I had my hair highlighted by Blanca and she did a really good job! This was my second time going there and I was very happy with the results both times not to mention I paid less than half than what others charge for the same thing. Blanca really took her time and made me feel a lot less anxious. I can tell she really loves doing this. I wish her nothing but the best in her career! And she curled my hair so well that it still looked awesome the next day after sleeping on it 😁✔️💯💙👍

I have never had such a terrible haircut before in my life. I frequently visited a beauty school from my hometown that would give me a beautiful and affordable haircut every time. I expected the same kind of service from this school as well. However, that was definitely not the case, I am 100% convinced the lady that cut my hair had never picked up a pair of scissors before today. I asked the lady for a straight shoulder length bob haircut, I gave her multiple reference pictures and she was confident she could do it. She turned me away from the mirror so I could not see the process and started chopping away at my hair. When she turned me to face the mirror again I had the right side of my hair at my shoulder and the left at my earlobe. I was mortified but tried to stay positive hoping the instructor could fix it, but looking back I know it was beyond repair. The instructor tried to even it out but it ended up choppy in the back and still crooked all around.You would think this school would let their students practice on mannequins before they start cutting real clients hair, but apparently not.Now excuse me while I cry my eyes out.

I walked in skeptical. I left CONFIDENT. MS Ivy flat ironed my hair and gave me a trim as well. She was professional and mega friendly. I plan to go back to her for the next year before she graduates. I loved my experience there. Thank you to the teachers as well for stepping in and instructing. Much love❤❤❤

I’m not sure why people are complaining about price. For color and cut $45 is way cheaper that what I used to pay (over $100). I have been approximately four times with new students to almost graduating and it has been a great experience. You have to go in with an open mind that yes you may wait a little bit of time during busy hours and it may take longer because people are LEARNING. The instructors keep a close eye on the students and check in often. We found the right red shade for me and I get complimented all the time! It’s a great place with friendly people. Highly recommend.

My friend asked for a simple bob cut and they left her hair all sorts of messed up: crooked all across the back of her head, and way shorter than she wanted it. Shes going to have to get it fixed at another more reputable salon. She left almost in tears and was forced to pay for the haircut.

It may take longer (no appointments and sometimes stylists are really new) but the prices are very low and the instructors are always monitoring the students. My stylist was not near graduation but her time and attention to detail gave me one of the best haircuts ever! Shes in one of the photos if you are lucky and get her assigned to you😉

I needed a wash and blowout with a flat iron to my hair. Miranda did an excellent job!! I think the instructors are doing a great job with their students. I highly recommend trying a student and giving them some experience. Obviously, other people that live in Athens know how great they are. They were busy with people coming in the day I was there. I am visiting from Fort Myers, Florida and will try and go for another visit before I return home to Florida.

I started coming for the low cost haircuts, but keep coming back because I want to support these students reach their career goals. They pay their own way for a year to learn how to perform various hair services. The four different students I have had have all done a good job. I have simple hair needs and this beats paying 4-5 times more for a simple cut. The only reason I did not give five stars is due to walk-in only system.

I have tried their services three times over a year span. The first time was a simple manicure and the student was pleasant. The second time we signed in and waited 30 min. before being told they didn’t have anyone to help us.The third and last time, I wanted another simple manicure. The student was very pleasant the staff was too. However, it quickly became apparent that the equipment/supplies/polishes are in terrible shape (old, missing and disorganized). While the student did try her best, the results are far from semi-professional. Having used other cosmology schools, I was very disappointed since I had hoped for the best.

I had a fine experience, it was 5 bucks for a hair cut. I have really long thick hair and wanted it cut into a V shape. My hair dresser had never done a V shape before but I was confident in her and her instructor gave her helpful tips to keep her going. Every other high end salon I had been to had messed up this hair shape and was unable to perform. Best hair cut of my life I got for 5 dollars by a student. will return.

I go there all the time for a great haircut. Yes, you have students cutting your hair, but with an experienced instructor looking over their shoulder or doing part of the job. Most chain salons have low experienced people working on their own and charge 15 to 20 dollars. The price for a simple haircut here is just $5.

We used to live in Athens when my wife and I first began coming to this salon. Afterwards we moved to Los Angeles, CA, but whenever we traveled into Atlanta to visit family, my wife would insist on a side trip to this salon.Now we live in Havana, FL (Tallahassee suburb) at least 5 hours away but this is the only place she gets her hair done.

I went to school here graduating in 2010. I owed $19,000.00 in student loan debt. For sure, I learned how to pass the State Board as required for liscencing. This is something the school is VERY good at.What I didn’t have was any certain knowledge as to how to actually cut hair!

I came in for a basic wash and trim and left with my hair looking like it was run over by a lawn mower. 😂 I find this hilarious and am going elsewhere to get it fixed tomorrow, but I just thought I’d post for those who wouldn’t find it funny if the same happened to them.

