Amana Academy is a outstanding Fulton County Public Charter School. The teachers truly care about the quality of education that each child needs. I love that the school is very diverse and that students can complete their elementary & middle school years here. Their curriculum and excellent STEM program are great as well. The “Amana High 5” philosophy helps enrich and mold students into exceptional children within the community.

Hello! I just finished my 8th grade year here. Ive been at the school since 6th grade, and the teachers where mostly fine. The only problem I saw much was discipline. A lot of students were aloud to do things they shouldnt have. One time a kid tried to walk out of the class room and go home with my personal belongings, and when I was trying to stop him, the teacher saw and did not care. I ended up getting them back, but the teacher saw the student actively stealing and decided to do nothing. Ive also seen a lot of bullying happening, and the teachers not trying to stop it. The education was good, but definitely other problems.

I was a student there for k-4, it was amazing. The teachers are nice, the teachers are good at what they do, they even teach the kids a grade level ahead before the year ends. The principles are NOT rude. And it is overall a wonderful experience for kids.PS.The bathrooms are fine

I was a student here from 3rd to 6th grade, I am a high schooler now. If you are thinking of coming here for the diversity, dont listen to the teachers point of view. The kids never leave their groups, and it was hard for me to find a single good friend. But, if you do find your group with parents and students, I swear you will love your little spot in the small school. Some of the teachers are very nice and caring, but their elementary section was vary disorganized and not fitting for the childrens ages and academic standards. The teachers, specifically 4th and 5th grade teachers, were not caring at all and gave the students way more pressure than they should have. I understand, getting ready for middle school is a big task, but their heads are still being shaped into that mindset. Other than that, the teachers include every student in projects, activities, and group work. Their standards are higher than most public schools, but im not complaining. My family says they made a mistake putting me here. Honestly, im not glad I was put here either, but it just might of been the most fun in my life.

Were totally enjoying the Amana experience...its a journey for parents as you grow with your child through elementary school. Amana always strives to improve their level of parent engagement, student experience, and community support. This may not be a school for every parent, because Amana promotes parental presence as a significant factor towards your childs learning success. If youre looking for an educational journey that encourages your child to recognize their value, establish a sense of citizenship, and respect the importance of diversity...go to an Info Session (next one is Sunday, January 12 at 2pm ET) or check out the school website to find out more about the great opportunity provided through Amana Academy!

Quality school! I love that my kids get to experience field work on a regular basis - getting out of the classroom and into the real world to see how what theyre learning in class gets applied. It really makes learning come alive. Every kid should have a chance to learn like this. I also love the culture - there are people from so many different backgrounds with so many different life experiences. My kids are learning so much about how to appreciate and accept people from different cultures - what an important life lesson!

To be honest, this school didn’t really prepare me for high school. I was never taught good study habits or organizational skills needed for high school classes. I was taught about leadership and learning, which is an important aspect of high school, but it’s not the entire thing. I feel unprepared in some of my classes, as well as when I prepare for a test or quiz. Extra credit may be needed in the middle school level but is not provided in my high school, so I came to high school thinking I would receive extra credit or retakes when I didn’t. I think the main thing Amana should focus on truly is the real preparation for high school and the standards.

My family and I love this school. We are in our second year at Amana and we are so impressed with the communication, our sons education that hes recieving, and just the family like atmosphere of the school. An added bonus is the diversity. I dont have a single bad thing to say about this school. If it went all the way to 12th grade thats where our son would stay.

Do not send your kids here. The expeditionary learning, STEM, Arabic, etc. sound great in theory, but it leaves the school trying to do too many things and unable to master anything. I was a teacher there, and I found it impossible to ensure my students received a proper education because of administration. The students read and do math several grade levels below where they should be. I saw violent bullying ignored and the victim punished for fighting back. I saw special ed and ESOL students not getting proper support to the point that I reported it to the principal, who, I discovered, had arranged it that way, and I was reprimanded for making that report. For two months before testing, all core classes had to regularly have students do stations where they did drills on things that would be on the test. Students were collectively punished when one student sculpted his own feces, and staff were required to inspect opposite gender bathrooms. I came to this place enthusiastic to teach and lost my enthusiasm quickly as I had to spend hours doing paperwork and setting up display boards that didnt benefit my students to look good for visitors, which meant I didnt have time to do the type of experiential learning I had been hired to do. When I started, there were 25 new teachers, and I would estimate the number who left at the end of that year is similar. Thats incredibly high turnover for a school that small. I left after one year. This place does so many things wrong that I actually think it harmful to the students. If you care about your childs education and mental well-being, dont send them here.

