I was always interested in martial arts and have some experience in other styles. But as I got older, I was in search of a style that would allow me to progress regardless of age (within reason) and I discovered Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu. I have been training with this group for over seven years and it is a classical martial art taught in a very traditional Japanese manner. It is a deeply sophisticated art where minute details can make a big difference in the outcome of a technique. Obviously, the physical aspects of a combat art are important but I truly believe that being a person of integrity and good character are equally important in enhancing your training with this art. We are all anxious to train again after the restrictions.

This art is not for everyone. It suits those looking to dedicate long term study to very deep, fundamental principles of martial arts and general strategy. We have seen students from 16 year old young women to gentlemen well into their 60s and 70s on the mat together. This is a traditional Japanese martial art taught and studied utilizing traditional methods. If that is what you seek, look no further.

Really good group to train with and the martial art taught here will challenge you physically and mentally. Techniques arent the only thing learned here, the mental, and cultural aspects are learned was well. Truly enriching. Just like everybody else in the group, we miss the mats and putting on our gi.

If you want to see what it’s like to train in a authentic Japanese martial art, this is your place. As far as an orthodox or authentic DaitoRyu dojo goes, you will not Find many around. This is a rare find.
