I began my quest to find a Montessori school for my daughter several years ago. Upon visiting many Montessori schools in the Cary/Apex area, I stumbled upon Peace Montessori. Peace is run by an owner, Sharon, who truly embraces the Montessori approach and supports her teachers by giving them the resources they need to help children thrive both inside and outside the classroom. My daughter is thriving at Peace with the help from her passionate teachers. She comes home and talks about the science experiments theyre doing in class, the upcoming International holidays, and the different continents of the world. She especially loves the extracurricular visitors whom Sharon has incorporated into the students monthly schedule. These include Spanish lessons, Yoga instruction and animal/life science instruction. As a former teacher, I have high standards and Peace exceeds my expectations. Im happy to share that my daughter (age 4) is making meaningful relationships with her peers and teachers. In addition, my twins, whom are enrolled in the Toddler Program, have made remarkable progress...from language development to social interactions...I couldnt be more pleased with their progress. Once again, though, the credit is due to the passionate teachers who help make this possible and, for that, Im thankful for all that Peace Montessori has done to help my children thrive during the most important developmental years of their life.

Peace Montessori is simply an amazing school! Weve been a part of the school for over 3 years and plan to stay as long as we can. This was our first preschool experience and the teachers were nothing but supportive and reassuring. Their patience is endless and their expertise in the Montessori method is exceptional. Our son has completely blossomed during his time there. Every staff member is kind and readily available to help out and answer questions. Each classroom has excellent quality materials for the children to learn everything from math, geography, science, language and so much more. Our son just loves his school and his teachers! The staff have created a very warm, welcoming environment for all of the students and families. We recommend Peace at every chance we get. My husband and I really cannot say enough good things about Peace Montessori!

I really love Peace Montessori. I have two boys enrolled for the second year, and have truly treasured our experience here. My children are enthusiastic about learning and love their school. The kindness and generosity of the director and teachers has gone above and beyond, and Im really grateful my children have been able to attend. The one on one attention the lower elementary students are able to receive is really fantastic. I feel like the Montessori method just really makes sense for kids, and this school does an amazing job. It is a very structured program, without the rigidity of the common core. Montessori encourages childrens natural curiosities, differences, and growth spurts, and also helps them develop more independence and confidence. And I love the schools commitment to teaching children about different cultures, being good stewards of the earth, and instilling a sense of community. I highly recommend observing the classroom or talking to a parent of a student there if you are considering the school!

Peace Montessori has been a great choice for our child. He started with 6-8 and is about to move up to the upper elementary. He loves the school, and is still enthusiastic about learning. He regularly comes home to wants to show us what he did in class. His teachers have been great in making sure we know what is going on with him in class, both the good and issues that need to be addressed.

I can only reinforce and echo the other wonderful reviews given to this school. Peace Montessori has meant a great deal to my family. In fact, in many ways it became a part of our family. My child attended Peace Montessori for three years, just leaving this year to attend kindergarten. Everyone that is a part of Peace is simply wonderful. The teachers take a great deal of time with each child and genuinely care about each childs development. For us, one of the most important aspect of Peace Montessori is the sense of community that develops between the children, the teachers and staff and the parents. We made wonderful friendships over the years my daughter attended school. From an educational and developmental perspective, my child made amazing progress. The teachers were able to bring out her best and more than prepared her for elementary school. We are very sad to leave Peace Montessori, but we have the knowledge that Peace gave our child a fantastic start to her education and personal development.

We would like to share our experience at Peace Montessori . Even though my Toddler has just completed few weeks into the Toddler program we are already seeing day-to-day improvements in his language skills . He is getting to know new things everyday and teachers are helping in the process as well . As parents we also receive regular feedback from the teachers about my son . One small area of improvement we would like to see the monthly fees payments , where the process can be automated by direct debits from bank accounts rather the Cheque drop box method. This will ensure we dont need to worry about missing any monthly fees .Overall its been a positive experience in last few weeks and we expect more in the coming years

We first joined Peace Montessori for the school year 2006-2007, and just couldnt believe our good fortune for finding such a wonderful school so close to home. The teachers are kind, patient, encouraging, and dedicated. The director sets a wonderful tone for the school, and is easy to communicate with as well. The school is well versed in the Montessori method. My son thrived at the school and we were truly sad to leave when he entered public school. However, we knew that we would be back 3 years later when our yet-to-be-born baby would be of age. Indeed, we returned to Peace 3 years later when my second son joined the toddler room. He is now in his last year in the Childrens House with the same exact teachers as his older brother. This fact alone says it all as it shows that the teachers are truly happy and dedicated, and the environment is nurturing. We would highly recommend Peace Montessori.

