This was my first time here and I only came here because of all the awesome reviews I had read about the school and their students. I came in for a haircut and partial balayage. Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the front desk to other students and the instructors . I can’t thank Julissa my stylist who did my hair she is very knowledgeable and is confident in her ability to to do hair and required very little help from the instructors. I know ,I made her work hard as I had used box dye on my hair for a long time and she had to strip that out of my hair first before she could cut and color my hair. I cannot thank her enough she did such an amazing job ,I have received so many compliments on the color and style. Looking forward to my next appointment in 4 weeks. I’m sad though she will be graduating after my next appointment and I wish her the best !! Thank you again:)

I had the best facial and back massage with Lois! She was so sweet and did a great job with the massage. She worked on all my pressure points and made sure I had a best relaxing time. She also made me feel very comfortable and overall I had a 5-star experience!!I would highly recommend Lois to anyone !

Ive been to beauty schools before to get my hair cut and my daughters haircuts. It hasnt always gone very well. SOOOOOOO slow and SOOOOO basic. Our experience at The Beauty Institute was VERY different with a beautiful space, wonderful students that were friendly and professional, and a fantastic staff who were quick to check the progress and give great instruction, making the final product beautiful! Highly recommend to save a TON of money and have a great experience.

Holly has so much talent. She really took the time to talk to me about what I wanted and was patient with me even though I was indecisive. She explained every step of the process with me and and super nice. I look forward to visiting her in the beginning of the year to go back to blonde and watch her work her magic.

I was in the mall and stopped by today and pretty sure was lied to about services they offer. I am natural and have tight curls. After staring at my hair like its existence offended the two women up at the front desk, I was told they dont do simple rollersets ...its on their service list 😑 I told them it was right there on the list and they they dont do it anymore which Im having a seriously hard time to believe. My mom , sister, and neice stood and watched the whole thing play out. I will get to the bottom of this and update my review. But I plan on shouting from the mountain tops if I was discriminated against. Hopefully they ran out of rollers but by the way they treated me I think my hair wasnt the right type. This really is embarrassing for the school either way. Its either they are anti natural hair or they dont have the resources for rollersets 😕

I’ve scheduled an appointment for hair dye for my daughter’s birthday as a surprise for her, we were late 10 min YES, 10 Min only! Rude receptionist said that we need to cancel or reschedule our appointment, seriously??! This shows how unprofessional they are Good that we didn’t have a chance to dye her hair I’m sure her hair would damage (she was crying all day, poor girl) Then another lady came and said same thing that “It’s our policy” bla bla I adked to show me that policy written, they said actually ,generally you can’t get service if you’re 10 min late Of course we will go to professional hair salon to dye her hair. Thank you for making her birthday Day awful.

My stylist was Marlene. She had some help from the teacher but they did an amazing job. One of the best haircuts Ive ever gotten and it was only $5.

I got a facial for the first time ever and I’m so glad I gave this place a try! Very friendly great service!!

I was referred to this school from a metro graduate and was highly unsatisfied with my experience with admissions. I was scheduled to do a tour and on the day of, Wilma had called me to cancel. We rescheduled to the following week and when I arrived, Wilma was still not in attendance, I received my tour from someone else. After my visit, I followed up with Wilma to see about start dates and whether I could speak to other Beauty Institute graduates. During that time, Wilma informed me that the esthetics class I was interested in was full however, she had me down for the full-time program and I specifically stated part-time as I work full-time. Furthermore, she said she would follow-up with me in another week and what do you know… no word from her. I had to follow-up with her on multiple occasions and as someone who is responsible for the admissions, it seems as though she is not very interested in getting people to attend/register. She had followed up with me via telephone AFTER I reached out to another individual at the school. In her voicemail, she acknowledges that she had me down for a call but that “she was not around long enough to make that call.” I had returned her call the following morning only to receive no further communication from her as usual. I had also shared with Wilma that I recently found out I am expecting and my interest in this program is time sensitive, and you would think that her response to my numerous attempts to contact her would have been more prompt. All in all, this has completely turned me off and deterred me from any involvement with this school. I understand that this school is relatively affordable compared to tuition rates at similar beauty schools, however, it obviously comes at the cost of feeling like you are unimportant. I will take my interest elsewhere and gladly pay more money if it means that I will get some sort of attention.

