Erwin is growing stronger each year with a wonderful principal who is willing to collaborate to support student success. He is working closely with United Ways Middle School Success to build a Community School framework by embracing community partnerships. This includes the free Y Horizon program supporting student learning both academically and extracurricular.

I am so excited about the wonderful things I see happening at Erwin Middle School these days. The intentional efforts on the part of the administration and staff to completely reset the community perspective of their school from one that might not have been perceived as welcoming to one that has truly open arms for all students and their families. Activities such as Multi-Cultural Night, College Night , Homework Diners, Meet the Teacher Night and the list goes on of well planned and attended opportunities for Erwin district families to be in the school, learning and working along side staff to create an atmosphere of inclusiveness and meaningful involvement. The upcoming Meet the Administrators event is another great example of taking the school experience to the neighborhoods. Mr. Thompson, Erwin MS principal, and other Erwin district principals will be holding a session in the Deaverview neighborhood to gain input from families about how the district schools can better meet the needs of this group of students.We all like to know that our voice matters and Erwin MS is making that happen in the Erwin district!!

I love Erwin so much, they have amazing teachers and they do fun actives.