Peace Montessori is a wonderful school. My son looks forward to going to school everyday and loves all his teachers. He really enjoys the learning style and has something new to share with me every time he comes home. His little brother will be attending next school year and I know he will enjoy it just as much. Fantastic curriculum and staff, I highly recommend!

Both our sons have been at this school since they were 2 years old. Truly, the school has shaped them in so many beautiful ways. The school environment is incredibly warm and inviting. There are supportive and caring teachers (by far the best I’ve met). Our kids are receiving a top education - their intellectual curiosity, love of learning, and creativity has truly been nurtured in this school environment. I highly recommend Peace Montessori to anyone and have to many friends.

Coming from a foreign country is difficult to adapt to a new culture, however when we discovered Peace Montessori we felt it like our own home. Our son every day is welcomed with smiles, with a clear daily work routine, with an environment full of peace and happiness that can be viewed and felt every day. We see our son developing, achieving work in silence, challenging himself every day, being independent, but overall we see a happy child that loves his teachers, his classmates and his preschool.Definitely his second home.

This is our daughters second year at Peace Montessori. She was getting lost in the system in public school so we sought out a school that would meet her individual needs. The choices in Wake County are many, but can be overwhelming. After meeting with the staff, we gave Peace a try. The experience for our daughter has been life changing. She is excited to learn and feels comfortable with her classmates and teachers. We are so thankful for the caring and positive approach taken by the staff. We feel that our daughter is not only learning her academics, but also life lessons that she will carry with her for years to come.

When my two year old daughter first started Peace Montessori, she wasnt used to being with anyone but me, and after a week of spending time with her teachers, she finally was comfortable staying at school. Her teachers were extremely loving, caring and patient with her, and I am so grateful that she had her first school experience at Peace Montessori. She loves going to school, and is going to miss it over the summer. I highly recommend this school!

We have been so impressed with Peace Montessori and the caring, professional teachers in the preschool. Our son joined in February and its amazing to see how much he has advanced in just three months!T loves the school, too. He often says to me, Mom...I love the Montessori and Do I have school tomorrow? Hooray! When our son shows an interest in something, his teachers go out of their way to find books to bring in for him. For example, they found a book on Egypt for him, and brought in a book on how to draw.I just asked my 5-year-old if he has anything to say about Peace in this review, and he said, Its a very great place and I learn a lot. Were thrilled to keep T in Peace for his Kindergarten year in the fall.

We moved to Apex because of Peace Montessori, for our daughter, who was struggling in the public school system. This is our first year and it’s been wonderful so far. This is also the first time we’ve ever gone the montessori route of education. We love the child-centered educational approach. Our daughter is thriving, loves school and is beyond happy in her new environment. The teachers are wonderful and she has made some very sweet friends. Feels like a family to us.

Peace Montessori is a tremendously rich, encouraging, and nurturing learning environment for our son. As someone who works in higher education, assisting faculty in becoming better teachers, I am in awe of the teachers at Peace who do amazing things EVERY day with their students. At Peace, my son is growing intellectually, socially, and emotionally in ways that parents dream about when they send their children to school.

We started both our children at Peace this year and have been BLOWN AWAY by both the quality of education and the warmth and kindness of the staff. We moved our older child from another preschool, and the change in his experience and learning is just insane-- he LOVES going to school and his learning comprehension is off the chart. I cannot say enough about how great Peace is. My only wish is that wed started our son here from the beginning of his education!

Update 11/2015: My children continue to thrive at Peace Montessori. My son attended our local public school for kindergarten, but we decided to make a switch back to the elementary program at Peace for the remainder of elementary school. The director was very helpful and supportive with this transition. He couldnt be any happier. His teachers are absolutely amazing and have created a classroom where the kids are really able to shine. He is engaged with his classwork, loves to share the new things he is learning with us & is challenged each day. He is gaining an appreciation for the diversity of the world, and learning what it is to be a part of a community. My daughter absolutely loves her class in Childrens House, and has learned an incredible amount in her time there. She is on the cusp of reading and is exploring early math. The children are able to explore what interests them in a supportive and nurturing environment. We feel very lucky to have found Peace Montessori.-------------We have two children currently enrolled at Peace Montessori. We could not be any happier with our experience. We have been met with nothing but support and warmth from the staff. And both of our children are absolutely thriving. We would not hesitate to recommend the school. It has been fantastic in every way.

My daughter has attended Peace Montessori in Apex for going on three years now. She loves going to school and misses her teachers and friends during summer break and other school breaks. I have no doubt she would not be at the same level she is now if she was enrolled in public school. She gets excited about doing independent research projects and learning as much as she possibly can. The teachers at Peace Montessori treat the students with respect and as a result the students respect and admire their teachers. If a parent is unfamiliar with the Montessori methods used for teaching, I highly recommend they set up an appointment to check out Peace Montessori to see for themselves how well it works!

