I have been glad to have my child with this facility for the past three years.UPDATE: We are back at the site, and our first day was great. Staff sent plenty of literature on policies and procedures that had been updated related to COVID. Very clear that they understand the risk presented and they are taking steps to keep children safe. My daughter came back home very happy and excited to return tomorrow.TL;DR:There is a clear love and care for every child at this siteStaff are happy and attentive,NEW site director is joyful, responsive, and accommodatingThe site has worked hard to improve over the past three years for both programming and facility, going from good to greatFull Review:We placed our daughter at this site on a moments notice after a major surgery as an infant had been completed and our arranged daycare became untenable. Staff in the infant room were responsive to all of our concerns, worked with my wife and myself to ensure our daughter was taken care of in the most loving and caring way possible, and provided us with a full run down of the day at each pickup. It was very comforting and reassuring for first time parents. At this time, there was some staff discomfort that we did see with the management team that had been in place. As our daughter progressed through the age groups, we found that all staff had taken the time to learn our daughters name and greet her by name in the halls on drop off and pickup. The site also experienced a management change which had a significant and noticeable impact on staff morale. The new and current director, Jodie Beth, is joyful, shares information readily, and works tirelessly to address both staff and parent concerns. She also added an assistant (director?), Cassie, who develops programming, serves as an additional source of information, and pushes into classes when needed. There is a bit of a newer issue for 2-3 year olds as there is not a larger format jungle gym for them to play on due to new regulations and issues with the municipality and property owner (something to do with wood chips), so this age group is relegated to a 1-2 year old play space and a black top with assorted toys. It is a bit difficult to swallow, but there are alot of changes happening, and perhaps they will be able to work this one out.Even with this issue though, the staff made the best of the situation and worked to keep the kids engage, and introduced additional programming both indoors and outdoors to close the gap left by the loss of the play equipment for this group. The facility has also worked with the property owner to address notable issues with flooding. Late last year, the entire foundation was excavated and new flood control measures were put into place (looked like sealing of foundation and a french drain). It was a massive project, but introduced minimal disruption to the day to day for the kids (loss of some parking temporarily and some play areas were closed for a couple of days). The facilitys handling of COVID has also been stellar. The parent organization had one or two sites open throughout the beginning stages to service the needs of first responders and they developed strict and encompassing procedures to keep parents, staff, and kids as safe as possible. During the full lockdown, even though no tuition was being paid, staff would hold zoom sessions for the classes to encourage kids to interact with each other and staff as well as provide story time, show and tell and more.Since this site has reopened, they have been flexible with families on return dates and have worked to communicate what is going on at the facility with great effect.I am glad that we were able to find a facility and staff that meet and exceed the needs of our family. I am looking forward to my child returning when we are in need of childcare again.

Reliable, kind, and responsive staff who treat my child as if she were their own. Weve had a wonderful experience with Play and Learn!

My child was at this daycare for several months before we decided it was time to find another center. We were excited at first and felt comfortable with the leadership change, but it was quickly apparent that the new Director did not have control over the center. Communication was poor and chaotic prior to the pandemic from the Director onto the teachers in the classroom. Although the Director was responsive, she never seemed to have a pulse on what was actually going on in the classroom. The communication we had with her or the Assistant Director was often confusing and left us feeling like we had just tried speaking to someone who was completely clueless. They would get our conversations mixed up, thinking we were another family, or had talked to them when we actually hadn’t brought up anything at all. It was a mess.Upon picking up our child, we would notice bruises or scrapes, but it was rare that they actually new why or how it happened, except for when our child was bitten by another. We never received a phone call about any falls or bites (our child was bit twice, including once in the face, while there), or other incidents during the day. We made it clear that we wanted that type of communication. We never knew what our child was doing each day. Being away from our child who had started daycare for the first time as a toddler was hard and yet unless we could stop by or call to check in during the day, we never knew what our child was doing. Daily reports were non existent through the app or otherwise. As parents we printed out the schedule and new curriculum that they spoke so highly of, but it was never followed in my childs class. We’d come prepared with whatever was needed dress or otherwise for that days activity/learning and the teachers wouldn’t even know that it was that particular day. They also never followed the snack calendar, so it became pointless to even follow it. The App that was used in order to communicate with staff was rarely looked at by the staff. There is a spot to record drop off messages and the teachers never acknowledged them. Whenever we would pick up our child, it was common to see a teacher or two sitting on their phone will children played. We live in the area and notice when we drive by the center, if children are playing outside, all of the teachers are sitting on abench on their phones. After switching daycare’s we realized even more how poor our experience was with this center. We don’t have any of the issues that we had before and our child is much happier. The best thing we did was remove our child from Play & Learn.

Play and Learn of Armore doesn’t deserve a 1 star but I had to give it just that to write a review. My experience here was absolutely awful. My son come home on two different occasions his eye were a size of a gulf ball and was only told on both times that he awakened this way no one knew exactly how it happened. On both times I reach out to Beth Higgins and she wasn’t available nor did she reach out to me to see how things were goin. On rainy day the basement would flood papers towel all over the place. The children were sleeping on the floor but when ask about cox was told that they don’t provide that. After a month of care there I started taking notices of things that was going on there so please do what I have done go unexpected and you will learn a lot.

This day care is dangerously filthy. The director, Beth Higgins, has no regard for any children or the staff. They cannot keep staff. Th basement the dayvare is in is falling apart. Toilets leaking onto eating areas and tables. Bathrooms are not properly cleaned or attended. My son needed 2 stitches at 3 years old because of their negligence. They have a mouse infestation. They do no have cots for nap time and my son, teachers and other children have seen mice ON children during nap time. There is almost no education being taught. They will lie to get ypu to sign up. They want your money and couldnt vare less about any of the children.
