Both my children have attended Ascension Academy. My daughter graduated 4 years ago and my son is a sophomore. What we love the most about the school is the environment, staff and faculty. Students are kind to one another, all staff members are wonderful, friendly and helpful, and the teachers are the best you can find in all Amarillo. They care and love our children, and give them their everything, far beyond what you can ever expect from any teacher! I know my children will always have fond memories of their school experience and will cherish this experience for the remainder of their lives. As parents, we have at times contemplated moving our kids to a public school, but no matter how big of a financial sacrifice it is for our us, Ascension remains our number one choice.

My son has been here since the 6th grade and he loves it. The staff and faculty treat each student and their families like they are part a huge family. They went out of their way to ensure that he wouldnt have to go back to public school due to financial problems we were having during his 6th grade year. For his 7th grade year they set his tuition to an amount that was much more affordable and when we fell behind on the payments, they worked with us until we got his tuition down from $1800 to $887 from June till then end of July. We only owe $237 to be able to get last years tuition paid which will be covered next month then well start paying the tuition for this year. Any other private school of this kind would not have let my son stay this long with as far behind we got on his tuition during his 6th grade year. And personally, Im very glad they are that way because my son is thriving so much better there than he did when he was in public school. It was discovered that he was gifted and talented when he was in the 3rd grade, and then in the 4th grade he started getting in trouble for reading or doodling after he got all his work done and was waiting for the rest of his class to finish theirs. Here they encourage things of that nature and offer a curriculum that is both stimulating, challenging and engaging which keeps his very active and fertile mind focused on the task at hand. I love this school and would highly recommend it to other parents of a minority student who get bored easily with the public school curriculum as it has a very diverse student body and programs and clubs that arent available in public schools. So if your child is extremely intelligent and public school isnt doing it for them anymore, then you need to give Ascension Academy a try. I promise you wont be disappointed.

Our three kids have all attended Ascension Academy, loving everything about it. Ascension has provided an amazing middle and high school experience, with two current alumni that have been well prepared and excelling in their college of choice. Our current middle school student is being challenged both academically and athletically, enjoying every minute of school. The teachers and faculty genuinely care about the students and always available to help if needed.

Our daughter, Cate is very happy at Ascension Academy. She began in the 6th grade and is now about to finish her first semester of high school. We were attracted to the school for many reasons. The small classes along with great faculty are just a few examples. There are several opportunities at Ascension for the students to become involved in. Along with tennis, swimming and basketball, Cate has also enjoyed the wonderful Theater program. She has cultivated good friendships as well and we couldnt ask for more.

Ascension has offered my children a great education. The class size is small, which enables the instruction to be catered to the individual students. Teachers are caring towards the students and are happy to help the students individually if needed.

Horrible. Most of the teachers are mean, stress levels were off the roof, literally working till 2 every night. I was mentally scarred from this place. They gave at least 5 hours of homework a night, teachers didnt help, and students were bullying everyone. Ms. Bickers was a great history teacher and cared about her subject, but besides that other teachers were mainly uncaring.

Administration largely was never concerned for best academic need of students. Even the top academic students that made the school look good and won it awards have never been treated well. Best program was Latin by far until all its teachers left. Whenever there was conflicts with students/parents, principal would tell parents to not come because they are intimidating. if you are looking for an academic setting to send your students to, Amarillo High School is down the road. Student body is not at all an academically inclined group, and the top academic students have to travel out of school to nearby universities for advanced coursework.
