My son has been attending this daycare for 3 years now. He loves the daycare and seeing his friends and teachers. They are all amazing. During the school year the daycare bus picks him up from school. With all the hectic and stress from work I at least have my mind at ease knowing the my child is being well taken care of. Mrs. Rachel is so nice and compassionate and she sincerely cares about all the kids and them staying busy and active while also learning. The staff there hasn’t changed they are very dedicated. I highly recommend this daycare to parents. I truly am thankful for this daycare and staff.

Brookhaven has been a great place for my twins from day one. They started as an infant and even then they were learning - sign language, Chinese, Spanish, crawling and walking. Both of my daughters are now in gifted and talented programs at the public school. The teachers know how to create a curriculum that is compelling, developmentally appropriate and truly integrated. I can honestly say that Brookhaven is one of the strongest programs I have witnessed in terms of teacher quality, curriculum development, and sense of community for both children and parents alike. They have nurtured a love of Spanish, an appreciation for the arts, and a healthy sense of self in our children. We value all the teachers and their daily commitment to our children and recommend this school to our friends without hesitation.

Our 5 year old son has been at Brookhaven since he was 2 years old. The atmosphere is family-like but extremely professional. Our son has grown to love going to school and he hates to leave at the end of the day! All the staff of Brookhaven is very caring and helpful to us the parents and the little ones. My wife and I are thoroughly impressed with a) the rates, b) the professionalism c) how happy all the kids are and how well behaved d) learning focus. Let me mention, in particular, the tuition rate has not change since our son started here!

A warm and friendly environment. This is the third preschool we tried and it turns out to be the best choice for our son. Our sons learning and behavior improved tremendously. We couldnt thank his teachers enough. Great choice!

Both of my children (6 and3) attended Brookhaven. My 6 year old attended before he started kindergarten and the summer before kindergarten and he liked it just fine. The first problem we had, was when a staff member at Brookhaven allowed a woman I have never met (she is a friend of my ex husband but I have never seen her, talked to her, or met her) to pick up both of my children!!! WITH OUT MY KNOWLEDGE! My ex husband and I have a pick up schedule that Brookhaven was aware of and it was not even a day that my ex husband was supposed to pick up. I didn’t call the school and neither did my ex to make any arrangements for anyone to pick up. My ex husband texted me when I was on my way home and asked my why his friend’s had the boys. I was so confused so I called Brookhaven and asked where my kids were and I was told that my “ex husband’s sister” had picked them up. They didn’t check ID or their pick up list. They didn’t even call me or my ex husband to confirm. They just released my children to a complete strange! I was a horrible situation. I should have pulled them out of Brookhaven right then! But after much thought and reassurance from the director and the staff that nothing like that would never happen again and they promised my boys would be safe, I gave them another chance. (My boys had been through a lot over the previous year and I wanted them to have stability not another change!)My oldest son started kindergarten and went to kids club, however, my 3 year old still attended Brookhaven.Everything was fine for a few months but then I started noticing some changes in my son. He HATED going to Brookhaven and cried every morning at drop off. My son has a bit of a speech delay so he isn’t as verbal as you average 3 year old. Not to mention the fact that he just turned 3 in Dec. Towards the end of our time at Brookhaven, I was getting a phone call or a report everyday saying my son had done something (bit another child, hit, kicked, etc.) I also started to notice my son had bite marks, scratches, and unusual marks on him. I asked the staff about the marks and I was always told that they didn’t know what happened. I decided it was best for our family to find a new school. We are now attending a our new school and my 3 years has not gotten in to any trouble AT ALL. I am told by his new teach everyday what a joy he is to have in class and how he is such a sweet, helpful boy. My son runs into his new school and he is so happy to be there! He is like a complete different kid!I really wish I would have seen how miserable he was at Brookhaven and gotten him out sooner! I should have paid attention to the red flags!

We are fortunate to find this school. After trying different schools in the area, we were wondering if we have to move to find a better school for our son. The school principal at our older sons school recommended this school to us. Her son was at this school 4 years ago. Teachers here are passionate and committed. Real educators and have been with the school for years! Parents also get involve in different activities.

As a single working parent that needs some flexibility in school schedules due to custody arrangement, Brookhaven Academy is a complete blessing. My two years old daughter has been at this school since she was 10 months old. She loves to go to school and loves her teachers. She prayed for her teacher every night when one of her teachers was in the hospital for several months. She has come out of her shell, made lots of friends and we could not be happier. I chose the school after it was highly recommended to us by a co-worker, and I would recommend it to anyone! I just enrolled my 5 months old a month ago and he is doing so well! I love the teachers and staff!

This school is amazing. Our daughter started here two years ago. She made so many friends here and learned so much in just two years. She is always singing (sometimes in Chinese!) when driving home from the school.

