I feel like this school is too much like an actual school. Let me explain:If a school is a school, then that school will school children like a school. Schools are not schools but schools that school people. The indoor pool was decent but I really did expect better room service.

Things will always turn out as expected. If you expect things to go as expected and it does not go as expected it went as expected because you expected it to not go as expected. Basically, things always go as expected.PS the school should be sued. They forgot to pay their gravity bill and I almost got blasted to the stratosphere in dodgeball.

When i was walking around at Ottoson for the first time i saw this big hunk of concrete on the ceiling of the tech hallway. ooh and their also is a big pile of plant fertilizer in the tech hallway

As a local guide, I have been to many schools, and this is the worst of them. The teachers are generally ok but many of them can be very politically centered and enforce their propaganda onto children. Some of the teachers are decent however. The facility is old and everything constantly breaks. The bathrooms smell of interesting things and are dirty and usually out of soap or paper towels. The school is also very involved in modern politics and do not allow any one to stand in the way of their propaganda. Many of the children here bully each other and the dress code is not enforced strongly enough. The teachers give you tons of homework (Ive had 10 tests in one subject the first month of school). This school can easily be very stressful with the wrong teachers. The school does not have enough advanced programs, and is generally under funded by a factor of 10 due to many of the students poor academics. Yet still the school seems to spend their money on stupid things like Apple products which break in 1 year, are low quality, and very overpriced. The school still buys them however because they think they are cool. All of the schools musical instruments are out of tune and broken by some factor. For example the piano is several years out of tune, the keys are chopped and key A1 is mute. Would not attend again.

The school is just fine. The problem is it is too close to Massachusetts and the US.

Hi so um this school is worse then Hiram from Riverdale. the only good lunch is the andrinas pizza and they spend their money on useless things. nobody gets detention from watching fortnite but when a tiny noise comes from a chromebook you get detention. oh and by the way... go to The Office, season 7, episode 19, minute 14:45 :)))) have a good time future 6th and 7th and 8th graders (and good luck)

The schools teacher are good depending on whom you get. If you are stuck in a sucky cluster you are stuck there the whole year. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting especially since the cleaning staff opens the windows and doesnt close them so its always cold in there. The school lunch is awful so you should bring your own. Advisory, which was new the 2014-2015 year SUCKS. It is basically a rerun of open circle. Also it is so you have a teacher that you know really well. This failed because my advisory teacher was (a) from another cluster and (b) you only see the for 30min every week, which is way less than all you other classes. So basically only some parts of this school are good.

It is a bit better than elementary school, you have more freedom and classes like dml which are fun. The problem is, the lunch is bad, crowded, and if you are too late, you will have no options and you will be stuck with the bad food

This school is the worst. I will divide how i feel into sections because OOF. Dont send your kid here. :)The bathrooms,Honestly, the girls bathroom isnt terrible. People draw in it a whole lot. THE BOYS BATHROOM HOWEVER! It looks like a meth lab, people carve genitals in the door and walls, and people have vaped in it. Yup, this is not from my experience, but all the males I know.The locker rooms.Once again, the girls is fine, except maybe get better curtains?The boys locker room... I can say this from personal experience at the beginning of sixth grade, the gym teachers gave us a tour of everything. The boys locker room has dented metal lockers, open shower stalls, no changing stalls, I swear I saw mold growing on the wall. The lockers for both rooms are about a foot by a foot.The teachers.Not terrible not great. My review has gone up considering the perverted teacher is now gone forever. One of my core teachers talks in third person, so uh... yeah. The teacher in another cluster is a homophobe and made suicide jokes. Enough of that.Misc.You have to pay sixty dollars per term to go inside before school or stay after school. Once, they kept everyone outside when it was 20 degrees, guess what? Thats illegal! He still does. Guidance is the root of all problems. Guidance tells your parents when you say anything to them. For some kids, thats the reason the go to guidance, to not talk to their parents. Or maybe, they came to talk about their parents. But... Just graduated from here, and I feel like its a pretty good middle school. For experience I would give it three stars, but that has nothing to do with the actual school. Middle school is just not great for most people. I gave Ottoson 4 stars because overall the curriculum, teachers, activities, etc. are good. Teachers vary, but are usually very helpful and understanding. My main problems with the school are the cafeteria food, and the rules.The cafeteria food is absolutely disgusting (except for Andrinas on Thursday). The school should spend money on things such as better lunches instead of wasting it in expensive iPads. Adults say that they wish kids didnt play on the internet so much, yet they place an iPad in the hands of every 6th grader and in iPad carts around the school. This does not make learning easier, and it distracts kids during class because they just play games. The chrome books are good because they dont break as easily, and students dont have a personal one that they can use at any time.The rules in middle school are ridiculous. Even with the new and improved dress code rules, teachers are still somehow offended by sholders and bra straps. They ask you to put on a jacket in the middle of summer if you wear spaghetti straps or something. In my experience dress coding was the most prominent in 8th grade, I dont remember it ever being a problem in 6th or 7th. In 8th grade, the teachers will be especially strict and say just preparing you for high school. My brother just graduated high school, and he can confirm that it is not as strict as they say. You have to sign out and take a hall pass to get water and if you forget to take a pass you get yelled at.....thats kind of extra. Maybe it was just my cluster; I cant speak for everyone because this was just my experience. Ottoson feels like a jail, you cant go to your locker to get something most of the time (mostly 8th grade, sorry for repeating that). Im making it sound pretty bad, but if youre an oncoming 6th grader, dont worry about it. Middle school isnt a big deal, and Ottoson is one of the better ones in terms of curriculum and teachers.

Ottoson is a school with very poor lack of understanding for the children that attend. Children are labeled as bad and the teachers are very bias toward certain students. Teachers are constantly throwing around empty threats. Certain teachers are feared by students and then other teachers will threaten to go and see this person The rules are strongly enforced on one person but the rules are very loosely enforced on another. There are no where near enough honors programs for students who excel in another subject exept for math. All the bathrooms are constantly breaking and the money to fix them is instead going to fancy iPads which are not needed and most of the students abuse. The school is very egotistical and my expirence is not an enjoyable one.

Building- 2.5 stars out of 5 starsThe building is okay, but the heating and air conditioning is broken, so some rooms are great and the others... not so much.2. There is constantly graffiti and TP on the walls and the floors, and kids do stupid things there, such as flushing clothes down the toilet, and the occasional smoking incident or two in the boys bathroom.3. Administration- .5 stars out of 5 starsThey havent given us the schedules for the next year when its 5 days before school starts, and thyre a bit clueless about school in general. Kids skate by doing anything somehow.4. Teachers- Depends.The teachers generally are great, particularly the core subject teachers. Yet somehow, some teachers just dont have a clue about what theyre doing. Most of the time, be NICE to the teachers and theyll be nice to you, even if they dont know what theyre doing. Teaching is a REALLY stressful job so just get to class on time, do your work , and dont purposefully annoy them. Be patient if you dont like OMS, three years float by quickly! :) All of my core subject teachers were AMAZING so 10 stars out of 5 for them5. Tips in general- Dont annoy teachers, Ive never gotten detention, but many people do for no particular reason (forgotten textbook, missing homework, late to class by a minute etc.)- Dont use your phone. Just... dont.- Avoid school lunch to the best of your abilities (It aint the best)- Do some extracurricular activities (theyre pretty fun depending on which direction you choose)- Its easy to get mad at the administration about stuff, but really, what can you do?In general, I like the school a lot, mostly because of my teachers. I would recommend it, but keep in mind that it aint amazing.
