I personally believe this college is just way too expensive. There are definitely good teachers there and a lot of friendly staff but the price just isnt worth it. There are many four year universities that are way cheaper to attend than South College-Asheville. Do yourself a favor and go to community college or even a university because with both you are going to get a better deal

The absolute worst college to send your child to. My daughter did the PTA two year program at a cost of over 50 thousand dollars that I paid cash... no job waiting like promised. Now shes in nursing school at another school for about 20 thousand.. I talk to several parents at the stuffed up graduation in a classroom and several were very unhappy with south college of Asheville.. Im being nice so youll read. One family had a son that got a four year degree from Clemson and a real graduation for much less.. I dont complain much but this is by far the worst experience Ive had!!! My daughter made a bad decision and I paid for it.. my daughter tells everyone not to even think about this so called college.. I totally agree and everyone I meet with children, I share my story... for the love of God do not pay these con artist for something to frame.. William Wilson. And the 5 star ratings are from people who work there. Not real students. I couldnt find one person that had anything good to say about this school!

I had been out of school many years when I made the decision to go back to school to further my education. Chloe was one of the people I talked to and she was amazing! She cheered me on and answered any questions I had. I couldnt have asked for a better person to talk to about college than Chloe at south college! She explained to me that south college had many programs to choose from and the class sizes are smaller for better student-staff ratio and that was very important to me. I chose south college to help me better my future and I will never regret it!

Recently enrolled into their BSN PROGRAM and I have to say, this college does not fully disclose everything prior to admission or start of classes. The classes and style of teaching sets up more than half the class for failure. The first few weeks, weve lost many bright students because of this. I would strongly recommend looking for another program. Unfortunately I had to learn first hand how awful their system is, and they will max out the last of your loans. The teachers here have favorites and the staff that you are supposed to go for help to, dont do anything. This school does not care for its students or their successes. If I had to do it over, I wouldnt even consider this school.

This place will ruin your life! They max out all of your federal student aid and leave you $70,000 in debt! I promise its not worth it you. YOU CAN GET A BETTER EDUCATION AT THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR 1/10TH OF THE PRICE. THE NURSING PROGRAM AT SOUTH COLLEGE ASHEVILLE IS HORRIBLE. I wish someone had warned me of how crooked they are!

Great school! Small class sizes. Clean facility. Knowledgeable and respectful faculty and staff. The admissions process was simple, and fast. They really take the time to be personable, and get to know you. So far I have had a great experience while being a student at South College Asheville.

They assured me there were plenty of seats available in the program I was interested in. They told me I would go right in the program as long as I had the required GPA and completed the prerequisites. A few weeks in the last set of classes they made an announcement about there not being enough seats, but to apply to a similar program to better our chances of getting in a program. Long story short they wasted my time and money, I didn’t get in. Even though I did everything they said. People with lower GPA’s got in the program. To make matters worse their credits are worthless at other colleges. They only care about how many admissions they can get, not the students. Not worth the money! They also do not hold themselves accountable for what they tell you. Admissions always says you’re on a recorded line, that’s also a lie. Have your phone record the conversations...

I had 2 fantastic teachers but otherwise the whole experience was horrible. High teacher turn over rate. Shady financial aid department offered NO assistance or explanation to anything. Cut throat department head cared more about screwing over students just to make herself look good to keep her job. WAY TOO Expensive! DO NOT ATTEND!

I was a student in the radiology program in my last year before graduating. I failed a class, was kicked out of the program, and now owe $70,000 in student loans. That’s with only being there for almost 2 years! You can get a BS degree and still come out with less debt in loans. The quality of education is horrible! There are a lot of people who have failed or been kicked out of the programs this school offers and declare bankruptcy because they cannot afford the loans this school pulls out. They make applying to this school supper easy and rush you into programs. Please consider a community college near by and stay far away from South College of Asheville! I hope this helps who ever reads the reviews.

The current NCLEX RATES are 67%. Run from this school. Your chances on being successful are poor. Last year NCLEX raiting for nursing is 66.67%. Be careful to pay for an education and then not able to pass the test to become a RN

Attending this school has made going back for a 2nd degree easy, and comfortable. The staff is focused, and everyone who supports you there wants to see you be successful. In addition, they provide a ton of resources to help you be successful. If you are looking for smaller class sizes, approachable professors, and an overall good learning institution, this is a great place.

