Great school. Good curriculum. Great Sports

Aloha is good for community, but the actual curriculum seems completely off. No two grading scales with this school work the same, and this bizarre unorganization makes it near impossible to keep track of everything yourself. Not only that, but colleges cannot properly rate you; because when it comes to an a,b, or c score, how they grade you is everything. And all of it is different. Youll have to deal with assemblies that have no point, make you cram in like lobsters and force kindness down your throat so hard that it hurts. They do it every single year, the same exact way. But like I said before, it /is/ good for community. The courses each year depend on the students,if they want to take them(outside of the required), the area is relatively safe, and they have a bunch of groups doing things the help the communitys environment. Bullying isnt a major problem, but it is still around; though majorly dumbed down compared to most schools. Most teachers are understanding and nice. They encourage you to ask if youre unsure, and in fact it does pay off with the curriculum more. More of the teachers there, from my experience, tend to respect you more if you do come out and ask. Though sometimes they seem to be too strict, hall monitors, librarians and others who work there are nice to get into conversations with, and are over-all respectful. It isnt a horrible school, but it isnt completely great. They could definitely use some improvements.

I walked into Aloha High School that our son now attends and was very very excited with what and how things are accomplished in a day. Most parents think, the school should be there baby sitter or daycare - it isnt.. So, a lesson is taught to them as well. :) My time was well managed and supported by teachers/counselors and asst principle. We got right down to business: My sons education; his personal responsibilities to HIS Education; and how as a parent WE are willing to assist with what is going on between home and school. As a parent you must become involved with more than just the conversation. Grades do not improve without your support and work. So, I picked up a few daily reports for our son (Mr Social) to bring home daily that I can review. Thank you, Aloha - for being there to advise me on how I can participate.

What an awful school. Teachers press a personal political agenda instead of teaching fact. If you dont participate in the schools political agenda, or agree with their views, you fail the class. Talk about a school brain washing children instead of teaching them how to excel and make America great again.

Scumbag leftists that teach CHILDREN, kids that are too young to vote about - WHITE PRIVILEGE and MALE PRIVILEGE. Trying to separate them into divisive little groups that be leveraged against each other before they even understand the reality of being an adult.Absolutely filthy yuppie scum run this school.

Aloha is awesome. It is worth noting that the only person who wrote a negative review of Aloha also gave 5 stars to The Hot Box.

The best and hardest years of life were spent at this school, the teachers are very supportive and the programs are a great success and should be taken advantage of while you can, you can build up the skills needed to succeed here.

I like the school but i have one complain. That middle aged security woman that thinks shes a high authority there. Walking around, unfriendly and not welcoming. She thinks you come there as a threat. If you dont do what she ask you to do to sign in as a guest, she will make you in trouble. I thought this school is a zero tolerant of bullies. Sad to say, that particular security is a bully. Its my second time i encounter that lady, shell come to you right away without any greeting. But the last one was worse bcz i was late already in my student meeting, but the way that woman handle it like I am a terrorist. Since i cant come in to the school doors, i have to call this staff first to let her know that i am already there and that i have to sign in. Staff told me to wait for her, and while i am on the phone she keeps coming towards me at the bench and telling me the policies of the school. I politely told her, ok, thank you and appreciate it. But still she comes to me aggressively repeating those words again. And same thing i said ok thank you and i appreciate it...then talked back to me that i seemed not appreciate it. I stopped and told her i think the word appreciate is enough. When the staff arrived with the student she stopped them to come towards me. Until i came and she said i am not talking to you(pointing her finger toward me), i am talking to her . She was so outraged and i felt threatened by her. She could have waited for me and the staff to come to the office bcz i have to sign in but not...i even told her that she was so aggressive to me then i showed my purse to her so that she will be satisfied and called for back up...for what! She wants cops to pick me up? For what? So frustrated! I reported her to asst principal, i dont think they are going to do something. I understand of the policies and safety of the school but at least handle it in a right way. I am a parent, and disrespecting me that way is not appropriate. I dont think police officers will treat you that way. It was a terrible experiece that gives me fear to come back there.

This is a decent high-school but the curriculum is outdated and badly needs a refresh. Went to school here for 3 years then took senior year online. In that single year online I learned far more then the 3 years spent in classes. So thankyou Aloha for teaching the pythagorean theorem, as if that will ever be used again. But if real education is sought after jump online and get ready for real world learning rather then some dusty old textbook with outdated text

I attended Aloha High School from 9/71 to 6/74, graduated and then went on to the University of Chicago, BA, 78 and Stanford University, MS 81. I found that the teachers and counselors of Aloha did a great job to prepare me for continued education. I especially enjoyed the teaching of Ms. Susan Brown (my French Teacher for 3 Years), Marvin Clark (my Band and Stage Band Teachers), Mr. Bob Barnes (11th Grade Algebra Trig), Mr. Lloyd Fraser (12th Grade PreCalculus), Pasco Arritola (10th Grade Math and PE), Ted Parker and Nelson Doeleman (Science), Karen Tosi (Beliefs of Man, Social Studies), Paul Pitzer (American History), Darlene Deloff (American Lit.), and Paula Riehl (College Prep Guidance Counsellor). I also enjoyed the annual Luau and the many concerts we did, especially Yesterday Once More, which included songs from over 30 Broadway shows, Popular music and Movies from the 40s to 60s. I played Bari Sax in the Stage Band and flute in the concert band all 3 years. I hope to visit the school again and take in a few concerts and musicals.
