My daughter and I absolutely love the Montessori School at StarCreek!! Within a matter of a couple of weeks my toddlers vocabulary doubled, if not more than tripled. Her manners are superb, and her behavior has drastically improved. All of the staff are very warm, loving, and nurturing. They tend individually to each childs need. We have had a 2 of our children attend The Montessori School at StarCreek thru the years. Our children really grew both in education and as a person during their time at the school. We really liked the well rounded education they received. They learned to garden, expand their creativity in art, science, etc. We also really liked the fine arts part of the curriculum and the school plays and presentations. In terms of the Montessori work, we like the hands on learning. In math, our daughter really grasped the understanding of how to multiply numbers with the Montessori materials. The teachers and staff were great in communication to us and to our children.

Of course, the size of the school is great. You feel your child is safe. The teachers do seem to really care; however, the school really does a poor job with communication and access to teachers. We switched to public school, and it is amazing how we get daily feedback and can email the teacher if we have questions.Specifically relating to COVID-19, we got 1 maybe 2 updates, no refunds, of course, and the curriculum was on Facebook and consisted of links to videos on youtube. So i always had to sit with my son and make sure he was not clicking on other enticing videos during class. Allen ISD has really got it right (and it is free). They use google classrooms for live classes and online school work. No regrets to switching to public school.

We are relatively w to the area and started our younger child at the Montessori School at StarCreek at the end of the summer. We have been very impressed with the staff of the school. Our daughter is having a great time and learning a lot. We feel very safe with the protocols the school has put in place such as hand washing, wearing a mask, etc.Given that both my wife and I work, we needed a school that could provide a great education for our child and also allow us to go back to work. We are very happy with this school.

The Montessori School at StarCreek has been fantastic for our child. We started in January of this year and the Director, front office staff, and teachers have been beyond exceptional.During the Covid crisis, the school staff has been so helpful to our family. When the school first closed, we got a packet of supplies including Montessori materials to use at home with the lessons. In May, all the teachers were teaching live classes to my child. It was amazing how much my child progressed in those small group sessions! We took the summer off and our child started the fall semester in early August. He has really enjoyed being back in the classroom with their teacher and friends. I was a little apprehensive at first, but they are doing a great job with washing hands, wearing masks, social distancing, etc.We are just so happy with how the Montessori School at StarCreek has become an extended family to our child and to us. We plan on having our child here thru the entire elementary program.

We attended this school from November of 2019 until March when the school closed due to the pandemic. Our one year old was just starting to walk and was in a class with a great student - teacher ratio with a great lead teacher who communicated perfectly and seemed to sincerely enjoy kids. She left a few months after we enrolled.Issues that looking back I should have voiced (but in trying to be understanding I did not). Their bookcases were turned backwards ALWAYS. Why have them if you are not going to let the kids use the books, materials, toys? They hardly ever had books and toys out for the kids to amuse themselves. Whenever I picked up my child the kids were milling around in basically an empty room. I presume it was because they would make a mess? They hardly went outside, maybe it was too cold at that time of year-- but even in indoor gym they were just running around with maybe one ball? Sometimes with nothing. I did say something once but the assistant teacher acted like this was normal. SO basically another empty room. One of the floating teachers would talk sternly to the toddlers who were just doing what toddlers are supposed to do- touch, explore, talk! And what do you expect if you do not provide things for the toddlers to explore? They are going to touch and explore things in the room that you dont need them to like drawers, getting up on tables- these children need stimulation! For what you pay at this school there was very little value education-wise. Good childcare, very little education. After the closure due to the pandemic, we were offered a credit for half of March, were not charged for April, but because they require us to pay one months tuition in advance they already had our May tuition and were only going to offer a credit for that as well. They were open in May with online learning- but an 18 month old is not going to sit still in front of a computer all day nor would I want him to. After emailing several times I received the same canned responses, polite but obviously refusing refunds and offering credit for the future. I explained we were moving (which we were, and have already moved to West Frisco) and unable to use the credit or online learning. Same canned responses. Claiming fairness to all families they would not make an exception. What I find unfair is that the families who get to continue attending the school get their money back to use for a different months tuition, but if you leave then you lose the money completely. How is that fair and equitable? Next claim was that the tuition agreement states there are no refunds to provide consistent or reliable staff. Our awesome lead teacher was gone after 2 months, and the Director herself stated she let go 45+ teachers after pandemic closures so clearly she didnt have to pay them. She was profiting off of her tuition agreement clause (requires 45 days notice) which was designed to protect her if a family did not provide proper notice (which is understandable). She did not charge April tuition because obviously you should not charge people if you cannot provide a service! But somehow the logic switched in May? My child is one - we paid for childcare not online learning. Finally, I spoke to the person who recommended this school to me years ago and received an update from her that her family left because with this school money is the priority. I sought her opinion as she had more experience with the school than I had, and I wanted to make sure I was reading the Director fairly. She advised the Director cares about the bottom line, and that if it has to do with not refunding money, then it has nothing to do with the pandemic. This is her reputation. Further supporting this the Director advised me refunding the pre-paid tuition would put her school at risk. Sad, but we are all going through financial trouble due to the pandemic - and that is not a justification for unconscionably keeping our pre-paid tuition. SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