Stay far away from the OTA program at this school. The director of this program took the position after her predecessor was fired. She is unprofessional and does not get along with a majority of her students. The fieldwork coordinator is also unprofessional and does not consider students needs and requests when placing students in clinical rotations. The field of OT has also been stained with an abundance of fraud and malpractice. In October of 2019, Medicare was forced to reform how patients are billed, leaving many OTs/OTAs to lose their jobs. I would suggest finding a more stable career path.

Shady Financial Aid assistance that ropes you into horrible options. Little to no teacher help. Beware of accreditation and the schools you look into. There is a reason their reviews are not public unless you scroll for them.

Im new to south college, but I already luv it! There is a lot more one on one time with your professors. All of The advisors have been so helpful. The size of the school and the small class sizes are perfect for people who r there to learn. the professors are strict about what is allowed in the class room ( water, snacks) but it is all about professionalism. Your not gonna be allowed to have your water bottles with you when your making rounds at the doctors office or wherever your gonna work after school so you might as well get used to it now, right? And as far as money is concerned, you pay for what you get. The accreditations that this school has, far out weigh what other schools have in the area. And they accept Fed. Fin. Aid as well as other types. They even help you fill out all the forms and no payments till 6 Mon. After you graduate. I attended other schools and hated the giant class sizes and the teachers seemed too busy to help you. And I was treated like a number and an ATM. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants down to earth teachers, and small class sizes and a quality education.

Ive been at South College for about a year now, still have another year to go. So far I love it. Its a private college, so it is small with small classes. The teachers are awesome; they really value your education. It is very expensive, but worth it. The credentialing you receive is higher than other schools in the area. I went to AB Tech to register for classes, after three consecutive days of financial aid giving me the run-around, I was told I didnt qualify and would have to pay out-of-pocket. I made an appointment with a South College admin rep on a Saturday, spent half a day getting financial aid and registration squared away, and started classes the second Monday after. I cant speak for the legal or business fields, but I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to go into the health field.

Not true!! I attended UNC-Chapel Hill in the 80s. I am changing careers at 55 years old and I am very impressed with the caliber of professors at South College Asheville. Teachers are helpful and very accessible, unlike large universities. I highly recommend considering South College for furthering your education.Tandi Temple

Recent grad from Nursing program and i will say yes it is expensive and accelerated, but i was never lied to by any of the advisors or faculty. I feel they prepared me well for NCLEX and i successfully passed on my first try. I always hear people complain about how thngs are ran; however, what you get is expected and its up to the student to make it out successfully without incurring any extra debt.

Far overpriced for what you get. Below average teaching, little career guidance, and constant staff turnover. The quality of the teaching and flexibility of class offerings at ABTech or HCC are far superior if you are looking for a two year degree. If you want a four year degree WCU or UNCA are much more affordable and have better job placement connections in my experience.

Super expensive. Left with $30,000 in student debt for an associates degree. Also for a certification program that was basically self taught. Horrible.

This school is a scam school. If you are interested in the nursing program, DONT LET THEM CONVINCE YOU that you will pretty much be accepted in to the major program if you do your pre-requisites there. They tell that to everyone. They also told me that they were pretty much accredited for the BSN, which is why I initially went there. They were denied accreditation and still are only nationally accredited. This means that NO CREDITS you take there will transfer to any other school- not ab tech or western etc. So unless you are guaranteed, in writing, admission to any program, you will be in exorbitant debt and having to start over. Im surprised they are legally allowed to operate. Be aware. Get things in writing, or record your conversations with any admin people.

Sleazy for profit college, not an educational facility. A complete scam with great sales pitch promising definite entrance to popular programs that have years of waiting lists in real institutions. Big promises but resources are not in place to backup their claims., Only interest is burying students with government backed loans, to complete prerequisites. This is how they scam students who qualify for government funds, This is not a place for an education its a well planned con job.Cost to income ratio is a pit. Credits are not transferable, They have to have a few grads to continue their eligibility for government subsidized loans. But grads dont get jobs due to the reputation of the school. Eligibility for these loans is what gets most students into the pre requisite programs where you pile on debt. If you do manage to get accepted into a degree program and graduate you will not get a decent job due to the schools poor reputation.DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, YOUR MONEY AND YOUR OPPORTUNITY AT A GOOD JOB YOU WILL NOT GET IT AT SOUTH COLLEGE..
