As a resident of Apex and an African American I have always felt welcomed and safe in this community. We were one of the first families to enroll at Everbrook and our brilliant, high IQ, 5 year old was immediately singled out and harassed by his pre k teacher. She said to me, and I qoute , I use to work in the ghetto so I am use to dealing with kids like your son. Both my husband and I are professionals who grew up upper middle class to professional parents. These words came out of the mouth of a lead teacher with a masters degree. Apex can do better, this school and its leadership does not represent our community. A caucasian parent should be cautious of what your child will be exposed to as well. This is a no win situation.

Both of my children (4 year old and 2 year old) LOVE this school. Out of the three daycares attended, this one is by far the best. The staff are amazing, the leadership is strong and communicative, and my kids are happy! Highly recommend this school!

Picking a daycare is one of the most significant choices as a working family, deciding who you will trust caring and educating your children during the day, and knowing that they will be there to support them on the good days as well as the bad. We moved to Everbrook as soon as it opened in 2019, excited about the facility, cleanliness, and curriculum. I still believe that the foundations of the school’s education are good. Ms Hannah and Ms Viji are outstanding teachers who truly love what they do. Unfortunately, the leadership at this school was only “there” for our boys on good days and it became very clear to us that there are some major manipulative control issues going on.I could list several examples of inappropriate and deeply unprofessional things that were said to us, but will leave you with the most frustrating of situations. When our 20 month old started biting while teething in the classroom, it was implied on multiple occasions that he could have behavioral or sensory issues. It was made clear to us that Everbrook has a corporate behavioral team that produces resources for developmentally appropriate behaviors like biting in the classroom. One of those foundations is addressing behavior in the time and environment in which it occurs and we do not feel that that was happening as we were not having the same issues at home. Maybe it was the teachers, but we feel that the Director was taking advantage of the fact that, in this COVID world, we do not interact with the teachers each day and it is still unclear to us how much they really knew about our son’s situation and the things she was saying to us about him. I, to this day, have never signed a single incident report of our son biting another child. We had to ask for data of the incidents/times of day in which biting was occurring. We had to ask several times for a teether to be allowed to help him through his molars, and no surprise to us, biting went down dramatically when they finally let us do that. When we asked, per the recommendation of our Pediatrician, to have an observation done by Project Enlightenment 5+ times, those requests were declined or avoided each time. The Director pulled us into her office one day and told us that they did not believe that our son could be successful in a group care environment. We have since paid for an OT evaluation and he is doing very well in a new school. While he did not actually have any issues identified by the OT and was described as a “sweet, smart, and social little boy”, had he had something going on, this would’ve been deeply neglectful of the school to turn down so many requests for an observation. The Director’s opinions have contradicted those of our Pediatrician, nurses, and the OT. Our son was written off quickly as a lost cause and we feel that we were bullied out of the school.

One of the best child care centers weve been to. My kid loves this place, teachers and their programs. I give a five star to the school and the team, teachers and the principal. Very communicative and friendly staff.

This school took my $800 to hold a spot for my kids and then over-enrolled. Now I recently received a call that there will not be a spot open for my kids until 2021 but I’m more than welcome to attend a school out of my way. I asked about a refund and the director has conveniently been unavailable. She’s not returning my calls or is “not in the office” when I call. Avoid this school!

I just wanted to post a little note with some positive feedback. Over the last several weeks, our daughter has been talking a lot about Miss Joan and Miss Lisa, her teachers at Everbrook, and its been nothing but positive, happy feedback! She absolutely LOVES them both, and I appreciate all the work they put into class. Our daughter tends to take a little time to warm up to some people, and new surroundings, but she has come into her own since joining their class in April. I have to say, I could not be more pleased with the way they have taken care of her; it shows in how much she talks about them when she comes home everyday and how she cant wait to see them each morning. Theyve been so open and receptive every time weve had questions or concerns. Theyve been more than accommodating to all our requests about keeping us updated on certain things, and its been such a great experience working with them. Its always hard being away from your kids, but I have all the confidence in the world that they are giving our daughter and all the other kids in her class their very best, and I just wanted to say thank you! I could not have asked for better teachers. :)

Called for details on scheduling a tour and was greeted with no availability until 2021. I hadn’t told you anything. Would not recommend as lacking in simple customer service.

Oversold their classrooms and now telling parents two weeks before starting there are no spots for their children. Struggling to find other quality care now...
