My daughter has really enjoyed her private lessons here for the past two years. Shes taken off in her skill development and has developed a noticeable improvement in personal motivation to practice and improve. Very talented and professional staff. She loves her teacher and has a strong conviction for keeping music as a part of her growth and development.

My kids had had two years of prior instrument experience, but were both new to piano and were both on different levels. Kimberly took the time to really listen to me about the needs of each child when selecting a teacher for us rather than just assigning a teacher based on availability. When we met our teacher, he was just as she had described and it was clear why she thought he would be a good fit for our kids! Mr. Charlie is approachable, patient, and kind beyond words...not to even mention his ability to teach and engage the kids and keep the music relevant to their interests! The 5 star review not only comes from me, but from my kids as well! They love going to piano lessons and I love not hearing them groan about going each week! :)

This is one of the premier piano schools in western North Carolina. Our son has been going here for a couple of years and we can see his piano acumen improve immensely. He loves his instructor and the entire staff. They are very pleasant to work with. We are very happy with piano lab and are looking forward to the next recital!

My son started taking piano lessons 6 years ago. As a teenager now, he still loves his weekly lessons because of the wonderful teachers. They really connect with him and encourage him to learn the type of music HE is interested in (currently jazz). The director is hands on and provides the students with several opportunities to perform annually, which boosts their confidence in so many ways. We are proud to be part of the Piano Lab family!

Outstanding! I am an adult learner who was hoping to find some high quality training, and so far I am beyond amazed. The director, Kimberly, was really generous and attentive, and took the time to really figure out what type of plan would work for my goals. This is a wonderful place with good vibes!

My son has been going to Piano Lab for awhile now. This was the third place we took him and as the saying goes third times a charm. We absolutely love the owner and her staff. My son always has fun and Im amazed at the growth he has had. He is playing the piano like crazy. We are very, very pleased with Piano Lab!

Kimberly Canns Piano Lab is fantastic. She and her talented faculty work with students in a very personalized way, knowing that what works well for one may not be the best for another. My kids (now 8 and 11) have been at Piano Lab for several years and have worked in lab settings as well as individual lessons, and with different instructors at different times, according to their needs. Kimberly pays close attention to their progress and to what kinds of music, exercises, and practice regimens they respond to best. At Piano Lab, my children are challenged and encouraged in just the right balance to keep them interested and learning.

I took several lessons at Piano Lab Studios, with a goal of learning some theory and technique to further my journey in composing ambient music. And I hope to take a few more lessons at some point in the near future. I have to say, I immediately loved my teacher, Alex Watson. From the first lesson, I was learning exactly what I wanted to learn. He worked with me at my level, and never forced anything on me (a good thing for me, given that I had tried lessons a few times in the past, and always grew frustrated because the lessons were not geared for me, but rather to some preset standard). I would consider myself a challenging student because I grow impatient, I have health challenges that get in the way, and Im not a traditional piano student. Nevertheless, Alex continued to meet me exactly where I was, for each and every lesson. I also met Kimberly my first time looking into the studio to see if it would be a fit, and she also was dynamite. She asked me to play something for her (at the time, I couldnt even play a scale), and yet she told me something positive and constructive she noticed. A PLUS for Piano Lab, Asheville!

Continuing the study of piano as an adult with the Piano Lab has been incredibly rewarding and exciting! Kimberly Canns ability to understand and provide the best instruction and teacher pairing is amazing. There are songs which I never imagined I could play and I am now playing them thanks to the outstanding, custom-tailored instruction received by my teacher Alex Watson. My fingers move faster and more fluidly now, my understanding of music theory is getting solid, the repetoire is growing, and my confidence to step out and perform pubicly and for others has never felt better. It is wonderful to have available in this community the professional level of piano lessons offered at the Piano Lab.
