND WAS NEVER FIRED! Just given a desk position and told he cant work with kids. UNBELIEVEABLE!

I have only been here for a year as a freshman and i hate it already, the staff sucks, teachers are mean and district refuses to do anything about it..... really? you guys claim to be the best school around this area? prove it.