I would like to add to my previous review of Montessori Starcreek under Davine L. It appears since my initial post 1 week ago, several 5 star reviews of the facility appeared out of nowhere. In fact, within a few hours of my initial post, two individuals, one by the name of John W stating he would give the facility 10 stars, popped up. Then, the post mysteriously disappeared after I noted the coincidence (lets see if more 5 star posts appear / disappear the next few days). Anyone reading these reviews, please do so with a discerning eye. Read the negative reviews carefully because at least you know these are real reviews by concerned parents and notice the same problems were brought up over the span of several years. I sincerely hope no family will lose over $1000 like we did, esp during these difficult times.

We have had our daughter here for a few years and are really satisfied with TMS.We started at TMS when she was 4. We really love their program and staff. This school is a significant step up from other schools that we had looked at, and they really take good care of our daughter. We have not seen a campus for a Montessori school that is even close to and as big and nice as this one. It literally has everything you would want at a school.Their programs are well structured, and a lot of care and thought goes into their education. The Director does a great job of running the place. I loved the concept of Montesorri as there are no bad children. This school truly opened my eyes in how children learn as whole. My daughter has been going to this school for 5 years and loves every minute of it.1. Building: the school is amazing, no expense has been spared when it comes to school supplies, furniture or all around maintenance of the building.2. Teachers: the teachers at this school are all amazing, they work closely with each student to make sure the curriculum is specific to each students knowledge level.3. Extra Curricular Activities: The school offers a ton of extras (classes/clubs/activities) to name a few: Dancing, Gymnastics, Manners, Piano, Chess, Singing, etc......4. Education: Wow what can I say, my daughter just finished 4th grade and I am shocked at her Math and English level. I can honestly say that her spelling skills have long passed me up. She is currently working on Fractions, Decimals and the beginning levels of Algebra understanding. I do want to mention, this school is not for the parent that wants to set it and forget it when it comes to homework. Rachael spends a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum 1 hour per day doing homework and studying.5. Price: The school is not cheap it is also not expensive however this school will give your child the foundation they will need to do well in high school and excel in college.6. Cleanliness: UNBELIEVABLE, this school has a full time janitor/cleaning person on staff and as soon as kids leave to go for their activities the classes are quickly cleaned.I want to thank Mrs Monica and all of Rachaels teachers for taking care of my daughter while my wife and I are at work. You have a very special place in our hearts and we are forever grateful to you all for the great job you did and continue to do for our daughter.

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the adminstration and staff at TMS. I know this situation we are all navigating is challenging, but the TMS team has excelled (as always) in making our family feel safe, secure, and confident that they are exceeding the demands of health precautions and ensuring sanitation, health, and cleanliness of all at school. TMS is the only place we feel comfortable in allowing our children to go during this time. Thank you for all your dedication and continued hard work for our children and family. Our son (now 6) has been attending since 18 months old and now our daughter is doing the same. They both have thrived at TMS and look forward every day to go to school. The staff are extensions of our family and have such a large part in helping our children to grow and learn. We love TMS!

We moved to North Texas last September and I had to quickly choose a preschool for my 5 years old daughter. Unfortunately, this was a not a good choice. Today (3 months later since she started) I withdrew my daughter from the school. She kept telling me for months how her primary teacher was screaming and yelling at the children. Well, last night she told me how teacher hit her several times when trying to wake up my daughter. I know children can make stories, but first I trust my daughter what she says. Second, I saw myself how the teacher was treating little children. No communication with children, just grabbing them by their arms. And this is Montessori school???? Where is this gentle quiet teaching approach atmosphere that I was looking for? Avoid the school. Look somewhere else.