I went to this place today to get my hair done, haven’t put any hair dye in my hair since this exact time last year which is why I chosen to go today to get my hair done. I figured whatever was in my hair had already washed out. Long story short they had NO hot water, they washed my hair with ice cold water! The teacher didn’t care, she not once even THOUGHT to apologize for it nor did she even check on the student once the whole 4 hours I was sitting in the chair!! The student was so nervous didn’t really know what he was doing he had to keep going to look for the teacher while the teacher was to busy playing with the manikins hair and dancing around! Then when I was getting ready to leave I waited to get a total and waited to speak with the teacher and let’s just say she didn’t like the TRUTH that was told to her about how unprofessional she was for a teacher so told me it was free and said I was never welcomed there again. Good thing I wasn’t planning to ever go back anyway!

I’ve been waiting weeks for Wilma to contact me regarding me beginning my classes/ school info. I’ve reach out several times prior to her returning my first call. She reached out to me on the 15th to ask when I’m available to speak, in which I’ve informed her I’m available any time, so please reach out. Up until today I’ve yet to here back from her accept once Despite her promising me she will set up a tour via video. I was supposed to start a school in NY and put them on hold due to me being pregnant and commuting back-and-forth. I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING A PLACE where I have to beg for information!!!! Period

Great work. I think her name was Nicole... I have pitch black hair (box dye) and i just wanted a new fresh look but nothing too extreme. I opted for a caramel brown balyage & a money piece. I had my first appointment here this afternoon and had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly, my stylist was knowledgeable, warm, and professional. I could not have asked for a better result. My stylist Sabina was sweet and friendly she absolutely nailed my cut and color she was incredibly meticulous making sure every strand was perfect and that there wasnta drop of color out of place. I absolutely love my new look and I will definitely be making another appointment with her and highly recommend her and the institute to anyone looking for a great interactive salon experience. Instructor Sheri was also incredible she made sure everything was on point and perfect . You can really tell that everyone here enjoys what they do and is passionate they treat their clients and one another like family and as a girl who hasnt cut her hair in years and is more selective about stylists than doctors I felt at ease and like I was in more than capable hands

The Beauty Institute is my place to go whenever I need to take care of my hair. The students and staff are great. Even if they are students who complete the work, the professors ensure completion is correct. Im always satisfied with my outcome. They consistently exceed my expectations, and when I have doubts or only ideas of what I want to have done, the professors always give me excellent recommendations. The perfect place to have all your beauty needs taken care off!

I went here a couple weeks ago to get balayage highlights and I was so happy with the results! You cant beat the price, especially if you purchase the groupon which saves you even more money. Sofia did a great job on my hair and Ive gotten so many compliments since getting it done! If you are planning on getting a lot done then be prepared to be there for awhile since they are students so it can take longer than a usual salon visit. Overall I highly recommend this salon and I will be back again!

I came here a couple of weeks ago to get a bayalage service done. I was super nervous about it because Ive never dyed my hair before but Shawn did a wonderful job! He understood that I wanted it more subtle and suggested the perfect treatment. The instructor was constantly walking around making sure the students and customers were doing well. I have received several compliments and I tell all of them to go visit this school! Everything about this place is professional but far cheaper! I will be coming back.

The end result far exceeded my expectations. I had highlights and a layered cut done and Ginny was patient and gentle. She made sure to ask her instructor for guidance if she needed it. The academy is clean, plays great music, and has friendly staff and students. This place is a gem! Ill be back for sure.

I havent been there in way too long because of the turmoil our world is in. I called today to see if I could make an appointment. A very nice gentleman took my info and within minutes wilma called me..what an angel. I have to say I was skeptical the first time I went. Much to my mistake. I was in awe of everyone there. I had a young stylist named Olivia . She was great. I loved my cut, highlights and the whole experience. I cant imagine how much better she will get. Cant wait to go back. Til then..stay healthy

I went the esthetics school here, this is the most poorly run school starting from the top. The only thing that kept me going was my passion for skin, my teacher at night Anne, and Wilma who should run the school she is extremely organized and truly cares about students. There was never enough supplies or equipment for how many students they put in the classes. There was black mold. Not enough experience doing things especially waxing. I am lucky to have gotten a job with no help from the school that they do more training than the school. I have learned more after school than I did while in school. My first day they lost my paperwork for a second time, told me I didnt pay. I never missed a day of school or even a minute and somehow my hours were wrong. I wish I wouldve went to another school. Not worth the money or your time. You cant even recommend products and have clients buy it at the school. No training on Dermalogica products and they claim to be a Dermalogica school. Also, makeup artists there is no makeup education even though they promise that. Everyone run far away from this place.

