First off, they are very prompt and responsive to addressing questions. very recently, I signed up and participated in a workshop for posing. This particular workshop occurred at a location with beautiful flower gardens with an experienced model. In the first 15 minutes, I picked up on a lesson that immediately changed the way I interact and photograph people. I wish I had taken this workshop much earlier.. For reference, I have been making photographs for the past 4-5 years of street scenes, photojournalism, portraiture, landscapes, and nature. I have sold prints and I take on gigs as they come along.. Im not doing this professionally--as in--its not my full time job though I have a certificate in professional photography from a highly reputable school. Having my picture taken is my least favorite thing to do as I’m not usually happy with pictures of myself. Walter made me feel comfortable right away. I would absolutely recommend Walter, because Ive seen his work, specifically the amazing job he did with my head shot. I don’t like to be the center of attention, and I also don’t always like how my pictures come out, so I was concerned that I’d be uncomfortable during my headshot session. Walter put those concerns to rest. The all around experience from start to finish was excellent. I think that having your picture taken can be intimidating, and I worried that maybe I wouldn’t come across the way that I wanted to. From the minute that I arrived at C1M, Walter put me at ease. I have now taken Walters beginner and intermediate class including the art show at the end and its a fun, interactive way to learn the insides and outs of shooting great pictures. Walters classes are great! Ive taken three now. While Ive been snapping pictures for probably 32 years, theyre just vacation photos - I could never make art with the point & shoots, and then didnt know what I was doing with a DSLR. Howd I end up here? Whatd I do? How do I fix it? Help! Im on the other side of the world and just lost half a days worth of photos because my white-balance was messed up! Not anymore! This last trip I was confident, shooting totally in manual, and getting what I wanted on the first try. Composition is better, a miriad of techniques and memory-gimmicks to remind me what to do when I want to get a difficult shot, and to know how to pick my battles. Dont just take pictures - become a photographer!

Just finished the Beyond Basics program and participated in the art show. I cant ever remember having a more comprehensive learning experience while having so much fun.
