Thank you Dootson. I took your class A course in 2012. At the time Riverside Transit Agency was hiring city bus drivers. I went into the interview with my class A and got the job to drive the city bus. A year later I was promoted to training instructor. Having my class A already in hand showed that I was capable of driving. I learned that sometimes companies prefer to hire someone who has already demonstrated they can drive safely.
After visiting Dootson School of Trucking, I can see why they have been in business since 1951! The employees at Dootson are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I give them all 5 stars!

I dont know why there is only good reviews its hard to believe I had the worst experience at this school. I paid my schooling up front in Ventura, CA expecting to get my CDL in 1 month. I signed up in November 2015 was given my manual and that was it. Was told to get my permit and they would start my classes I got my permit in 1 week they told me they couldnt fit me in the schedule that they would let me know. 2 months passes and i kept pressuring them but nothing. I called to take my exam and Im told that the school is closing and that they cant do nothing for me. I have to get a refund through the main office in Arcadia and even this is a nightmare. I speak with Arlene who has the worst customer service. 2 weeks have past and Im told to wait another week wow what a waste of time. I would not recommend this school to anyone your better of going to another school. Very disappointed. Unless your loaded with money and have a year to waste to get your CDL. than good luck
Im sorry but the review from the person who visits the office and says I give them 5 stars is lame. I used them to get my Class B my trainer was good he was from Alabama. The issue I had was with Sylvia. I had a test date confirmed on the books I had waited nearly 2 months. The way I signed up for this school was as a walk-on which meant I would train when I had the time. After being told by my trainer I was ready for DMV I got my date and continued to wait. Sylvia at some point decided to remove me from my time slot causing me to wait another 1 1/2 months. She said she hadnt heard from me and tried to call but for what I have my date, no message no email. So this action caused for another long wait. I believe she gave my time slot to another person and bumped me. She handled this very strangely and had the office mgr on her side. But I was given this date by my trainer.The way I was treated when I spoke up told me what I needed to know. I did finally get another date but to this day I do not suggest this school as long as Sylvia is there. Again the Trainer was good the equipment was good enough but when it comes recommending a school because you think they were exceptional and offered service above and beyond the other schools I dont think so. After I passed the DMV I went on to get my S endorsement and used another school no problems took 3 months a lot of tests waited for my CHP test date went through the program smoothly got my CPR, and First aid, and TWIC. That trainer I always recommend to others.