We enrolled our 3 y/o at Montessori School at Starcreek beginning of March 2020. We were asked to pay tuition of $1175 (registration fee + tuition of $955 per month for 3 days per week). Besides thinking the tuition was rather steep (double the national average), I was initially taken aback when they asked us to keep our child home for two weeks citing both lead teachers being on vacation as reason. This is the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic. I later found out other kids in the classroom werent asked to stay home, just our daughter. I am guessing because we are Asian American so presumed COVID-19 positive? I felt uneasy but did not pursue the matter and just went along with their request. Then right before our daughters first day of school, they called and informed us school was closed with no explanations as to reason. This is before shelter in place. So after 2 weeks of waiting, were back where we started, with no childcare. We never heard from Montessori Starcreek again, until I contacted them end of April to request withdrawal and refund. My email requests went ignored initially. When they finally responded I was informed we could do online classroom or receive $520 in refund. We decided against online classroom since its really not the same service we paid for. The facility continued to ignore my request for refund so I emailed them again and was told no amount will be refunded but school is reopening on June 1st and we have the option of attending summer school. We turned down the offer again as we had already made childcare arrangements by then. They couldn’t reasonably expect us to go 3 months without reliable childcare and suddenly make ourselves available to attend school on demand or take a $1175 loss. The schools attitude was tough luck, your problem. After requesting tuition refund for over a month to no avail, I informed the school via email that I would share our experience online and with friends and family. Within a few hours they got themselves an experienced attorney from a large legal firm to reach out to me. Their lawyer insisted that if we wanted our tuition refund, we sign settlement agreement (to not share about our experience online, via social media etc). Needless to say, we turned down the offer because by this point were more than fed up with all the dishonest dealings of Montessori at Starcreek. From effectively quarantining our 3 y/o because of my childs skin color, kicking her out of school, profiting from the pandemic by charging for service never rendered, hiring a lawyer to intimidate and silence us, this is pretty terrible way for a business to treat their customer, not to mention breach of trust for an institution in charge of providing care and moral guidance to our children.Another thing that really bothered me was when I first toured the facility, I heard a teacher scream on top of her lungs at a little boy who ran out of his classroom in tears. Never heard an adult scream at a child this way in my life, no less an educator. Scroll down and read the bad reviews and you will realize this is far from an isolated incident. I wish I had paid attention to this problem before deciding to enroll my child here. We as parents rely on the honest reviews of other parents to make informed decisions about childcare. I would rather take a financial loss than send my child to a place like Montessori at Starcreek that puts profit above the wellbeing of children. Hopefully, other parents wont have to.FYI, Within literally a few hours of me posting this review, two individuals, one claiming to be Asian (by the name of John W stating he would give the facility 10 stars) popped up. Seriously?

I had seen some negative reviews on Google reviews about this school some time ago. I asked the director about them when we came in for a tour. She indicated that a disgruntled worker had left and complained to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. I asked if she had a copy of that report. She said that they are only required by the state to keep a year of reports, but that she would look for them. She did provide the original investigation report and the follow up report. However, the follow up report was missing pages and was cutoff in one section. I did not ask her about them. Instead, I just jotted down the report numbers so that I could ask the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services for the full reports. What was more odd was that, though we were told that they have plenty of room before we came in, the Director repeatedly mentioned that she would need to check if they had room after I asked for the reports. The next day, they told us that our daughters age group had no more room. Later on that day, a friend of ours called to verify this information since she also was interested in having her son who was the same age attend this school. They told her that there was plenty of room. If you are the type of parent that likes to be stay informed about the complaints to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services that occur at the school, you may not get along with the director.

I had the worst experience with this Montessori who looks up to parent’s income level, status, and appearance. They are not welcoming, and once they dont like someone on the status of rich or poor, educated like doctor or engineer wont even answer their phone calls. Always keep them in a waiting list, and always there is no occupancy. They evaluate a child on his or her first time Montessori experience and then give them the admission. They discriminate them on racial, money, and education status that I am about to complain to the AMS that grant them the certificate on the bases of education not on the bases of discrimination. I had never experience this with any Montessori that never have occupancy in their class room from last two years. All of the sudden your name doesnt exist in a waiting list, because you tried to explain to the director about your bad experience with him staff and raise your voice for the discrimination you have experience. They ask you to come for a tour without letting you know if there is space or not then they judge you on the bases of appearance, status, and occupation. Next they evaluate your child on his first time Montessori experience and if he or she cries he did the biggest crime in his life time and not acceptable in their school environment. Because they want a child who is already for school so they dont have to work hard to adjust them in the class room. Then you call them anonymously go there evaluate your child again the next year space is available child is adjusting well, because of previous Montessori experience in last one year. The space will be available when you call them anonymously and when you go there to see them within 15 minutes the space is not available. The school who give your child the environment of racism discrimination, rich vs. rich will develop your child brain with positive approach towards life and world I highly doubt on it! I found the better Montessori compare to this who at least serving the community for the BEST EDUCATION for your child not operating for MONEY or SHOW OFFS All I wanted my child to have the best education and it was near my house, but now I doubt on it! I found the exemplary school for my child who charge less, give you respect, welcoming, and not racist. I am sharing this for other parent’s information and to spread the work about this school environment.