STAY AWAY. JUST STAY AWAY.Never get a hair cut from this place. I got the worst hair cut of my life here. I am never going back there. I would not go there if they give me an extra hundred dollars.I asked for a medium cut, they went really low. And they kept talking about how my hair grows differently, thats why they had problems cutting it. No one else ever said that before. They ruined my hair style.Summary, never again.

I enjoyed the school and the lesson plans. My instructors where knowledgeable and if one didn’t know they would find out. I could see myself going back for jr instructor course.

NEVER GO THERE FOR A HAIRCUT.My husband went there for a haircut. And that is the worst haircut he has ever got. I am glad it didnt happen to me. I would have cried my eye balls out.Students cut hair under a instructor. And its like they are experimenting on customers hair.NOT WORTH IT. NOT AT ALL.

Do not recommend this place at all. We walked in the door and several of the girls saw us walk in but didnt even speak, we had to get someones attention. They finally told us to sign in. We were waiting to get my little brothers hair cut. We sit and wait and kept trying to get someones attention to see how long the wait would be and no one would even acknowledge us. The girl that was gonna cut his hair finally came over and got us. My little brother started wanting to cry a little so his mom was gonna let him sit in her lap. Well the girl walked off and got someone else and came back and said if he cant be still we arent gonna be able to do it. So we just got up and left. She didnt even give it a chance she just went and got the lady to come tell us that. If you cant work around that type of stuff you are signing up for the wrong job!

I would not go back to them because they are unprofessional. They do not go in the order that you arrive, and they have favoritism as to who hair they want to do. Also, they have side conversations, which is also unprofessional.

Love the People that work there,especially when I brought my Daughter there for the first time! She and I Loved what they did and so do I. Made her feel comfortable at 6 years old then.

IT WAS HORRIBLE DONT EVER GO THERE FOR COLOR--TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLEASE BE ADVISED THEIR PRICES ARE AS HIGH AS MASTER CUTS IN THE MALL WITH A LISCENSED PERSON TO DO ITI was horrible. First they agreed to bleach my daughters black hair that was a dye. Then they assigned her to someone that knew nothing about color and she forgot to do the top. So the rest of my daughters hair was lighter in the back but had orange/reddish strips. And they sent us home that way. I really didnt notice how bad it looked until we got in the car and my daugher (14) started crying. She wouldnt go to school 2 days and I hate to say I dont blame her. So anyway the next day I called and said how horrible it looked and they said come back in one week and they would repair it at no charge. In one week we go back and they put a toner on it (which should have been done the first night after the bleaching)and the back of my kids head did look better but it made to top look worst because now you can really tell how differnt the top and bottoms are. I called back again the next day and talked to a manager who apologized and said she would fix everything the next day. We went the third time and the manager was not there and had not told them to fix her hair and the staff refused to do anythig and sent us home with conditioner because her hair was so damaged (which they contributed to) and said dont come back for a month. I took off work early the 2 and 3 time and they could care less. The first visit was 62.00 and they charged me 25.00 for the second visit that was suppose to be at not charge--so I have now spent 87.00 plus 10.00 dollar each time for tipping (may bad mistake). THE STAFFING WAS HORRIBLE THEY NEVER ADMITTED THEY MESSED UP HER HAIR AND THEY SAID THEY NEVER TOLD ME THE SECOND VISIT WAS GOING TO BE FREE. AND THEY MADE FUN OF ME AND THE MANAGER FOR SAY THAT (THEY SAID SHE DONT EVEN DO HAIR ALL SHE DOES IS STAY IN THE OFFICE). I TALKED WITH THE MANAGER AGAIN BUT THEN SHE BACKED HER EMPLYEES AND SAID DONT COME BACK FOR A MONTH. THEY SAID IF I COULDNT PROVIDE A NAME WHO TOLD ME IT WAS FREE THEN I MUST BE LYING ABOUT THAT. I HAVE CALLED THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE IN ATLANTA AND RECEIVED NO HELP THEIR THEY SAID I COULD GO TO GAINESVILLE OR TO ANOTHER ONE OF THEIR SCHOOLS. AND IT WOULD BE FREE THERE FOR THE REPAIR THIS TIME. ARE THEY KIDDING ME I WOULD NEVER LET ANYONE AT THEIR SCHOOLS TOUCH ANYONE I KNOWS HAIR. IT HAS REALLY BEEN A MESS. Fast and efficient

About a month ago I got a haircut after a HOUR AND A HALF wait due to a shift change and customers were ignored. Normally i get my haircut short and after their service, developed ingrown hairs that ended up becoming dirty and developing impetigo (skin infection) due to unclean clippers. Malpractice like this should not be allowed in the state of Georgia or anywhere. Legal action shall be taken place.

STAY AWAY from this place! Absolutely HORRIBLE haircut! The students have no idea what theyre doing! $4.99 does not include shampoo or blow dry. Youve been warned!
