So much to say I dont know where to start! A small school that is big on options for programs and degrees, caring staff that know your child by name and not just as a number, a wide variety of sports and extra curriculars, located in Angola which offers plenty of shopping options for last minute items or stocking up, close to lakes and a state park which makes visits less complicated, but perhaps the biggest reason is how Trine creates a home away from home atmosphere that encourages learning and growth, while reassuring parents and loved ones. Our boys are proud to be a part of the Trine family!

I primarily went online. Theyre online courses fit into my schedule. So I was able to work full time in the morning and go to school around 5:30 p.m. Im glad that they had commencement for both 20 and 21 grads. Im so happy to graduate. I feel that theyre online courses could have been a little bit better. And they could have included the online students a lot more with their campus life. I never got any updates or heard anything about whats going on on campus.

This pertains to Zollner Golf Course on the campus of Trine University. A great course with a lot of challenge. Reasonable rates and beware that Friday demands a weekend rate. Also with fall upon us there are a lot of trees and along with that, leaves.

I graduated in the Civil Engineering program in 1972. During that time, being a little older, it was great way to get your degree at a smaller school with personal teachers willing to help at the same a participant in the first concrete canoe race while living on Lake James. A great investment!

Dr. Brooks seems to have consistently helped Trine focus on continuous improvement and his colleagues provide quality experiences for students, faculty, and staff. The maintenance staff does an incredible job of keeping campus in great shape. Trine has invested many resources into improving campus with residence halls/housing, athletic facilities, and the new hockey arena and offers many activities for the campus community, town of Angola and surrounding community.

Great school. Gorgeous Campus. Intense greek life.I am a current second semester freshman and on the track team here at Trine. Im quite the social person and go out on the weekends and Ill be honest (like most complain about), the gender ratio here is very poor. Due to a high school focus on engineering, quite a few students arent awfully social. If youre social enough, dont worry about it.Academics here are some of the best in the nation and most firms from Indiana are quick to hire Trine University graduates. (Side note: a fraternity brother of mine was hired in CA for being a Trine grad)Greek Life here has so much influence. I never saw myself joining a fraternity until I got here, for theres so much that comes from it. From the combined fraternities and sororities alone, I cant even tell you an exact number of philanthropy events that are held. Just know it is a lot.Best of luck with your decision, Trine would be a great one!

I am an attorney in Indiana. I have had several interns from other universities, and I have been fairly disappointed in them. I have had three interns from Trine University, and I would have hired any of them, particularly the last one. The three were knowledgeable, professional, hard workers, and very appreciative of the opportunity an internship gives them.

Always enjoy visiting Trine University Bon Appetit cafeteria. Especially on Fridays, since lunches and I believe dinners are only $7. Such a wide variety of food to satisfy everyones taste. The salad bar is outstanding with a large variety of lettuces, vegetables, extra toppings such as quinoa, marinated tofu, edamame and chickpeas, hard boiled eggs, as well as mixed salads like pasta salads Etc. Wonderfully delicious pizza freshly made to order if you want something that isnt already made. A variety of sandwiches freshly made, an international selection as well as a grill section. Quality and price cant be beat!

They sure do know how to use fancy words to draw you into a Nice school. Watch out for news that is to good to be true. Coaches and counselors have to keep their recruited number of students up so they will tell you just about anything you want to hear. The people who work in many of the offices dont really care about your problems, dont plan on fast service. Lunchroom workers are very polite on the other hand. But overall not a school I would recommend.

I graduated from the Chemical Engineering program in 1964. Granted that was a long time ago, but the reputation of then Tri-State College made it simple to get work wherever I wanted to work. I was not into sports, clubs, or Fraternities, just looking for a high quality education. The professors were excellent. All that could have changed, but the reputation of Trine engineers still is stellar. I am campaigning with my grandchildren to attend this University or the Merchant Marine Academy.

As a parent of a new Trine student & football player, I can tell you that our experience so far is far from the last reviewer. Im only giving it 4 stars only because he hasnt even started class yet, I can review again later. Yes, we were shown the new apartment style living and our son is living in the old style dorm, not a big deal. He can change next year if he chooses!Working with the staff and administration has gone smoothly so far. My son took an online summer course which also went well. Overall, I believe Trine will be a great school for him and he will enjoy his four years here. Hes already meeting lots of new friends as the school isnt too large and overwhelming.

