I will say, this place has seen better days. I have had children of various ages go through this preschool. The oldest, we had Sonya, she was a delight. We skipped, Lauren, I didnt have a child then. The next director was, Cam, she was amazing and a joy to the center. I remember all the positive smiles from the teachers. Now, I am not sure who the new director is, she doesnt seem to go out of her way to meet the parents. I will say, I am extremely devastated at all the teachers who have been leaving recently. Our family, favorite, Ashley O, was one of the best. I dont know why she left, but she was working there forever, and I am hoping this place is keeping their teachers happy. I wont blame the director directly, but I will blame the people above her, who have been faithfully working with this company for years, and for them to let it go down the drain is saddening, they seem almost uneducated by the way they have been running this with their puppet like string. Anyways, I hope it gets better. I would hate to see it run down to the ground.

The safety and protocols in place have been incredible! I feel like my child is in the best hands during such a tough time. Teachers have gone the extra mile to make sure parents still feel in the loop, even though drop off is at the front door. I cannot say enough positive things about this center! We are so pleased!

First of all; the schools great, teachers are friendly. The only problem is the director. She’s so rude, as I talked to Catherine Finely apart of the administration there; she was super nice to get me started in my EDU 184 practicum. As soon as I came back to bring all the necessary items; the director snapped at me, gave me attitude and was so rude. The worst part is their COMMUNICATION! They are absolutely terrible with communication. She never even emailed me back. Never set me up with my practicum. Or picked up the phone when I’ve called several times. I’ve found my practicum elsewhere at an actual 5 star center whose way better. What they need is some big improvements. Just saying.

I am a mother of two children who are former Bright Horizons students. This past year my oldest transitioned from Kindergarten Prep to Kindergarten. While Sondra was the director, I could tell you that my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed Bright Horizons- the way the center was run, the enthusiasm and energy of the staff, and most importantly that the center as a whole felt organized and home-like. It wasnt until Lauren became director that my family as well as SEVERAL others began to discuss the embarrassing turn for the worse this center was taking. I watched in tears as some of my favorite teachers left, I picked up my children while listening to inappropriate and unprofessional conversations take place among the admin team, and a place that I valued and recommended several families to send their children to quickly became a place I no longer wanted my child to attend. It went from a place of smiles and laughter to a place of pissed off faces and not even a Hello while walking through the door. For those of you who currently have children enrolled at this center- I can promise you from one parent to another that this center is filled with nothing but lies, secrets and an admin team who has no idea what they are doing. Granted, there are teachers at this center that I still adore- my list is just very short. The reason I am writing this review is because I now know things that I wish I would have known when my children were both enrolled in this center... they would have been pulled immediately. Think about the safety of your child... then rethink them being at Bright Horizons at Apex.

I am a current employee at this location. I have been here since 2015. I absolutely love everything about this center! I love how welcoming and loving all the staff are. There was a time when the administration staff were going though changes and there was an adjustment period. However, this was quickly turned around by Lauren, Catherine, and Kate--the wonderful administration team. All three worked hard to make the transition as smooth as possible for the staff, families, and children. The curriculum of Bright Horizons allows for the children to be fully engaged in various aspects of learning. All of the staff members truly love what they do daily and that is evident! Even if I was not an employee I would highly recommend Bright Horizons at Apex to any family that is looking for high quality care for their child (ren).

Caring staff and top-notch Kindergarten Prep. When we moved from NY, this was by far one of the best centers we saw in the area. The admins are easy to work with and the teachers really love what they are doing - all reflected in a low turnover of teachers at the center. We currently have three kids enrolled ranging in Infant to Kindergarten Prep.

There are so many other Bright Horizons that your child can attend, but this one is not the one. I can agree sadly with what other parents wrote. When Sondra was director, it seemed as if it was a happy place as a whole. Now, teachers are unhappy and stressed out, you can tell as soon as you see them. Ive walked into the building to inappropriate conversations within the admin team. The admin team consists of 3 women all under the age of 30, who in my opinion, have no idea what they are doing, it seems they are always running around like chicken with their heads cut off. Ive seen good, quality teachers leave due to unhappiness and instead, they are replaced with young girls fresh out of college--which is fine, yet does not ease my concerns as far as educated, seasoned, teachers. In fact, we just found out that one of the KP teachers is now leaving---who we were looking forward to having because it seemed as if she had her head on straight and actually did more than watch the kids throughout the day. There have been countless times I look at the parent boards, and either the menus are not up to date or old things are on there. Its as if there is no accountability at the center and the teachers do whatever they want, without a watchful or resourceful eye. I pick up randomly at times, and always notice the admin members in the office enjoying lunches and laughing and talking, and it seems the teachers just get nothing at all, just based on what I observe. This is not the center that it once used to be, and I encourage parents who want quality care, with actual experts in this field, to look elsewhere. Trust me, from one parent to another, this is not the center you want your child to thrive in. I used my work email to write this to remain confidential, but I felt it was important for other parents to know, and I too, will be looking elsewhere for a center that puts children first.

I am truly grateful for the experience my daughter had at Bright Horizons of Apex. She formed positive, loving bonds with her teachers in her Infants class and Toddlers class. What impressed me the most was how much she was learning at school at Bright Horizons. Lasha and Tatiana did so many creative activities with the little ones in their care: it was truly impressive and made an impact on my little one. We moved and had to switch daycares and it’s made it even more obvious how quality her experience was at Bright Horizons of Apex! We miss this place!