I went here to have a cut and full highlights, when i was there (8-30-17) i got Hanan, she did such an amazing job! She cut, highlighted and styled my hair. I had so many people tell me my hair looked awesome before leaving her chair! I was unsure of what i wanted so i told her to do what she thought wold look great and she sure enough delivered!! I will definitely go back to her and i will be recommending her to everyone i know!!! Great service!!!

Fabulous! My lovely stylist was Shea, who is a graduating senior. I had a single colour process, and my hair is long and thick. When I asked about sensitive scalp, she explained how the line they use is formulated. She also made sure to put lotion around my hairline to keep any stray colour off my skin. The colour came out even, which is awesome! She asked how I wanted it styled, and I told her dealers choice! She curled it into lovely waves. Very well done, and a great price!

Shay gave me a precision cut that totally compliments my persona. The perperfect blend of summer highlights is beyond my expectation. I just got my hair done by Nicole Torres. I couldnt be more happier with the cut and color. Not only is she a great hairstyles her personality is great. She makes you feel comfortable as soon as you meet her.Her teacher Miss Michelle was wonderful. She came over several times to make sure everything was going smoothly. That shows how much she cares and wants her students to succeed! I totally recommend coming to this salon to get your hair done!!!!

I did not like the beauty school in the least. The receptionist was always very snappy, impatient, and borderline rude.I have an expectation that the appointment will last awhile as it is a beauty school, but the girl I had was worse than slow. She had no confidence so she would go very slow in the hopes that the teacher would come by and let her know she was doing okay. It got to the point where she was drying my hair and doing the SAME spot over and over again while looking around for the teacher that I finally told her forget it, it’s dry enough.The teacher that was assigned to her was nice though.I found another beauty school nearby that was better equipped and nicer.

As a current student i can tell you first hand that we are taught by passionate, motivated and motivating teachers. Who invite you to explore your creativity and teach you how to actually do it.. Along with Toni & Guy s in-depth curriculum. You are well equipment for an incredible future in cosmetology. Three months away from graduation and i am already getting job offers and interviews. Honestly if you are considering a career in cosmetology I would definitely recommend Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy.

I hadnt had my hair cut in a year, and was nervous to say the least... she made me feel so comfortable and it was probably the best hair appointment Ive ever had! Was so skeptical the first time I came in, I got Diane she’s part of the evening class and she absolutely killed it! She colored my hair and listened to exactly what I wanted, I went back for a cut the next day. I will definitely be coming back to her or wherever her next adventure is! Danny was the coach working and he was so nice and welcoming. I’ve heard horror stories but they are worth trying!

I bought a groupon to try here. I’ve called 3 different times, 3 different weeks and each time am told there are no walk-ins and they can’t book me for 1-2 weeks. They should not advertise walk-ins on their page if they are always too busy to accept them. I’ve had an easier time getting a hair cut at high end salons. I feel like I wasted money on a groupon for here.

As a student at this Academy I am very pleased to say the it was an experience of a lifetime. I choose this school to further my knowledge in cosmetology and that is exactly what i received. You get what you put out. The teachers/staff are willing to provide you with exceptional knowledge and education.. I Walked into the school knowing a lot and I am now walking out with knowledge that I couldnt imagine adding to my resume. Im very pleased to have chosen Toni & Guy for my continued education.

Olivia was my stylist and Sherene was her instructor. Olivia did a great job and Sherene made sure everything was perfect at each step. See pictures of the amazing job they did!!! I had a cut, shampoo and bayalage done....A thing or two about the institute.... If you go there but only 3 hours to spare, youre never going to get done or be satisfied. Make sure you at least have 6 hours to spare. They will take their time and fix your needs. Remember they are students as well. But the services are low priced but exemplary quality work, but it is time consuming....