Ive waited a little while to put my review of this school online but I am hoping that as a newly relocated family this honest review will be helpful to those looking for the right school for their child. Our daughter was in the toddler program and attended the school from approximately 19 months to 24 months old. I completely agree with several of the reviews that state the director does a great job of keeping the school free from serious problems - but tends to simply smooth over, or run over, any negative feedback from parents. My husband and I are very busy working parents and for months we just assumed that our daughter was receiving excellent care in a warm and loving environment. We then unexpectedly witnessed on a few occasions teachers yelling at the children. The yelling was not witnessed with our child however, when I brought this to the attention of the director I was told that she would look into it. I explained to her that I thought Montessori taught positive re-direction and was surprised to see this type of behavior. She later called me and explained that I needed to understand that training is always required and that sometimes these things will happen. This made me uneasy and I immediately started to have a bad feeling. All I wanted to hear was that of course the behavior is unacceptable and that it would be addressed but what I got was excuses. Also, instead of our daughter having a consistent teacher throughout as it had been explained to us we found that within 6 months she had been with 4 different teachers and in the summer program she interacted with 4 different teachers throughout the day. I understand all the reasons for this (i.e., school has to have a summer break, etc.) but it was only explained to us later not up front when enrolling and making our decision. The bottom line is that for the MOST part Front staff and teachers are good, competent, and caring. However, we found that we couldnt guarantee this type of environment for our daughter on a regular basis and even though I agree second chances are worth it for some things in life...my childs care is not one of the areas I allow second chances to be given.Turnover seems to be a problem at this school and I was told several times by the director, when explaining why we had so may different teachers, that I wouldnt want high turnover so the different teachers were necessary in the summer program. What I found with the summer program however is that the different teachers were not necessarily held to a high bar for education or the Montessori values either. In general, I do agree that Most teachers seem to be doing a good job but it couldnt be guaranteed that our child would end up with these teachers on a regular basis and the ones we had issues with of course would receive more training which doesnt change anything. I do agree that in general parents are routinely brushed aside and glossed over. Everything cant be perfect, but we are not stupid either. If you decide to go here make sure and stick to your points and spot-check them. You will have to ASK for communication and repeatedly, But dont take it at face value, they are good at saying what you want to hear. Get a good teacher that you can communicate with, stay on top of things, and you will probably be happy here. I will say that the building is gorgeous and they do offer a variety of activities. So, if you end up here just know that in general I do think its got a lot of positives however, you need to manage closely the care of your child and check in often. If you cant do this because of a demanding work schedule I suggest that you look elsewhere because this is not a place to leave your child without close supervision. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know where weve moved our child to and the differences. I didnt put that here because I wanted this to be a truthful review for the Montessori School. Thank you.

I withdrew my child from this school after trying it for about 6 months. On our tour I was so impressed with the open library and beautiful layout of classrooms. I tried to convince myself that the structured environment and stern teachers were good for my preschooler, but on several occasions I saw shouting and yelling at little kids that I just could not handle. I started dropping in everyday to just peek in on my child through the classroom window and would see only silent kids sitting at desks or on spots on a rug. None of the kids talked to each other. During story time where the teacher read out loud in a circle, when the kids tried to point out something they saw on the page or tried to make a comment, they were quickly hushed by the teacher. It was painful to watch their curiosity and questions cut off. I know people say kids need to toughen up and be prepared for the real world but there is plenty of time for them to deal with this stuff later on. I do not recommend this environment for kids.

Our daughter Zoe has been attending The Montessori School at Star Creek (TMS) for over 2 years. She started in Pre-K and now is in Elementary grade. We are extremely pleased with the entire staff and above all her teacher for the first 22 months Ms. Kanwal. She has helped Zoe build a solid foundation, learn how to interact with kids of different age groups, excel in her work at school at a very very young age. We believe that this is achieved by providing each child with individual attention and tailoring the teaching to fit their level and needs. We cannot be more pleased with the entire experience and the level of attention each individual child gets at this school. We are also very pleased with teaching methods of Montessori system and all the extra-curricular activities kids are involved in at TMS. My daughter has been going to Montessori at Starcreek since she was 18 months old. At first she was going for only a couple of hours a week twice a week but now she is full-time. Shell be 4 soon. Ever since she started attending this school, her transformation has been amazing. She used to be shy around others and barely spoke a few words. Now she is a confident little girl, and her vocabulary is amazing. She is learning so much more at school than what I can teach her on my own. The staff there is amazing. I get weekly calls on her progress. They have extra curricular activities such as gymnastics and dance, which is convenient as I dont have to drive her to another place for those activities. Ms. Frances was her teacher in the toddler class and she was instrumental in working with my daughters specific needs at that time. Ms. Veena is her current teacher in the primary class whom my daughter just adores! Ms Veena is caring and passionate about my childs well-being. She gives me regular updates on how my child is doing academically as well as socially. We are happy to be a part of the TMS family.

