Very cool gym, both for adults and youth. The owner is always there helping everyone through workouts and training. Everybody is really friendly and welcoming no matter the ability level. Really enjoyable environment for such a high intensity sport. My girls have been going for two years and I’m watching them successfully grow and be able to defend themselves.

We recently moved here from FL & have trained at many of the “best” pro gyms on the East Coast and not a single one of them can hold a candle to Electric City MMA. Coaches here are instructors who teach, are open minded, humble, knowledgeable, respectful and know how to bring the very best out of each student. Blake is extremely safety conscious and protects his students and fighters which is a rare & crucial trait in a coach. Nothing fancy or pretty here just honest blood, sweat, and hard work. Somehow Electric City MMA seems to be the best kept secret in Upstate SC.

I walked into Electric City MMA at the beginning of August searching for a new gym since I had just moved to Anderson. The owner of the gym, Blake Grice, gave me a tour of the facility which is impressive and filled with top quality equipment. After talking with him, it was obvious that he is knowledgeable and he is the kind of gym owner that is interested in giving the customers a good experience. He is not interested in just making a quick dollar like so many gyms are now a days. I was eager to take advantage of the 7 day free trial that ECMMA offers and after the 7 days, I didnt hesitate to sign up for a full year.The quality of the training at ECMMA is some of the best Ive experienced. The functional fitness classes are incredibly challenging but safe. The head coach Allison puts a lot of effort into planning out the weekly workouts so that the training is very balanced. I never feel like Im too sore to work the next day, and Im constantly surprised by how quickly my strength and endurance are increasing.Without a doubt, the best part of ECMMA is the community. This is not a gym where people go in, do their work, and just go home. There is an incredibly strong, supportive group of members at Electric City MMA that is unlike anything I have seen at any other gym. The members at the gym dont treat you like a friend, they treat you like family.I havent been a member very long but joining this gym has had a very positive impact on my life, and I truly feel like walking through the front door of Electric City MMA in August is the best decision Ive made in the past year. As long as Im living in Anderson I dont plan on training anywhere else.

I started at this gym the beginning of May and stopped in December because we moved. In that short time, I looked forward to going and working out with the 6am crew. This place is more than just a gym, it’s a community. I loved the support and accountability you got there that you just can’t find at any old gym. I recommend this place because it will push you to your limits and make you surpass what you think you are capable of. This is a no judgement place that can make modifications for anyone who is willing to try. It doesn’t matter if your fit, weak, old, or overweight there is always a way to make it work for you. If you’re on the fence about trying this gym, just go and I promise you’ll fall in love.

When I first started, I had my doubts. I have learned the difference in this gym and others. This one has motivation and encouragement which is phenomenal for those like me who have a hard time pushing themselves. It’s a family not just a gym and despite the hard work I enjoy every minute of my workout. I have made some pretty amazing friends including the owner and his wife. I wouldn’t trade this for the world. My health is has done a complete 360!along with my weight, strength and physical abilities. When I thought they were going to cut a class that i attended I was in tears because I didn’t want to go back to where I was, they accommodated me and my schedule. That is definitely more than just a gym and is by far worth the price.

Best gym Ive ever trained with. Everybody is there to push themselves, and everyone is welcoming. Theyre big on teaching the right form, and the workouts are always challenging. Ive made some really great friends here.

Regardless of your fitness level, this gym owner and it’s members make you feel welcomed. Expectations are high but so is the encouragement. The trainers, fighters and other members are all helpful and excited for you to meet your goals. Highly recommend this judgement free gym!

ECMMA is the place to be if you’re in and around the Anderson, SC. If not, and you’re from out of town or traveling, stop in anytime to be treated like family. Blake and his staff do an excellent job with everyone from kids to adults. Just be prepared to get a great workout from amazing instructors, meet new friends, and as stated, become apart of a family. I can’t say enough good about this gym. They are soooooo welcoming by EVERYONE. They DO NOT judge you for not being able to to what they can do. If your doing something wrong they approach you positively to show you the correct way. Not only that but they are VERY family friendly. And before too long you all become family. I unfortunately had to stop because I moved out of state. But I’m back in town and can’t wait to start back.... please please call Blake and try a free class!!!

The gym is a second home for me. Coaching is great, family environment. Was welcomed with open arms from the very beginning.

On October 1, 2018 I decided to join ECMMA to lose weight and be healthier. While I did expect to get stronger and lose weight, what I did not expect was the enormous support system I would gain by joining. The people at ECMMA are awesome, fun to be around, and truly supportive and helpful. I feel lucky to be a part of this gym, and I feel lucky to be a part of this gym family!!

Best gym in Anderson. From the Fitness classes to the MMA (Muay Thai and Brazilian jujitsu) the coaches are the best. From the moment you walk in youre accepted and treated like family in a 100% judgement free zone.

Very offensive flag hanging in their gym. Judge for yourself. Not trusting them with my kid. What a horrible business decision.Edit: Wow. I did leave my name. I left it with you when I called and when I came and visited as well. Why? Do you want to threaten or harass people who raise their children to be Christian? I didnt see a Christian flag hanging in your gym. Ill raise my kid to be family-oriented and not hell-bent on destruction of family structure. Do you really believe all potential customers who dont believe in gay marriage shouldnt conduct business there? Please publish that.

I’ve taken classes with this gym for 8 years. Yes, it is that good. You won’t find a better gym, gym family or classes any where.

Love the gym the staff are really cool! and fun. Ive learned so much in Jiu-jitsu and feel confident I can protect myself. Blake is a good guy and makes you feel very welcomed! Plus he has a cool little dog that hangs out. Its very homie there!

Been going to the gym for about a year now. Owned by a great guy who knows how to motivate and keep me going, even when I don’t want to. Always challenges me physically and my mental ability to be better. He helps anyone, no matter their background, and honestly cares about everyone there, and wants you to be your best.I don’t do the BJJ class, he has a regular CrossFit/HIIT/Cardio style class that is well structured and always changing, so it is never routine or boring.This place isn’t just a gym, it is family. ❤️

The Owner of this establishment is very, very cynical on (not so new) training methods, such as Bone Strengthening.When suggesting to add more niche options to her business to expand her potential customer base, she then went out of her way to make personal attacks on my character, based upon my appearance (saying I looked like a school shooter).While I may have never gone to this Gym, I can guarantee you that with business practices such as these, this Gym will not be seen by anyone who is truly serious about their training. Id even go so far as to say its an overpriced scam. She even intentionally changed her address on Google to avoid my previous review, and had all of her friends give her 5 star ratings to look good. This is technically illegal, and is considered False Advertisement.They think that technique is everything, while little does she realize that a house is only as strong as the foundation it is built upon. A Diamond will always break a Rock.