Amazing experience! I received the best haircut and color of my life (and Im over 50!) at The Beauty Institute in Allentown.I had an appointment with Sabina. Firstly, Sabina epitomizes style and beauty, which, to me was encouraging. Shes European and seemed to be innately in touch with the essence of fashion and beauty.Sabina was not afraid to consult her teacher, Sheren, for her support and opinions. Sheren gave Sabina help and advice after the two of them listened carefully to what I wanted.I ended up with the best cut and color, exactly what I was hoping for.The cut can go either funky or sophisticated, and the color is perfect. I wanted a cutting edge yet elegant look, and together, Sabina and Sheren succeeded. I am so, so happy. Everyone loves it!!

My experience as a student has been wonderful. I went to nursing school but cosmetology is what I always wanted to do. Now I am following my dreams and making it a reality! I am very happy. The most important part for me is that the teachers are all professional and very kind. They are always willing to help you. I graduate in September and I know that I learned the skills to become a successful cosmetologist.

This is my second time at the institute. This facility is very clean with such friendly workers. These students work so well on their clients with smiles on their faces. Anne does such an amazing job, I love how she does my hair and can hold such a good conversation. I always feel welcomed!

In the years I have been going to the Vision Academy, the staff and students have always been courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable in the work they do. I always walk out happy with my finished product. I enjoy the atmosphere. I enjoy the students and the staff and their laid back attitude yet they demonstrate the utmost professionalism. I enjoy having the ability to make an appointment with the student of my choice once you make that relationship and are comfortable with the student or the option to walk in and wait to be seen. The Vision is clean and that is something important to me. The prices cant be beat as well. If you are looking for good quality work and have to remain within a certain budget, the Vision is a place to swing by and try out!!!

I came today with absolutely no expectations just got a great deal for a full set of highlights including a cut and blow out ($23) but I must say that from the moment I walked in I was treated very kind welcoming. The instructor was so reassuring as she could tell my nerves where on 100 lol. But let me tell you all my stylist her name was Sabina and this girl do some hair he put a full set of blonde highlights and she blended them so well the director thought the color was mine until I told her I don’t have gray hair haha 😂. Then she blow my hair out I have extremely thick and natural curly frizzy hair and she straightened It and curled it perfect WITHOUT A FLATIRON. I will follow this stylist where she goes. Thank you Sabina for making this working mother of 7 feel beautiful again!!!!

I had two awesome experiences! Both times my stylist Anne colored my hair and both times it came out perfect. She listened to what I wanted when looking through the color book and it came out exactly the way I wanted. I will definitely be back.

Really wanted my hair done before returning back to school. Made an appointment with them but it happened to be a day that they closed the school. Got no call from them they were cancelling all appointments. I called them 10 times before my appointments and each time they picked up and then hung up on me. Happened to reschedule my appointment for full highlights with them the next day. I drove all the way there for my appointment for them to tell me they didn’t have the product for highlights. Why schedule me if you can’t do your services. This was a huge waste of time and money.

I would give zero stars if I could. I purchased a groupon made an appt. My appt was for 10am. I called back asked how long I could expect, they said an hour. I get there they came out at 1015 I said I need to be out of here in an hour because I have another appt. She said she couldn’t promise that. I arrived early spoke to the desk and they could come out in time? Won’t even bother again. They act like you’re catering to them because the students need their time in to complete the course. Nope I’m the customer. Show up on time.

My girls are so happy with the work done and the teacher was so wonderful with his students Im going myself next week for a color too looking forward to it!!!

I was unfortunately VERY disappointed with the treatment I was given at this facility. I had gone in as a first time customer with a discount voucher that I had purchased off of the LivingSocial savings website.I had purchased a hair package which covered for both a haircut and FULL highlights. Not only did the receptionist lie to me when I had approached her about the full highlights package, but she also insisted that I pay $20 more for the partial highlights that I was given.Needless to say I was extremely disappointed by the lack of concern for morality shown by this receptionist, as well as simply recognizing my worth as a customer and potential future promoter of the salon. Therefore, I will not be returning to this facility to entrust my hair to be done ever again.

Anne is great! She did color on my hair that was quite difficult to do!! Three different colors that I wanted and she pulled it off flawlessly!! And she is a great stylist too!! Love her!! Im a permanent client!! ✨🌟

She instantly welcomed me, and quickly brought me to the back sink area, and gave me the best shampoo ever...i seriously fell Asleep from the long and relaxing and intense scalp massage. After leading me back to the heater element, she asked if there were any magazines i would like to look at during the wait. I highly recommend Elizabeth and this beauty institute.