This has been one of the worst times of my life. They lured me in with this small schools are better mentality and their 98% job placement, but the teachers were garbage, and it was a good ol boys sort of school where they wanted you to know someone to get anything. Its incredibly over priced, and they nickel and dime you on everything from over priced textbooks (some can only be bought on campus such as the physics lab manuals) to parking permits (that dont always guarantee you a spot). I regret coming here, and it is too late to change anything since I graduate in about a year and a half.

Went there on a full-ride scholarship for basketball and academics many years ago! Was never so mistreated in my entire life! I was 18 being physically and verbally abused by my hot headed, hard punching 24 year old roommate in a jail-like dorm room! At night, the older students would break into my room and drag me and other underclass students down the hall in the dorm out of our beds while sound asleep! They were drunk and thought it was funny as my head hit the cement floor! This happened on a regular basis! The Coach was a real jerk and favored his two sons on the team and took pleasure in punishing me for being the only recruit from Michigan that season! The ratio of 14 men to 1 woman on campus did not bother me that much as the few girls there knocked on my door often! I never could get much studying done at all! The Fraternities on campus were very territorial and aggressive! Fights were common! The Professors were arrogant and not approachable! I could go on and on, but, obviously, there are reasons why this place and Angola, Indiana are so small! They enjoy scaring away new people!

As a junior- year, chemical engineering student, student-athlete, resident assistant, member of Greek life, I think that I have a very broad perspective on what life at Trine is like. I have lived in both dorms and apartment style living. I know what great work the employment resource center does (im currently on co-op in the area). I understand that the small student to professor ratio is extremely important to student success (IF the student wants to succeed). I know the great memories and connections that Greek life can bring to people. I have done my best to aid international students as an RA and help them transition in and integrate into trines culture. Here are my thoughts:- Professors are not supposed to be pushovers or your best friends, they are supposed to create a welcoming environment that is conducive for learning - which they do a great job of.-The apartment style living is very nice. Not what you would expect from a college campus. The dorm style living is traditional to what you would expect from a college campus. I preferred the apartment style living, but thats just me.- Coaches, trainers, and teammates understand that classwork comes first. Yet, you are still expected to make up anything that you miss (which is expected).- It is difficult for international students due to the language barrier which impedes integration. Most other students will not go out of their way to take the time to get to know international students unless they live with them. I, as an RA, tried my best to make sure that everyone was included.- Trines Employment Resource Center is thriving with alumni connections to large and small companies. The men and women who work there are extremely passionate about helping students further their career.- Greek relations at the school (like many universities across the country) are always under the microscope and face scrutiny no matter what. However, the alumni relations , networking opportunities, memories made, and overall Greek atmosphere on campus is amazing.- A lot of the students at Trine grew up in a small town or are from a rural area, so there can be times when it feels very country. Take that as you wish.-Trine University does a great job at presenting itself to the public and has created a great image for itself. The University is very student-oriented and has been growing over the past few years. In regards to negative comments previously made by others, students will always find something to complain about, no matter how small or large the problem may be. I visited 10 other schools (large and small) and would not have it any other way. If you plan on attending school just to party and go out on the weekends, then Trine isnt going to be your cup of tea. If youre going to school to get a quality education, meet genuine people, and enjoy your time, then youre in luck.I hope that helped clear up some confusion.

I graduated from Trine (then called Tri-State) University back in the 1990s. Seems like the school has taken many steps to improve the facilities on campus and the academic programs. For example, the school now has Post-Undergrad programs for the first time. In addition, the school now has apartment-style living in addition to the old dorm facilities. For the reviewer who complained about the social atmosphere at Trine, people need to realize that you are attending a small school in rural northern Indiana and not Chicago/NYC/Los Angeles/Washington DC. In addition, many of the students at Trine are Engineering majors-there are generally more men than women studying in these fields.People need to realize that Trine will never have the huge party atmosphere like USC/Ohio State/Florida State, or other big schools known for the social scene. That being said, I was Greek and we still had a good time while managing to get decent grades, graduate, and find work or make plans for grad school after earning a degree. Trine was not as prudish or strict as a religious/military-ran school, but not party central like some schools are known to be.
