Both of my kids attend Fit and have for the past 2 years, this year being their third year. My kids needed a smaller school with more one on one teacher guidance and FIT gives my kids that. My kids were treated as Cant do kids in the public school system and were not up to grade level because of that in many subjects. At FIT they are put at a higher expectation of achievement but they also focus on their areas of opportunity. They understand that not all kids learn the same way and are very adaptable. The teachers and staff communicate with me on everything and we work together to find the right solutions when issues arise. I used to feel alone with the public schools and from day 1, with FIT, i have never felt that way. Not all schools are for everyone but this school is perfect for my kids educational needs. I feel that no matter where your child attends school, parents need to advocate for their kids. If parents dont, how can the teachers and staff know how to better help your child be successful? I cant be happier with our choice to join the Fit Academy family!

My kids have gone to FIT since it opened. We have been so happy with our teachers there, and also with the small-school, friendly environment that it provides. Its a great community, and the staff really cares about the children. There are some growing pains being a new/young school, but FIT is always working to hone in on things that are working well, and move on from things that dont work well. We highly recommend FIT, especially for families who want lots of movement in their kids day and who want a small school community. Also, while test scores do matter, its important to remember they are only one part of a school. FIT is still new, and the upper grade kids all started at other schools. It takes time for a school to implement learning plans that come out in great scores down the road. There are struggling students at every school, and sometimes they come to charter schools to get more help. That makes the school look bad while the reality is that they are helping kids who need them. Charter schools receive less money than district schools because they cant do tax levys. They have to do a lot with less funding, while welcoming struggling students, and meeting the needs of those who are doing great in class. One way FIT does this is by having kids who are working ahead in math go to the next class/grade so they are not bored. My family has really appreciated this!

Every kid learns differently and the teachers here realize that and go above and beyond to ensure that the kids TRUELY understand what they are learning. Very thankful to find FIT after researching other places. Small class sizes and it feels like family.

Weve been here since day 1 and have loved it. We love the small school feel. The teachers and staff are caring and work hard to find creative solutions. Weve been happy how theyve worked with us with an ADHD child, provided advancement for giftedness, as well as provided one-on-one tutoring for our kids who have struggled in a particular area. They have also quickly resolved bullying issues. Ive appreciated how they first assume the best about the offender and then if there are further incidents then appropriate measures are taken. Positive discipline rather than punishment. They have cultivated a wonderful school culture. I love the inclusion and diversity of the school. Though it was a bummer when my childs teacher went on maternity leave, I highly appreciate the value for family. Im grateful teachers are supported in caring for their own kids, as they work so hard to to teach and care for our kids. ❤Weve been very happy all around with FIT Academy.

We have had a wonderful experience with FIT since the opening of the school! We love being a part of the FIT family. We have two children in the school. We appreciate the care from teachers when voicing any concerns and the dedication to safe learning throughout the pandemic. No school is perfect but being able to communicate issues and work together with staff to come to solutions is a wonderful part of FIT. We look forward to our girls continuing their education at FIT and seeing the school continue to grow.

My name is Elly Johnson, and I don’t completely recommend this school. Most of the teachers are nice and have a good explanation when teaching, if you are looking for a small school with not to many activities, then this could be a good school, but if your looking for a big school with sport teams and stuff like that then, this is not the school for you. If you are hoping to enroll your children/child in to this school I hope you will have a great experience! :)

I can’t begin to describe how many ways Fit Academy has been such a wonderful school for my kids. My son struggled in other schools so I was looking for another option. My son entered into K5 at Fit with an IEP and with the support and attention he received from the teachers and staff, by the time he was half way through first grade, he was doing so well he no longer needed an IEP. He is now reading on a 3rd grade level and thriving in all areas. I also love how the school places an importance on physical activity and nutrition. They realize it helps set up a good foundation for children to thrive in all areas. The school is small which I love. It is easy to get to know the school and feels like a close knit community. The teachers and staff are phenomenal. We could not be more happy that we found this school.