I decided to check out the beauty institute for a wash and blow dry. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and great job done on my curly, thick hair. I had my hair done by Juliza R who is amazing. I would definitely be coming to see her again.

My experience at the Vision was amazing, including the teachers, who helped with everything. My hardest thing here was cutting and they reviewed everything with me until I understood and have it so that I can do a haircut with my eyes closed. Ms. Jackie is the bomb. If it wasnt for the Vision Academy and their staff, I would not have accomplished my dreams of being a hairstylist.

I went to Toni & Guy on Saturday to get a color and streaks. They put me with a student Chloe Castillo and she did an outstanding job! I am so in love with how my hair looks the colors are fantastic. What I loved about the experience is that her teacher continually came over to check and give instruction he was amazing. I came in with a picture and my stylist Marylin Mercado exceeded my wildest dreams. Thank you to the teachers at the school and most of all to Marylin. I was so happy that I cried. Thank you girl you made me beautiful again.

I love it.been coming here for years never had an issue never left unhappy.teacher are great and the student do an awesome job.Friendly people from beginning to end. Why go anywhere else.and the prices are not crazy .Always consider them first .

Anne DiFrancesco did an amazing job with my new cut! I was afraid to change my style after having the same do for years. She put me right at ease. She was professional & you would never know that she is new to the world of hairdressing. I will definitely be going back to her in the near future to change up my color. I highly recommend you request her if you are looking for a new beautician!

Instructor Sheren was very helpful and student Gwen did a great job on my hair. Really liked everyone there as they were all friendly & professional. I also liked the guy with the tattoos who helped Gwen with my hair. I just happened to pass the institute while driving through Bethlehem & Allentown. Excellent and very professional place to get your hair done at. Had my hair done by the same person throughout her months here in the Beauty Institute Lisbeth. She is very professional when greeting and does a great job touching up the hair and giving it the final touch that you were looking for.

I would recommend this school and salon to everyone. I would leave some extra time, as the students are learning, but the quality and work put into the services is great! Love it here.

I was here once before years ago and got a pretty good balayage done. I came back in yesterday for balayage and I didnt get what I wanted. I told the receptionist I had a highlight groupon but wanted balayage knowing it might cost more. I wrote it down on the green sheet as long layered cut + balayage. I told the student Teja that I wanted balayage and showed her a few photos with an emphasis on the fact that I wanted to still have my natural color showing through to add dimension. She asked routine questions about box dye and then said something about so a lot of highlights?. I said I was fine with going blonde and bringing the color right up to the root and THOUGHT we were talking baby lights transitioning to balayage.She and another student set to work adding all-over foils. I know the technique for balayage and this wasnt it but I thought maybe they were doing foilayage.I ended up with an ashy highlight through my dark blonde hair. The foil technique left stripey, unattractive streaks that look jarring at the root no matter where I part it.Be sure that you and the student are absolutely on the same page before starting. They might be hearing you and not listening, they might be following what the groupon says or doing what they think is best. The instructors should be with every client/student listening to what the client wants and ensuring the student is doing their best to deliver. The instructors werent very hands on and should be more present during the process.I dont absolutely hate the highlight job but I dont like it.Im going to give this a month and then get stripes soften and blended in the root growth by a local salon.Edited to add:After washing and drying today I realized that the long layered cut and U-cut shape that I asked for is a horrendously choppy,uneven mess which was hidden with strategic curling and styling before showing me the results in the mirror during the session. Also, whats most upsetting is that at least 4 inches were cut when I specifically said no more than 2 inches. Teja initially couldnt figure out how to cut a U-Cut and I suggest asking her teacher if need be. She then said she knew how to do and kept going.The cut is bad. Im starting to deeply regret my visit here. Hopefully a professional can fix the awful cut without taking more length. Ive spent years growing my hair out and it really sucks when someone cuts off 8 months of growth because they dont listen and dont want to ask their instructor for help.

I went to get my hair cut yesterday and had Anne as my stylist. Anne gave me a great haircut and was super friendly and fun to talk to! Will definitely be back :-)

I love it here the hairdresser Ladyee is unique know how to color and style my hair, always smooth ,silky shine, takes time to listen and I am always happy my hair comes out beautiful. Its a school but they are very experienced here.