My children love the small community feel... they have learned to work as a team and to be effective leaders and community examples. Amana is the most unique school in the southeast and there is no room to fit all the educational and social benefits that come with having a child enrolled in this school!

Amana is a community of wonderful and committed educators and parents that strive to challenge and foster creativity in our children. Do not be swayed by closed minded posts and come experience Amana for yourself. The Charter system works with the right leadership. Evidence is visible all over the school through their STEM program, focus on expeditionary learning, and efforts to promote diversity through a global outlook. This is a Fulton County public charter school where involved parents work hard to fundraise and fill funding gaps. Check out Amana for a different and proactive approach to educating our children!

This school is soooo fake and heres why! When your a visitor in the school they said that the school lunch is great and the kids are allllll nice! NO IS NOT! its really pisses me off when I go get a milk and when I open the dame thing I see chunky old milk INSIDE THEIR! they dont even check if the milk is expired! If your a visitor here I would advise you to check the school lunch area alone without a principal or counselor or host. Or If I were you I would just give my kid REGULAR LUNCH if you can tho :) also if you see a student and if your host ask the student about questions about the school and the student says its a great school NO THEIR faking it we were basically force to say those things to make the school look good! But the only good thing about the school are the difference cultures you will meet here! So happy Im out of that nightmare 😭

I have a lot to say about this school and the first thing is attended it from k-5 and then i left. First of all i want to talk about the teaching, its not very good and my proof is because my grades were not good at this school but when i switched they raised tremendously. Also i was bullied at this school since fourth grade by a selfish girl. i told my teacher in fourth grade and i told the counseling but they did NOTHING. AND I SOON FOUND OUT SHE HAS BEEN TALKING ABOUT ME BEHIND MY BACK WHEN I LEFT. SHE TOLD NEW STUDENTS BAD THINGS ABOUT ME AND NOW THEY HATE ME. Also the subs are terrible they have no respect what so ever. Finally the Arabic i was taught it since kindergarten and learned absolutely nothing but when i switched schools i learned German in just a year. This is why i do not recommend this school unless you want your child traumatized. And that bully wrote a comment saying the school is great and she had lots of friends but all her friends were fake and just scared of her just like i am. and i almost forgot she tried to knock me out with a basketball on purpose and even admitting it to the class but obviously the counseling didnt care. If your a teacher and reading this please take note to make this school better.

Not a good place for your children to attend ! The students are fine , but the teachers are incompetent, dont care about your needs, and the bus driver is mean to my kids, and the cafeteria food sucks . Glad we moved. We only moved to Roswell to attend this school, but glad we moved. All the good reviews are fake, and the lunch is not even halal.

My kids have attended this school since kindergarten, we have had very caring, enthusiastic and fantastic teachers all the way, they are now middle schoolers, wich is even better than the elementary. We enjoy the field work opportunities to connect their learning with the real world, their project base learning, the small community, the teachers, staff and administrators that work really hard to improve each year. It does has some little things that need improvement but I don’t think any school is 100% perfect and the good things Amana has overcomes the small bad ones.

The bus driver is a terrible person who acts terriblely to the kids especially towards my kids. She had my son who is 11 years old clean the whole bus. She said that because he apparently lied to her. I know damn well that no one is allowed to do such a thing. And you can see her packs of cigarettes that she doesnt even try to hide from the kids.

I like it I met a lot of friends there. Its not bad at first but the later the year it goes into its like WHY AM I HERE?? or I WISH I NEVER CAME HERE if you go to this school tho pack your lunch cause they serve uncooked food and once my friends was grey stuff in their pasta. Their meat it really only fake pork and when they do cook actual beef its still undercooked but they called it medium rare. THIS SCHOOL NEEDS A HEALTH INSPECTOR!!!!!!!! LIKE NOW!!!!! I dont want any kids going through what I had to. Now lets talk about the bullies here Ive been bullied ever since 1-5 grade and in some grades THE TEACHER DIDNT EVEN CARE!!!! Ok now thats done in k-5 you have to take Arabic unless your a help student but other than that you have to take it and its harder than French! The school is pretty small the bigger you get the more room you need but its like at amana the bigger you get the less room or space you have. You wear uniform and thats pretty much the main reason I left. They dont have rules they have norms but there just pretty much rules there not strict which is good. But like I said wanna think before sending your child here? And lastly the bus driver in 3rd grade I went through 2 bus drivers and they were rude as heck! So think twice before sending your child here I hope I this report will make a change to this school in the future
