This is a great school. The concept of a military school in a public school setting was brilliant!

My grandkids go to APA , they are doing fantastic and love the school. My granddaughter went to Muncie city schools in 2018-2019 school yr and was failing because the teacher was very cruel to her and would not work with her. They moved to Anderson and she started last school year and her grades and attitude about school where great. I am so grateful to the staff at this school for making my grandkids love going to school.

There are no field trips for the students, the students work so hard and there is no reward. There is always LOTS of homework from what I can see. If you have no transportation dont consider this school, you have to drop off and pick up your student. There is only ONE store in Anderson that sells the high school uniform and there prices are not nice. Forgot to pay a laptop repair fee they locked my student out his account for over a week and didnt care that he was falling behind on assignments. I believe Anderson Preparatory Academy is a good school.. however I feel like they need to invest more in the students.. which of you would like to work so hard and not receive your reward/paycheck? I have witnessed were a African American student was asked to leave or change her hair because her braids touched her collar! I dont know ppl from Anderson love the discipline 😒🤷‍♀️

APA is a GREAT school but like any other school you get into it what you get out. Also just because its a military based school doesnt mean that its like basic training or a reform school or anything like that but they do expect your respect and usually its returned. This is my third year at APA and they have some of the greatest teachers in the world and usually they do their best to help you in any way they can. And remember no school or person is perfect and thats how life works. Also theres some bad kids and some good kids not everyone that goes there is bad as some assume because of the name.Hope this helps, Go Jets!!!

We went to APA for 3 years. The first year was amazing with an amazing teaching. Next year was ok.I was disappointed they had parent teacher conferences late October to November making it hard to correct your student.By the last year they lost all kindergarten teacher in one summer and had to rush and hire new, they were noticeably under staffed. The last year I can not tell you how many times I had to be in the office for one of my child being pushed down and kicked in recess. While my other child being called stupid to the point she cried to go to school and she was in kindergarten!!! The year you should love the most!!We changed schools mid year and have not had one problems and both my children are doing very well. If your child has ADHD or any disability at all this is REALLY NOT the school for them.To be fair I do not have any experience with the Middle school or High School so I can not speak for them.

My family and I just really love Anderson Preparatory Academy. They absolutely care about their students and their families. The communication skills are excellent they call the parents when the child gets injured at school so if its a parent want to come check on the student they allow that. I started my children at Anderson Preparatory Academy 2015-2016 school year as kindergarteners we will continue going back until they graduate from Anderson Preparatory Academy. I could not ask for a much better school than Anderson Preparatory Academy. The teachers I have really good communication skills with the parents of the child they do case conferences they really care and love these kids that struggle and the ones that are smart they kind of help with where they need to be say if theyre too smart they put the kidsin first grade half of the day to allow them to do what they need to do to Learn and not keep the child bored because if you have a bored child they can possibly get into trouble. Anderson Preparatory Academy is a really really great schools to put your children in I dont care what type of money you have what your finances are but Anderson Preparatory Academy is one hell of a school.

I moved my two children to APA last year and it was definitely the right move. Before, my children went to Anderson community Schools and both of them were getting straight Fs on their report cards and getting passed onto the next grade. We could never get ahold of anyone at the school that we needed to, and the school never once tried to get either one of my children the help they needed with what they were struggling with. So we moved them here, and they immediately tested both children and got IEPs in place for them. The school found out that both children had learning disabilities(ADHD/ADD/OCD/dyslexia) my son was in the third grade when he started at APA and after the testing they also found out that his reading level was at a kindergarten level. IN ONE SCHOOL YEAR, Mrs. Wiles got my sons reading level up to a low third grade level!!!! His attitude has improved since we moved him here and he just loves the structure and one on one time he gets! And, the same goes with my daughter that we moved here. Shes in 8th grade and after the testing was done they found that she was at a 3rd grade education level. Now that they know, they have her doing work at her level, so the classes that she had problems with(math, science, language) shes not having to do the 8th grade level work that probably seemed like a foreign languages to her before. WE LOVE APA!!!

Not even a good school, as a former student there I found out the truth about APA. Theyre just money hungry and dont care about the students that need help, they care about those students who can give them money