My oldest son was the very first student at this school (we literally toured in hard hats) and we had a wonderful experience! He attended primary and lower elementary classes & has mainstreamed beautifully into our local school district. Its been a few years since he left, so I decided to shop around before putting my younger son in preschool. While looking at the other top preschools in the area, I found most of them to have had a lot of turnover since I looked with my first child. Many were unclean (one smelled of mildew & most had dirty carpets; etc.) Many had new managers, unfriendly or unprofessional staff and almost all of them had a lot of children crying. I was pretty discouraged.I saved TMS for last because I knew how much I liked it when my first child attended. I was hoping it hadnt gone downhill like the others. When I walked in, the same front desk worker from 5 years before greeted me! The same Director is there, and many of the same teachers from years before were still there. (This speaks volumes about the way the school is being managed, imho) The building is light, bright & CLEAN. There were no children crying. This is something I notice when visiting this particular school-- its always quiet. The kids are happy there. When I enrolled my second child, I found out his teacher didnt just have her Montessori certification, she also had a Bachelors Degree from UNT (my Alma mater-- Go Mean Green!) and she had been at the school for 6 years. This blew me away! Who else is hiring preschool teachers that are this educated and keeping them on staff for 6+ years??I also have to say, all the teachers and classroom assistants my boys have had at this school have been wonderful. My younger son is flourishing there, just as my older son did! The Montessori method fosters a life-long love of learning and its been so much fun to see my younger son just as excited about going to school as my older son was. I am truly grateful to have found this school and I highly recommend it!

My son attends The Montessori School at Starcreek and we couldnt be happier with it. This will be his third year at TMS and have been fortunate to have had loving and caring teachers that not only have taken care of him but have taught him, at 3 years old, how to write, read and do math. His Toddler Teacher, Ms. Michelle, is absolutely amazing. Wished she could have moved to Primary when my son moved to Primary, however, Ms. Vineeta and Ms. Roxana, my sons Primary Teachers are wonderful. They are patient with kids but at the same time firm when kids need direction. I love the structure and the consistency the school provides to kids. I appreciate the partnership the school encourages between teachers and parents. It has proven to be beneficial to the advancement of my sons education and promotes active learning based on each kids pace. Im proud of my son that at 3 years old, he is reading, doing math and is exposed to science, art and grammar at such a young age. I would recommend TMS to all the parents that are looking for a caring, loving place for their child while preparing kids for elementary school. I know my son will be well prepared when starting 1st grade at our school district thanks to his loving teachers and school core values.

We couldnt be happier with our experience at The Montessori School at Starcreek. Our eldest child started attending the school 3 years ago, and we have subsequently sent our middle daughter and youngest boy. Neither my husband or I grew up with a Montessori background, and weve both been so impressed with the level of learning and the quality of the school. The school is kept very clean and the facility is beautiful. The staff is always willing to help in any way they can. Most importantly, the teachers are wonderful. Weve had our children in 3 different classes over the last 3 years (graduating from the toddler class, and siblings are in separate primary classes). In all of these classes, the teachers have not only taught our children independence and respect for others, but how to read by age 4. I feel so good when I drop my kiddos at school knowing that they will be safe, learn a great deal, and be loved. This, above all else, has been why weve stayed at TMS. It gives us great confidence to know that in addition to all of the great learning, they are treated with love, affection, and a positive attitude. Thank you, to everyone at TMS for making our childrens first experience in a school setting such a fantastic one. A parent can only hope for such a positive start to the love of learning.

Our son entered Ms. Veena’s P6 class in January, 2015 and immediately we were impressed by how much she cared about our child and the attention she pays towards his well being and happiness. Ms. Veena is very gentle, loving and caring towards our high energy child and uses impressive experience, intelligence and common sense to assist us in managing his transition into pre-school. We have been able to communicate regularly and often with Ms. Veena about our child, discussing his needs and progress. Ms. Veena and Ms. Monica (Director) have always made time for our family, no request is ever any trouble. We have had an excellent experience with this school and recommend it to others.
