I highly recommend Dragon Phoenix. Mr. Dison is a superb teacher--he exudes this Zen vibe and is so patient and calm with the students. Im quite impressed with all that my daughter learns and experiences there--they do a meditation, a short reading each session, and learn about a quality each class (such as perseverance, etc.), along with lots of time engaging in kung fu forms. My daughter has had an absolutely amazing experience there, and recently passed her Level 1 test and is now on her way to studying Tai Chi. She says she wants to be the youngest to go through all of the levels. :) If youre looking for a place in which your child will learn so much more than simply kung fu forms, I encourage you to enroll in Dragon Phoenix classes.

Very patient and thorough instructors, and the classroom environment is incredibly welcoming. Various affordable rates based on frequency of attendance and new students are welcomed in to see the class before committing. Cannot recommend enough.

My 11 year old has been doing martial arts at Dragon Phoenix for almost a year now and loves it. The instructors are great with kids and its been amazing to watch them teach skills and focus while also making class fun. I highly recommend Dragon Phoenix for any family looking for a martial arts program.

I have been studying for 2 years now and I have always had a great day and i have never been bored

Dragon Phoenix Kung Fu is the best class I could have wished for, Mr. Dison never pushes us further than we can go and hes always got new things to teach us in his class. I would recommend his school to anyone wanting to learn Kung Fu, as it has always been a fun experience for me and my friends especially with its wonderful technique and lineage.He has never been rough or unfair, and helped me see the error in my ways as a teen with the values he teaches us; Humility, Respect, Righteousness, Trust, Loyalty, Will, Endurance, Perseverance, Patience, and Courage.I wouldnt believe he would turn anyone away unless he absolutely had to. In my class there have been many people with disabilities and he has always been patient with them. I have never known him to become frustrated with anyone either, even when they have lost their cool themselves. I hope anyone who joins Dragon Phoenix has as good an experience as I have. :)

We love it here! So much so that weve made it a family affair. Both of my sons have taken classes and my husband began taking adult classes. Mr. Dison is a wonderful teacher who is passionate about his work and helping his students grow. He teaches so much more than just the forms. I know my son has grown in confidence, self esteem, cognitive skills, and physically from his classes. Give this school a try! Mrs. Dison is great too!

A unique focus on the needs of each child

Our son is a student at Dragon Phoenix, and has been taking classes for a couple of months. The patience and attention to form that Mr. Dison demonstrates exemplifies his role as a teacher, yet hes a perpetual student himself. Its amazing to watch how he gently guides the kids through poses, tweaks their stances, explains the logic behind a defensive posture and how it positions you for a possible offensive option. All the while, hes reinforcing character traits like loyalty, humility, courage, respect. There are all kinds of extracurriculars for our kids in this area, and there are some exceptional instructors, but I would be surprised if Mr. Disons focus was anywhere other than his students progress. This appears to be more than just a business venture for him. I would encourage anyone with even the slightest interest to give it a try. You might be surprised by what you find to be the most rewarding aspect.