We transitioned our girl from Bright Horizons in Raleigh and the switch was seamless. We really love this location. Great staff, engaging curriculum, good menu and facilities always seem to be updating. Making the drive from Holly Springs to Apex was absolutely worth it.

This Bright horizons puts on a lovely facade for parents, but cares absolutely nothing about the children or the staff. They constantly leave teachers out of ratio, blatantly tell teachers to lie to parents about how their kids get hurt, lies to parents about things that happen in the center, etc. The morale has completely declined. The teachers hate working there & are quitting by the dozen. Parents have told me personally that they chose to leave this center because of admin staff & the concern with teachers leaving. Its sad because this used to be a great center. A teacher was transferred to another center for allegedly verbally abusing children (the state was involved and this is public record) & another teacher is currently on leave after being accused of physically hitting a child, but will probably return because there isnt enough evidence. Several parents were against Lauren Symonds becoming director & did everything they could to prevent it but it wasnt enough. Now shes barely on site & when she is, you can almost count on her boyfriend hanging around the center with her. The entire administrative staff are liars & manipulators & the regional director Lori Little isnt any better. Her only concern is protecting the reputation of the center, not the children or the staff. Id think twice before bringing my child here, despite how pleasant this center seems when initially touring.

This place is simply just poorly run. This center has so much potential and administration is screwing it up all around. I am a former parent and while I will not disclose which program my child was in I will say that there are issues among every single program. While I understand that no program or childcare center will run completely free of flaws, this center has many more cons than pros. For example, they have lost many of their employees and I can guess why... because I have heard the administrators responses to them when they ask for help. Administration does absolutely nothing to SUPPORT their teachers (which is supposed to be this corporations mantra). I have witnessed teachers call up front for help and admin not answer because they are busy talking about personal things or what seems like pure laziness. The new center that we became a part of you will ALWAYS see admin in rooms helping teachers, interacting with children, more than willing to do bathroom breaks, and always have something nice to say to their teachers. My child was having issues at Bright Horizons Apex most likely because it is a toxic environment. I dont see how upper level management does not address these flaws. I also have picked up several times during lunch and I have witnessed the current two admin order lunches from Panera, sassool ect. (I already know whos paying for those) while they stress on their teachers that they need to clock out right when they get in to ratio to cut costs. When we left this center there were teachers in classrooms that had no business being in the classroom, new hires that have never even been in a classroom environment but they are somehow trusted with 20+ children? Teachers are dropping like flies and the reason for all of the stress and grim looks on their faces is because they are mistreated and belittled by admin. If you are a parent I strongly urge you to look elsewhere for childcare, with people who actually know how to run a center.

We have been at BH for 3 years and couldnt be happier. Our sons have had loving, innovative and caring teachers in every class. Yes, there are transitions that take place, teachers leave but that happens everywhere and in every working environment and we have always been pleased with the way that the school works with those transitions by talking with the kids and with us as soon as possible. From the infant room to preschool we have been consistently pleased with our teachers. Extra cuddles in the infant room and now conflict resolution and affirmations in preschool - it is amazing to see how the teachers work with these kids.We were terrified at first at the prospect of leaving our children somewhere but now it has become a second home. The admin staff is knowledgeable, experienced and takes a personal interest in each child - looking out for what is best for them in particular in their specific situation. We have been to many daycares/ preschools and I think that BH Apex is above and beyond- first and foremost in their attention to the child, his or her learning and emotional self. I recommend it to everyone who asks.

I feel sorry for anyone with kids enrolled at this center. You guys missed the good times by about 4 years—back when Jennifer and Taylor were running things. Both of our kids attended this care center from 3 months old up until Kindergarten. Our oldest was fortunate enough to experience the heyday when Kathy was on her way out and Jennifer took her place, and Taylor was 2nd in command. I won’t elaborate on those times because they are long gone, but Jennifer would tackle any issue head on and Taylor would brighten even your worst day with her indescribably uplifting attitude and personality. Our second child unfortunately didn’t have the same experience. Soon after our youngest started the regime change began with Sondra taking the reigns. I don’t think she did a bad job but she had zero personality and since she started the teacher turnover rate increased dramatically. She was there a few years until she left for another opportunity and then they put the kids in charge—Lauren (director) and Catherine (business manager—whatever that is at a daycare). These two had no business being in the position they were given. These two had even less personality than Sondra, and I know it’s hearsay but I’ve heard from multiple sources that Lauren did not get along with many of the seasoned teachers. It wasn’t long until Lauren took the director’s chair that our favorite teacher left, Victoria. At that point our youngest had about a year and a half left and it was agonizing, but the center location was convenient and there were still a few trusted veterans left though not in our child’s direct care. I can’t believe what I saw happen. The center was exploding with new families joining, all while the good teachers were leaving and younger, less experienced teachers were hired but soon replaced with more young teachers. It was hard determining who the real teachers were (as opposed to helpers) because of the high turnover. When we left this place they had a few veterans left—Pat, Brenda and Ms. A, but they worked with the younger kids. It was obvious they were cutting hours of the real teachers—you never saw them at drop off or pickup. I will say that we really liked Lindsay as our pre-K teacher, and our daughter just loved Peter while she was in pre-school. In summary, the good times were hit and miss since they put the kid (Lauren) in charge. Until this day I do not know what that Catherine girl did there but man what a poor decision to put her at the front desk with her sour face and attitude to great you in the morning at drop off or afternoon at pickup. Bright Horizon’s in Apex really turned into a cold place after Jennifer and Taylor left. I would not enroll another kid at this place. Fortunately there is another daycare at about every corner in Apex. Good luck!
