My sister and I went here on and off as children, I was here my last time partial year for 6th grade. My last teacher here told me to rewrite my sloppy essay, so I did, with the boy next to me as a witness. I turned it in and my white teacher said this isn’t my work, everything I wrote earlier just nicer, neater and smaller. Dumbstruck I couldn’t find words to defend myself, so she asks the whole class if anyone is missing their work. A white girl comes up and says it’s hers, still unable to find words my teacher gave my work away, even after the boy working next to me tells her he saw me writing it. I had lost my father figure that year, along with my oldest brother, having lost so much I stopped speaking.My son went here for 4th grade, one of his male teachers told him that homeschooling was useless. My son was a very troubled boy having moved across the country and having trouble going to public school. I spent 6 days a week, 12 plus hours a day homeschooling him, trying to get him to participate and keep up. His words validating my troubled boy, and tearing up everything I worked so hard on. When I met him at a parent teacher conference I heard him speak awful things about me as the door closed.This school doesn’t always choose the right people to teach our children, but I think there are plenty of other great teachers who outweigh the bad. The ladies at the desk were always my family’s favorite people. They make this place very welcoming, they are the best thing about the school.

I loved this elementary school as a kid, I used to go here a great environment and only like one mean thing said in the whole school a year, compared to my middle school JHMS Jackson heights that is ungodly nice to others
