I am a proud graduate from South. Throughout my 13 year run, I grew up being miserable, but on the 1st day of my freshman year, I felt like I was on the right path to success and felt at home. Yes, South is my home just as much as my real house. I miss my high school and I love driving by and seeing former teachers and stepping foot in the building that helped me build my confidence in my education. I also love driving by it and I smile every time. I visit the football track and walk with memories spilling in my head. My car sits beautifully in the student parking lot like it has before. Forever in my memory, SAHS

Its a school amd iam a student so tarible

Good school about a 7.5/10. Cliques are a more common aspect of the school with the younger generations coming in. Ranging from Asians, Hispanics, Rich, Nerds, Jocks, etc. Teachers are very good with a few bad apples out of some. Probably the best high school in all of Anchorage in terms of education. The kindness of the student population are bad though when compared to West or other such schools. If your moving up here to Anchorage expect a bad school district superintendent. They allow school when the roads are thickened with black ice and 10-12 buses on the side of the road and 2-3 car accidents happen. Not to mention the depressing winters when you go to school its dark, and by the time you get out of school its dark. So take plenty of vitamin D pills because you wont get any from the sun. Theres plenty more to mention in terms of bad and good such as its sport activity and amount of illegal activity from the student body. From just simple Marijuana all the way to full blown parties with alcohol.

WEST IS THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL PERIOD.EDUCATION AND DIVERSITY AT ITS FINEST.

Clean facilities and friendly staff. The parking lot can get congested, but sports and events here are worth it.

Great school!Have you visited and was very impressed by the sports halls and the outdoor courts.The best were the tennis courts where I played myself :-).
