We absolutely love ELC. My twins have thrived in the environment there. The teachers are incredible... they are creative, patient, and you can tell they are very passionate about helping the preschoolers learn. The play-based philosophy of learning is the best... we have seen our kids grow in fine motor skills, gross motor, social skills, language and functional life skills.

We have had a wonderful experience having our child attend ELC! The small class sizes, excellent curriculum, and amazing teachers have made it a great experience for my sons first year of preschool.

I attended here 20 years ago for preschool for myself. I recently enrolled my daughter and I was concerned about separation anxiety because she had never been away from family before. She had no issues transitioning to preschool and she adores it. Everyday she asks me when she can go to school next!

ELC has been an amazing place for our twin toddlers to learn, grow, and socialize with other kiddos this year.The teachers are incredibly attentive, patient, and creative. Our kids come home with art projects and songs they’ve learned (they’ve even taught us a couple!) and all sorts of stories of things they saw and talked about with their teachers and friends that day. We love that they spend a big chunk of the day playing outside, both on the amazing playground as well as exploring the neighborhood around the school.ELC has taken COVID precautions seriously, giving us peace of mind during these uncertain times. We’re so lucky to have found this very special preschool, and plan on sending our kids there for the next couple years!

We love this preschool! Our oldest has been there for a year and a half now, and I plan on sending her little sister next year. The teachers are amazing, the environment is great, and they truly feel like a family. I love the small class sizes, the curriculum, and the emphasis on outdoor play. As a bonus, it is super affordable compared to other like schools in the district. I cannot say enough good things. 👍👍

This was our daughters first preschool experience, and we have absolutely loved it. The play based curriculum is great, the teachers are wonderful, and she went from being very nervous about preschool to wishing she could go every day. They also offer a range of enrichment activities that lets you further customize your experience. We would highly recommend this preschool to anyone!

Moving from the Bay Area in California and not knowing the schools in the Ann Arbor area was difficult, but this school has exceeded our expectations. The teachers have been teaching at ELC for many years and have their system down to an art. As a teacher myself, I am confident that our boys will be ready for Kindergarten coming out of this program. The teachers and director really know our kids and love them! I encourage you to check out this program and send your kids here, we could not be happier with the curriculum and supportive environment.

After 4 kids and 4 different preschools, I have found the most amazing preschool. Early Learning Center is the whole package. The staff are wonderful and excellent at communicating what my child is learning in the classroom. They are professional, but most of all, I can tell they love their work and the children. This is more than just a job for them. My son comes home every day talking about what he has learned, singing songs, and identifying colors, letters, and shapes in the world around him. I only wish I had found this preschool earlier!

The teachers here are so wonderful. I love that my child can come here, do fun activities, and be supported in the play/learning process. An affordable option for parents looking to avoid the co-op life. We wouldnt be anywhere else!

Ive been an ELC parent for 2 years now, and I cant say enough great things about this school! My son couldnt wait to graduate to the Butterfly room this year, and now my daughter is starting her first year in the Caterpillar room. All the teachers are so warm and welcoming, very patient and kind with the kids, and most of all, just have a very natural inclination towards teaching. They help foster kindness and creativity in all our children. In addition to the traditional preschool topics, the teachers work really hard to make sure our kids are learning new things too. Every week is a different theme which is carried through across all the areas: creative learning, reading, math and science, writing, and fine/gross motor skills. Also, they get outside every day which is excellent for burning off some extra energy and getting fresh air. We love ELC!

We have 2 children who attend ELC. I was a teacher for 10 years and was very particular about what I wanted for my children. There is so much that we love about the school, but mainly how ELC teachers are so nurturing and caring for each students independent needs. We love how communication with the home is key - I know what my children are learning at school each week and how I can extend it at home. Lastly, we love how the day is organized, yet gives my child choice.  If you need a preschool, look no further. Your child will be well prepared for Kindergarten from ELC.- ELC Parent

ELC is exactly what my child needed. The teachers and staff go above and beyond. We have gone to other preschools, but ELC gets it ALL right! The love for children, the play-based teaching and the attention to details. We couldn’t ask for better teachers and a better school!

Our family loves the Early Learning Center (ELC)! Our oldest son just graduated and our youngest will be starting there in January 2018. It is a play-based preschool with a wonderful teaching team of two teachers in each of the two classrooms (4 teachers total). The teacher/student ratios are low and the teachers really care about their students and the students families. We have gotten close to many of the other families too over our time there. You can sign up for as little as two mornings a week (most preschools in Ann Arbor require at least three mornings) and then add more mornings and afternoon enrichments as desired. We love being an ELC family! Every morning our son wakes up and asks do i go to school today? In just one semester weve seen our energetic, not well socialized 3 year old, really thrive. From an increased thirst for learning, to being able to recognize and spell his name as well as others names, hes also learning to share, play cooperatively with other children, and follow rules which has translated to life outside of school quite well with play-dates and following rules at home. The teachers are truly a gift. Its evident that they cherish the uniqueness of each of their students and their families, because they go out of their way to connect/communicate frequently, making sure everyone has a great preschool experience. We feel so lucky to have found a gem like ELC and highly recommend it.

We love the ELC! The program is play-based and there is always something my daughter is excited about. The teachers are top notch! They are pros at dropoff, knowing when nervous new kids need to be engaged in play and when they need loving support.The school offers some extension programs for when kids are ready for more, and parents can choose to be more involved or not at all.What a loving and gentle transition into school!

I have been very impressed by the teachers at ELC! They dont only care about the child, they also care about that childs family. They are very personable. They share personal stories and also try to get to know you better. I love seeing the way the teachers interact with my child. They are very kind, patient, and loving. I also am a big fan of the play-based learning they do with the children. I believe it helps school be more fun for children. My son is constantly counting down the sleeps until he can go back to school because he loves it so much. I also like that they have after school options for the children to be involved in, if parents choose. I highly recommend ELC!!!

I absolutely love ELC. The teachers are phenomenal. I love how much they care about each individual child as well as their families. I have a daughter that graduated from ELC last year and my 3yr old is currently enrolled. It has been such a wonderful experience for my girls. Not only have they learned about shapes, colors, letters etc their confidence level and ability to get along with others has improved beyond my expectations . I can’t say enough about how much my family loves this preschool!!

With the recent hiring of one of the best Preschool teachers in the state as the Director, ELC will continue to be the highest rated Preschool in Ann Arbor for a long time.

So my third of four children just started and ELC and I cant believe its taken me this long to post a review on Google. We absolutely ADORE the teachers at ELC. They are so warm and loving and have an incredible depth of knowledge and experience. They really have the total package. It is a play based program that gives the children the social skills necessary for kindergarten while at the same time fully preparing them academically to move on. And, on top of that, the program is run on a not for profit basis with a board of directors made up of parents. Its not a co-op so you dont have to attend class with your child, but it is a small community with lots of parental involvement and input. My children love going to ELC and I love that they are developing a love for learning at such an early age. Couldnt imagine going anywhere else!