The school has great middle school teachers but the people that have the authority to suspend you use it left and right and they take away your jackets and sweatshirts even if you are going OUTSIDE IN THE WINTER, it is a terrible school overall and all the good teachers have basically no say in anything except the english teacher, it is not a good school to go to if you are anything like me

The dean of students would say that the teacher saw you do something bad if you got sent down. The truth is that she is lying just to get you to confess you something you didnt do. Even if another student did you would be blamed for some reason. She would hold you down there for hours and call your parents even if you didnt do anything wrong. They have no skill in finding out what happened.

Cant say enough good things about FIT Academy. Even though my daughter started off as a distance learner, she still felt like she was part of her class. From the principal to her teacher reaching out to us, and even the office manager helping us through these difficult times. Keep up the amazing work you are doing!!!

If your looking for a school with fun activities and field-trips etc.Than your out of luck cause this school has none of that it’s really dry i feel like. Also not many people here so if your looking to make some friends you would have a better chance doing that outside of school and the food is straight up taste like it’s been in a garbage can for a year than took it out and gave it too you they offer no ketchup etc. for any type of food they have so you gotta eat what you got sooo yea might aswell call it a educational jail 🤦🏽‍♂️

This is our second year in this school (middle school), and we are not re-enrolling next year and will caution anyone who is looking into this school to reconsider. There is constant staff change, the minute your child enjoys their teacher and does well in that class, they are put in another role next year and then they put someone new (for example math class) who has a very confusing way of explaining the subject and students fail. When talking to these teachers at conferences, you get nowhere and dont even understand what they are rambling about. All kids are required to go outside for recess even if it is 5 degrees outside. Elementary kids are running around on the playground while middle school kids stand there huddled up for 20 minutes freezing! When you request to have your kid stay indoors for recess because theyre prone to colds, Tamra Paschall made a big deal about it being a requirement no exceptions and then takes your kid in her office to undermine you as the parent and tell your kid otherwise. Basically, parents are undermined and kids are forced to follow their rules and accept changes even if it doesnt make sense. Your kids grade point average will also drop because of the constant change of new teachers who are still figuring things out themselves will affect your students. I can go on and on, but I hope you get the idea. I guarantee you will be disappointed! Many great schools out there, this one is new and is still figuring things out, and your child is the guinea pig.

Love the community feel of FIT Academy. Teachers and administration are approachable and we have felt right at home. We have especially loved the emphasis on movement and the variety of subjects taught during the day (music, Spanish, Mandarin, etc). When choosing a school you have to make sure its the right fit for your child. Not every school is the right fit for every child so do your due diligence - visit the school, talk to people, and do your research. Each child has different needs to be cognizant of your childs needs and find the right school for them.We love FIT Academy and hope you check it out!

I go to this school. I personally like it! Way better education than my old school Valley Middle School of STEM. I have better grades in all my classes here than at Valley. I didn’t learn anything there, and I learn a lot here. Not once has anyone been bullied here in my witnessing so far. The administration aren’t bad at all in my opinion, they are really nice, I love Mrs. Paschall and the principal Claud Allaire. This school has a nice small community and it’s better than the large number of students in public schools. I like charter schools way better. I definitely recommend attending here.

Not a good school I can agree . I can’t not believe how horrible the iep staff and iep is at this school. My child has gotten way behind at this school. They never follow the iep. They give up too easily on your children . If a child refuses to do school work at school don’t just send them to the office . Figure it out .. iep should be helping . They don’t help . This school is absolutely horrible . Needs to be shut down . Poor kids at this school are not getting the education and proper help needed . I haven’t seen one completed sheet of homework this whole year from this school. My child is in iep and they are not doing the proper steps to help him . They are failing my child. I have to help my child get caught up after school since staff were not able to at home for that he did that day . It’s very stressful having your child at this school.