Brookhaven AcademyBefore I start I would like to say that this was just my experience with this school. This does not mean that is a bad school, however unfortunately the Brookhaven School did not meet my expectations. My son has been going through a difficult phase at this time, even still he was expelled from their program. He is a good boy, but he had a diffucult time adapting to the new envirimnent and progtam. He had the common defense reaction that every 2-year-old starts to have. He needed to be taught how to deal with his own feelings (when understood). My expectations was that an adult to solve problems that they he alone can not.I already got calls to pick up my son simply because he did not want to sleep. (Yes he has a different schedule from other families). Usually my son is tired at 3pm in the afternoon. I did everything I could to keep my son following the rhythm of school. For example, my husband leaves at 7 in the morning to go to work, to return home at 8 or 9 oclock in the evening. and for this reason I did not have time to put my son in bed at 7. (when I get home from work after picking him up from school). Considering I still have dinner to cook, clothes to wash, and to leave my son awake so that he sees his father every day. Because of this he goes to sleep at 9, to wake up the next morning. As such my first disappointment started when the school could not understand my son not wanting to sleep, and call me to quit my job, and go get my son when they were trying to make him sleep and begans crying. In addition, I advise you to take pictures of any scratches your child may have. I have often seen my son injured and have not taken pictures. For example, Ive seen scratches, a bump on the forehead, scratches on the back and close to the eyes. The school advised me that my son pushed another child, which was wrong)however he should have explained to me why he did it. (I do not want to defend his mistake) But I can only understand the reasons to teach him when he himself tells me what happens, like the children were kicking the toys that was in his hand.He speaks Portuguese and speaks English. We have already received a written message from the school saying that my son was BULLYING because my son repeated the name of another child. When Im actuality she only cried because she did not understand what he was saying. What he was actually telling her was that she could not hit him.Unfortunately with these events I do not feel that the school has a sense of a 2 year olds early child development. My son can hardly explain his feelings in Portuguese, so little in English. What makes me more disappointed is that when my son arrived with a bump on the forehead purple ,nobody could tell me what happened. when he arrived with scratches on his back, no one told me that this had happened. but they are the first to complain when my child does something wrong. Without understanding what is happening to him either. Finally, we arrived at a time when my son cried to not enter the school, he constantly asked me to change schools. But I believed it was a childs thing, because when hes not in school hes with me at home.he told me that he wanted to go to another school to be a good boy, because in this school he was not a good boy.this is a bit of our expectation in 4 months at this school. For me the ideal would be for the child to enter school already knowing how to speak well and express himself so that parents can better follow their children in school.😪👋

My son has been attending to Brookhaven preschool for three month now. I would give it ten stars if I COULD!He was ten month when he started. The three teachers are amazing!!! They are always patience with all my needs. As a first time parent, I had a lot of concern before I chose daycare. After two time observations in this class, I decided to bring my baby to Brookhaven. The reasons are: First, all the teachers are very friendly and reliable. Second they all have bachelor and above degree in education! The third, they are truly love these babies. I brought our own homemade baby food to the school in the first day and I wanted the teacher to feed him four times a day (Two snacks, Breakfast and Lunch) So the teachers are not only feed him on time but also record it for me everyday. I was really appreciated!!! My mother-in-low came to visit us on January, she walked to school several times without notice and she loves it so much!! She told me that all the teachers are wonderful and well educated to take care of babies. They send us Curriculum every Monday. They learn Music, Spanish, art and sign language everyday!! Can you Imagine that my 13 month baby who can sit entire time during the circle time??How Cute!! I cant believe it until my mother-in-low told me!! I wish she recorded it for me !! He has learned a lot from this class!! I collected all his art work. Some of my friends told me that Their babies are suffering by the diaper rash. Thank God, My baby never had that!!!I would highly recommend this school !This is the best childcare place I have seen!! The tuition is very seasonable comparing to other school. I have recommended this place to my friends and neighbors and they have been grateful for it.

I would select no stars but that isnt an option. I was referred to this school by a co-worker. My sons will be 2 and 4 and I was looking for a school with more hours and summer care. When I saw the website and spoke to Dr. Wong (owner) on the phone I was very impressed. My husband, mom, and I went to visit the school last week. Within the first 5 minutes in the building my mom made a comment, Ive seen enough. She had see one of the teachers yelling at a child in the 2 year old class. We continued with the tour but my mom lingered behind to check this teacher out. We walked into her classroom and she was slow talking, the kids looked like zombies, they werent doing anything productive, and they looked very scared. While Dr. Wong took us on the tour, I kept my eye on this classroom. We observed a teacher in the Taekwondo class send a little boy out and told them to bring him to Ms. Sirah (the same teacher that was yelling). He was about 4 and she was the 2 year old teacher. When he got into the classroom she grabbed him by the arm and started yelling at him. My mom asked one of the admins if this teacher was the school disciplinarian. She said, Yes, we send the problem children to her when they act up. During the visit my mom said she saw this woman physically spank two children on the bottom. I saw her aggressively grab multiple children. We left out of there and we were in agreement that our children would never attend this school. I called Dr. Wong today and told him of what we observed and why we decided to not enroll our children, he tried to act surprised by the information. He told me that they dont use her as the disciplinarian, but I immediately corrected him and let him know that we saw them send the kids in to be disciplined. I think these parents need to know that their children are being physically abused.
