I was took a few adult classes before Covid but from what I remember everyone was very friendly and energetic. We had 1 on 1 as well as group sessions. The location was convenient with its own parking and the hours were flexible. Great place 👍

My son has ADHD so isnt really the best listener all the time and his attention can wane. In the beginning he had fun but one particular instructor was mostly negative towards him and alot of the children. My son is 5 yrs old they promote at that age its about listening paying attention and learning respect but having fun as well. My son stopped having fun and started hating going to karate and cried when it was time for classes saying he was afraid of his teacher and hated them. Very disappointed couldnt force him to keep going so i cancelled his lessons but no refund due to no 30 day notice☹️ My had an emotional breakdown due to their instructors poor interpersonal skills and ive discovered im not the first to leave due to this but yet they still work there and im out $200

High pressure sales tactic (witnessed through the office glass, so not 100% sure) do know they left us waiting for an hour for intro meeting after our appointed time. Left without session in frustration.

This has been such a great outlet for my son while we are all on lockdown! He is excited everyday for ATA class. Its about the only thing he will do without being asked 100 times lately. Very thankful!!

My kids started doing Taekwondo with Master Landrum at the local YMCA when they were about 7. After a year of sitting and watching the kids, we decided to move to practicing at his school down the street so I could join in and now the whole family is involved. Weve now been members of the school for over 3 years and the kids recently became 1st degree black belts. It has been a good challenge for all of us. Everyone is encouraged to set a goal that is reasonable for them; you dont feel pushed. And often little wins occur that make the kids very proud. For instance, during softball practice the team was asked to run bases multiple times. My daughter finished strong, feeling good and the rest of the team was walking, holding their sides. But in class she doesnt know shes working out. Shes just having fun.As well as the physical training, it has built a lot of confidence, especially with my son. Hes a very shy kid, but when your instructor says without warning: Carder! Come over here and stretch these Tigers out!, he does it. So standing up and giving a book report in class in a nice loud voice isnt such a big deal anymore.

My son and daughter have been attending class at ATA for several months now and they love it!! I have seen so many positive changes in them since they started attending class at ATA. My daughters confidence level has really improved and my son had glowing remarks on his report card this term. Master Landrum and Mr. Kennedy are great with the kids, both with teaching of Taekwondo and teaching of personal growth and respect. They really care about the kids and it shows when they ask about school and home and they want to help the kids succeed and grow, and that means a lot to us as a family!!

My daughter loves working with Master Landrum and Mr. Kennedy. They care about the students and challenge them to do their best no matter what their skill level is. ATA Andover is a very special environment that helps develop self-confidence and self-esteem, as well as, teaching your child self-defense.

ATA andover is an excellent place to train martial arts and self-improvement lessons. Our daughter was physically very active but didn’t have the energy channeled into specific stream. Few months after joining ATA martial arts, she slowly started enjoying taekwondo and then got into sparring. Initially she was scared to spar with boys but with excellent guidance and coaching from Mr. Kennedy, gradually she started to love sparring. Over the period she has built a solid foundation, got flexible body, improved her discipline and overall become a better personality. Chief instructor and owner Master Landrum creates a wonderful and friendly atmosphere to nurture the students. He also persuades and helps parents to become stronger and more fit person.I highly recommend this institute if you are looking for an opportunity to make your kids stronger, sharper, more confident and self independent.

My son is in the Autism Spectrum and he absolutely loves to come in for his taekwondo lessons. I not only love the fact that they are close by but I love their teaching methods. ATA teaches discipline to these kids and instills in to them respect and self determination which they learn to utilize this principle wherever they go.

My son has been attending ATA Martial Arts in Andover for more than 5 years now and has grown tremendously in his Taekwondo skills. However, most importantly, he has grown into a wonderful young man in part due to Master Landrum and Mister Kennedy. They are excellent at balancing motivating students in a very supportive and nurturing environment with the structure and discipline necessary for students to excel and reach their full potential. They help to teach their students responsibility, leadership, integrity, respect, compassion for others, honesty and values. Master Landrum and Mister Kennedy lead by example, and their students consistently do well in tournaments and are some of the best sparring students in the Northeast. I unequivocally recommend ATA Martial Arts in Andover to any type of student looking to learn Taekwondo, become more physically fit, learn and live by their values, and to have fun.

My son has been working with Mr. Kennedy and Master Landrum for over two years. I wanted him to find a place he felt at home in while learning an important skill like martial arts. Kids need to know that they can be held to a standard of discipline and self-control. But it falls apart if they also feel as though they arent genuinely cared about. ATA gets it. My son can succeed and he can fail at ATA. And kids need to experience both. And Mr. Kennedy and Master Landrum are always there for him. They push the kids to the next level sometimes. And other times they guide them to the next level, always reinforcing that they are indeed a member of the family at Andover ATA.

My son started here four years ago and what a difference it has made for him. Master Landrum is an excellent instructor who knows how to get the most out of his kids and you can tell from watching the junior instructors lead the classes. I and the rest of my family have also joined and we are all enjoying the journey to the rank of black belt. What I appreciate most is the discipline my children are learning with lessons in courtesy, respect, self-esteem, and other values that will help you succeed now and tomorrow. They are always offering free introductory classes so bring your kids and discover ATA Taekwondo!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Took a chance with a Groupon for my grandson & granddaughter, and I must say we were greatly impressed (and they love it)! In addition to the obvious health benefits and confidence building, the training re: bullying and the re-enforcement of respectful behavior and overall accomplishment in the students daily lives are added benefits to a childs participation. Also as adults we were appreciative of the flexible schedule at ATA. Even with children who are engaged in other activities there were adequate optionds for week day & weekend class attendance. Give it a try - your kids will love it.RL