My sons have been attending Peace Montessori since January of this year. We moved here from South Korea, so their English skills were good, but not great. After just four months of schooling we have noticed a marked increase in their level of communication. They have much more interaction with the teachers and classmates than they would in a public school, which I believe has been key to their rapid improvement. Our oldest is a bit shy, but the teachers at Peace really go out of their way to engage each student, and make them feel like part of the group. Thanks to the environment of caring at Peace, our shy guy is making friends and enjoying his lessons. I know my kids are in capable hands when I drop them off at school each morning.

This is our fifth year being a part Peace Montessori and we have loved every minute of it. My oldest daughter was enrolled there from the time she was two in the Toddler Room and then moved up and did all three years in the Children House (3-6 years old). She excelled both academically and socially in this environment. Our experience completely sold us on the Montessori style of teaching and I would recommend it to anyone! My younger daughter, who is much more shy than my eldest, is in her 2nd year there. It has been wonderful to watch her develop confidence and grow this year. She loves to learn and has thrived at this school. The teachers are extremely warm and caring, and they truly love being there with the children.

As we searched for a preschool for our daughter, we went from place to place all around town. We were disappointed in many options. Some options we liked and they seemed plenty good enough and we thought that would be that. But then we came to Peace and immediately felt at home. We knew within minutes we had found the perfect preschool for our daughter. The director, Sharon, welcomed us into her child-friendly office and interacted with Arianna much as we do: with respect, with care, with joy in her exploration. She gave us the tour through the entire school and eventually we came to the preschool classroom. Our daughter happily looked around and one of the preschool teachers immediately began working with her while we asked more questions. Our daughter was clearly welcomed and felt immediately comfortable in the surroundings. We soon enrolled and have been thrilled with the school in every way. Our daughter is clearly well cared for, thoroughly enjoys going to school and we see many changes in her development every week. Now that we are settled in as a Peace family, our only regret is that we waited two and a half years before seeking them out! What we love:--the Montessori philosophy: the work of childhood, help me do it alone, child-led learning and so much more.--the staff: very well educated as teachers and particularly in Montessori, kind and caring.--daily updates in our daughters journal--weekly newsletters that detail with words and pictures what is happening in the classroom and in the school in general--the responsibility given to children in so many ways from cleaning up, preparing snacks, doing their own work, communicating their needs--a general feeling of warmth with a deep understanding and respect for each child as an individualWe look forward to many years at Peace and encourage everyone to come see this school in person! Yes, a little different looking or plain on the outside, but a wealth of treasures on the inside!Editing this, a year later:My daughter has now been at Peace for two full years. Nearly a full year in Toddler House, then a full year in Childrens House (ages 3-5) when she was three. We returned this year and she is now a month into her year as four year old there. Before I can comment more on the school and her experience, I have to share this. My husband/my daughters father died unexpectedly in May, just four months ago. We whisked our daughter off to school that day for one last normal day. When I picked her up, I shared what had happened with the teachers, and they went into action. From comforting me, to offering additional care (e.g. the aftercare program), to garnering support from the other parents for a college fund for my daughter. They were quick and kind and generous. I cant begin to speak to how much they have done for us through this process. My daughter loved to read, especially with her Daddy, but that love suddenly vanished when he died. Our summer was challenging, on so many levels, and I certainly didnt give her the enriched environment at home for which we previously strove. When she returned to school, I expected a difficult transition, but she ran into her teachers arms with glee. In a few weeks, her love of reading returned, her math skills suddenly soared, and she is overall excelling yet again. It is most certainly not due to my interventions, as I still struggle with grief, energy, and parenting. It is all because of the teachers there who create such a warm, nurturing environment that is also challenging academically. I feared our loss would set her back significantly, yet with the return to school, I see her thriving again and know it is because of Peace school and the amazing care she is provided there.I cannot say enough good about Peace, the physical environment, nor the teachers and staff. They have basically saved our lives with their care for our family in so many dimensions!

We moved from FL and were looking for a Montessori school that both my kids (4 and 6) could go for the whole day 8:30-3:00. This is the only Montessori that offers such a program in the cary/morrisville/apex area and we are delighted by it. My kids were in montessori in FL so we knew what to expect but the teachers here are extremely patient and welcoming and both my shy kids have adjusted very well.I wish the play ground was a bit bigger but the kids dont seem to mind and find creative ways of spending time outside. The 2nd half of the day for the childrens house is Art camp. It is a so much fun and my daughter absolutely LOVES it. Being a small school you get the personal attention you miss in a bigger school.
