This place is good if you are working on english or math.That was already taught to you in normal school 2 weeks ago.Ive been there about 2 or 3 years ago, and many of my schoolmates agree that any other place is a better afterschool.I mean that the owner of this place is strict, not normal teacher strict but overly strict, and rarely sees the side of the child.The teachers there are more like detention overseers rather than helpers.Their packets are useless.While they do have academic value, their system and their timing is off the charts bad.Meaning, if you dont understand a section and get many wrong, minimal help is given, and if you dont correct all the mistakes within 5 tries, they rip this sheets up and present you a new one.And another this about those packets, the staff members can and will hold your child back if they dont finish their assigned packet in time.One incident regarding a schoolmate, they were held back until 8pm and the staff members finally let him go after a serious shouting match between the parents and the staff members.Other points: When you screw something up, like a minor rule breach or an argument with a staff member, the staff member can and will talk, sometimes shout, at you giving the targeted child a serious blow to their self-esteem and face.Screw up a little more, and you get taken to the principal.The principal can and will shout at your faults, utilize them to break your child emotionally, and cause them to look at their knees and not defend themselves and risk another shouting round from the principal. Overall not a good way to let your child practice independence and the defense of themselves.Summary: only send your child here if you have: no regard for your childs self-esteem/emotional wellness/mental wellness, too much money to spend, and time to waste waiting for the staff members to allow your child to leave.

I used to be a tutor here, from 2013 to 2016. I did the afterschool tutoring, grading all the packets, as well as the year-long AP Biology course. Long story short, this is a traumatic experience even for employees. I worked here because I needed the money, to be honest. Not only that, the boss just needed me to work so that his son can pass AP Bio; after that, I was considered useless and fired. Dont trust a backstabbing school like this.

This place is great and it helped me improve in math and English by a lot. This place helped me skip algebra 1 in summer and I’m doing Geometry in 9th grade right now. I’ve also met lots of my friends there.

Steps Academy is a great after-school facility with staff members dedicated to assisting students with homework and improving their English and math skills. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves with individualized plans. These plans are made with the goal to either catch them up and/or surpass their grade level academic knowledge and skills. Steps Academy also offers enrichment courses and daycare services which benefits working parents during shorten school days and select holidays/breaks.

My daughter not only improves her English but also her Math in Steps Academy.Although she was born here, she grows up Chinese environment, so she can speak in English very well, but she is bad at writing and reading. Since she came to steps, her English proficiency has multiplied.Which I most like in steps program is their math. My daughter is second grade, but her math knowledge is forth, that is incredible, I am not worried about her studying anymore, so she has plenty of time for her dancing and drawing which she is the most interesting.Now my daughter has strong confidence in her school studying.This is amazing place where I really love. I really appreciate the help of steps teachers.I strongly recommend you should send your kids to here if you want they are good at their English and Math.

Its a really good place to improve your math and english skills. So far, this afterschool program has helped me improve a lot. I recommend this place to everyone, and the negative reviews are for the people that just dont do their work. As long as you do your work and do your packets, you will have a fun time.

My daughter has been attending Steps Academy for over 3 years. In that time, her grades have improved a lot. Teachers here are a little strict, but are passionate and responsible. I am grateful for what they have done for my daughter, and I truly believe Steps is the best after school in the area.

Steps is a pretty good place. Even if they give you packets, you can still finish them before the weekends. Some kids mess around and they end up taking packets over the weekend, of course, nobody likes weekend homework so they start hating Steps. But if you dont mess around and do what you need to do, you will enjoy Steps.

Steps is good place if you dont talk back to teachers and that if you behave. It helps kids get a better education. (TOTALLY)

Steps is a rather strict after school with good intentions. I go to the school across the street and it is very convenient for me to retrieve what I left there and come back. Before I go though, I have to call my parents to get permission. Then after I come back, I have to call them again. Sometimes, they make us take a partner with us so were not alone. They care about our safety.On minimum days, they order us lunch and put on a movie. Steps also provides free internet to use. They even have computers there for students to use!

This prison is trash dude. My 6th grade year was so much fun until I came to this prison. It literally makes you stay until like 11 if u didnt finish their packet. seriously, choose other after school instead of this prison.

I dont know how to express my mood to appreciate STEPS which helps my child to get into the honor class. In the STEPS, Thanks a lot

Whether you enjoy coming here or not depends on your personality.It is a bit stricter here than other tutoring schools, and the environment here may not be the best for studying, but as I have been teaching AP Bio here since June 2013, I have seen bright, hardworking students as well.Here, I learned that power, personality, and intelligence comes from within, rather than from the surroundings.Not all employees here are great; some are a bit too young to even be working. But people can be good, and people can be bad, wherever you go.If you do work or come here, you will learn very valuable lessons about humanity.

Steps is a great afterschool. They really care about your kids. I was very late from work to pickup my kids one day, and the principle told me to drive safely and said, No parents enjoy picking up their kids late. I almost burst into tears when I heard this. They provide shuttle from school, and help kids‘ homework. They always ask you if need help to watch your kids when there‘s no school. I sometimes find out there‘s minimum days through them cause they always ask me if my kids need to order lunch.Steps knows how to prepare your kids‘ future and they are experienced. I already recommended 3 families to this afterschool and I wish your kids will join us, too!

This place is trash. it lets us do underrated packets and the teachers are mean. please reconsider changing these things.

This place is pretty decent if you are quiet and if you never talk back to the teachers. This kids school ended at 2:30 PM and took the bus to Steps. On the first day of going to Steps, he came at 4:30. It took them two hours to get to the afterschool. I dont really think that kind of ride is okay or acceptable, especially when the teachers pressure you to finish your homework. You are forced to do afterschool work and that is okay. But, they make you do it during the weekends. They give you too much per week and you are constantly yelled at if you do not finish. This is kind of a torturing experience.

Gotta do ur best :) all the people say its bad but it is very beneficial for your education needs. Take it from me, send ur kids here if u want them to be successful in life. The principal helps u take care of ur kids. Now who doesnt;t want that?!

This place is absolutely horrible, my sister was put in there and she nearly committed self-harm due to the treatment she was getting from that place. I hope the place sees this review and thinks about what theyre doing that they think is right, which isnt, and is considered torture for most.

I used to go here, and I didnt learn much from the years that I was here. The teaching method was very ineffective and the work was repetitive.