This is probably one of the most disturbing schools my poor grandson has to deal with. My grandson is a little over active at times. My grandson is in third grade and I have seen him suspended on so many occasions . My Grandson has been bullied been beat up in the bathroom . No I got suspended for that. Now I’m not saying my grandson is perfect but this is getting ridiculous over the smallest things he is being punished and suspended. Most times they will call rudely the front desk.lady many times was rude just horrible When I was at an IEP meeting for my grandson the IEP teacher Would chuckle when either the parent or myself would talk it was quite disturbing that I had to stop the IEP and ask her what she was laughing about while the third-grade teacher had her elbows on the table twirling her hair. I called head person that fund this school told her what I experienced With the suspension the IEP meeting and how the staff that represents fit academy I was so embarrassed ..I even told her that if it wasn’t for me having to leave quickly after this meeting I was going to talk to the principal and she encouraged me to do so and he didn’t see any of this which I find alarming when she sitting across from him.aThe two kids that beat up my grandson that were six graders now have charges a 5th assault Not one person called the family to see if he was OK not one person notified that maybe we should take my grandson to the doctors Except the bus driver it was all on video not one formal right up on it incident. Until I did it. This school should have red caution tape all over it. If they don’t like your child that has a little bit more energy might have a little bit and impulsiveness they will destroy them they will pick on them they will constantly call you saying you have to pick up your child will have the office staff call you. Where is the privacy. My grandson has done eight hours of testing he has another four hours of testing to see what kind of help he needs. All that fit academy has done has given up on him They just want to suspend him. Keep yo your eyes open and be extremely cautious and listen to your kids. This place is a joke it’s disappointing it’s quite embarrassing. Also That IEP teacher took it in her own discretion to discipline mybGrandson without parental consent had him carry a boardA board and have his teacher sign every day without a parent permission to See how He wasWhen we confronted her at the IEP meeting she out right lied and said she did not do it. I confronted her and I said you’re lying I If you can’t trust the staff that’s horrible. When you’re clearly in a meeting with The IEP teacher his teacher with her elbows and her head almost on the table twirling her hair My grandson got suspended for not doing any homework and he put his head downing the table. I can go on and on I hope you get the point. That school is a red flag

This is a review or opinion of this school from the view of a middle schooler that goes or went here depending on when you read this, but continuing on I will start out with the positives of this school I think the elementary looks like a great place to send a kid (K through 6th) they seem to have no problem and I have not heard of any complaints of bad education or bad teachers from any students. Also I feel that all the middle school teachers are amazing and possibly the best teachers I’ve had ever.(Halama,EJ,Krugger,Jacobsen,MicBride and the Chinese teacher) And the extra staff are great too (the secondary teachers) they are all amazing at their jobs and are great and keeping kids that need any extra help or are a little more advanced then others. I have no problem with this part of the school and really love it actually. If they got their own rating then that part of this school would be 10/10 The Negatives or cons I have have are mostly about the administration or what students call the office. First Punishments: I have got in trouble only a hand full of time mainly for minor reasons like arguing or yelling at other kids, so over all I’m not a mischievous kid in most cases but the way I see the school punishment system is ran makes me want to die (parden my language) It is VERY VERY BIASE to some students. I’ve had issues with one other kid in particular that has done many things to me and other students In our grade and this student has reseaved very minor punishments for very rude and horrible things like fighting and shoving almost more then hourly at this point students in my grade get shoved and pushed repeatedly daily and when they report what happens to the administrators nothing ever happens NOTHING keep in mind this happens daily They get complaints about this student daily and instead of doing something about it they ignore the problem (seems to be a trend) And The rude student that is causing problems reports another student for something minor then they get punished immediately. They don’t expell students because they can’t afford to lose money from that student 😝 so they just suspend students for OBSERDLY LONG TIMES. One has been suspended for a month and a half straight. They don’t like to solve problems so they ignore them. This is starting to really get on my nerves be I get shoved and pushed around by the same people every day knowing that if I do something to stand up for my self (Defending my self) I will get punished and if I tell the office that I’m getting harassed by them that they won’t do anything. I Hope this gets read by someone in the administration because A CHANGE IS NEEDED IM TIRED OF NOTHING HAPPENING. I think that this school needs work. In a lot of different areas but MAINLY just what I just mentioned. They have got a really good staff but I would really like to see a change in the way they do things it’s not worth trying to deal with that when there are plenty of other schools out there with better discipline...

Watch out, the administration will jump on you if you accidentally fall out of line in the parking lot. Even though there is no one else around and your the last one. Theyll come out make you drive elsewhere to drop off, and not do all the kid to exit the vehicle.
