Being a younger student of this driving school I was skeptical about whether it would be hard to get through just like school is, but the instructor was great. The class was very informational and professional. It went by quickly and the information is organized so well that both listening and testing came very easy and enjoyable to me. This is a great driving school. For the price and it was extremely worth it.

Weve used the services of A-1 Driving with both our teenagers, and the time and money are so worthwhile! David Cash is an excellent instructor whose patience and time spent with our children saved us a lot of stress! Scheduling lessons is easy and convenient, the feedback and guidance are clear, and we as parents were able to reinforce the driving skills in practice afterwards. A-1 ensures students are trained in accordance with the current laws and driving exam requirements. As parents, thats reassuring to know that we arent relying on how we were taught as the instructional standard. A-1 is a trustworthy and helpful service to know your children are more than adequately prepared as new drivers.

The defensive driving course was very informational. And the instructor was very knowledgeable and kept my attention the whole time. The personal stories was a nice touch. All and all 5 star. Mr. Albert had a lot of great history about vehicles and the information behind it. I learned a lot from him!

I recommend anyone who has to take defensive driving class or any other class to take it with A-1 Driving they are very professional and very respectful I learned a lot from it and the teacher was excellent with explaining everything to us.

Mr. Fowler was a great teacher. He always had candy for us and even when we where behind he found ways for us to get a break from the work. I would 10/10 recommended taking the actual driving course with a teacher with this driving school over the online course. You get more experience and a better understanding of the material.

The defensive driving class was very informative. Ms. Tarvar was very lively in her delivery of the information that was given to us, along with a few tips that I found helpful. I would reccomend this school to everyone that is looking to clear up some cobwebs on their knowledge of the driving rules.

This place is awesome! My instructor was Mr. Frank Fowler and he had a genuine heart when relaying the course material. Judy are the front desk was great. I felt welcomed the moment that I arrived. All of the employees were really helpful and showed genuine care in making sure that I had the information needed to get my license. My evaluation was done by Caroline and she was awesome as well! All in all I have a great experience and would recommend this place to all.

Mr. Hensley was a great teacher. He taught me more about how the high risks choices I make can really have a negative effect on my future. He really opened my eyes to how someone could get addicted to something when they don’t even notice it. Great teacher overall.

Whether you are registering for the Drivers Ed or the DUI school I have one simple suggestion for you: make absolutely sure your instructor is Mr. Frank Fowler. Mr. Fowler made a necessary evil much less painful than it could have been by being humorous, honest, and sincere in his desire to make sure that NONE of us ever returned because of drugs or alcohol. The facility was clean, Judy was helpful and a pro at getting me registered, and overall A1 in Athens is A-1 for a dang good reason. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Thanks, A1!

Mr. Fowler prepared me very well for the drivers ed exam! He makes class very enjoyable and he really cares about his students. I learned so much from him and I’m very pleased with the A1 drivers ed course.

Everyone at A1 is so friendly and Mrs. Nancy is the sweetest lady you will ever meet. I didnt think I needed to take the course before but afterwards I was glad I did. I got more out of the defensive driving class than I thought possible. Mrs. Jessmer was a great instructor. She was very personable, easy to talk to and approach with questions. She added information about the slides that were relevant to the class and the students taking it. I highly recommend this class and A1 Driving school. The only thing I wasnt too keen on is the lack of parking space. Its very limited, so arrive early. Definite job well done.

A-1 Driving School was the most engaging experience I have had with driver training. It was relevant and important information that everyone should know when driving on the roads! My instructor was engaging and gave real life examples to help up connect with the material. I would suggest that all drivers take this course every few years to keep driving skills up to date!

We did not waste much time and covered applicable topics for defensive driving today. I would definitely recommend this course to a friend.

This class is definitely worth it. I was worried it was going to be boring because a 6 hour class on a Saturday shouldn’t be fun. However Nancy teaches it material in an interesting way with personal stories. I learned a few things while there. There are a good amount of breaks so you don’t feel trapped in a room.

I had Mr.Fowler here and he is INCREDIBLE he works so hard and I feel more prepared and much more confident on the road. HIGHLY recommend!

A splendid, seamless experience with nicely planned breaks with food and coffee provided. My instructor was so kid and had a great sense of humor along with an acute wisdom and insight on/of life. I learned some important facts and lessons-- very glad I went.

I was dubious at first because drivers education has a reputation of being notoriously dry and dull; however, my teacher here, Mr. Frank Fowler, made the experience enriching and actually fun. I cant say enough about Mr. Fowler. He is not only ridiculously qualified, but he is also someone who genuinely loves teaching drivers education. His credentials are second to none, and his knowledge of driving is expansive. Hes also really down-to-earth and I really felt like he cared about us and teaching us in order to make us safe, good drivers. I learned a ton from him and will implement his teachings into my own driving. If youre near Athens and youre getting your drivers education from someone other than Mr. Frank Fowler, youre seriously missing out!

I have recently taken a defensive driving course at this location. The instructor was well informed and surprisingly I actually learned quite a bit through this course. Definitely feel more prepared for the road.

This course was well organized. The instructor was knowledgeable on the material and clearly expressed the material. I learned some things about how to be a safe driver and how to handle dangerous situations.

The defensive driving course was surprisingly not bad with Nancy as the instructor. She was super chill while teaching and there was a break an hour to help get you through it. Overall a pleasant experience for something not so pleasant.

This Defensive Driving class is definitely worth it all in all. I had a strong feeling that it was going to be boring and useless because a 6 hour class on a Saturday morning does not sound fun at all. However they teach the material and topics in an interesting way including personal stories from both the students and the instructor. I learned things there that still stick with me days and weeks after the class has ended. Nancy did a great job instructing us to be better drivers on the road and provided us with adequate breaks to help us stay focused and get through the day. You know I went in nervous expecting an all day torture event... I was totally wrong. Loved the Class & especially the teacher. Receptionist was very nice and friendly. The entire staff had a positive and great attitude. Very Informative and I actually enjoyed it! Will take this class again in the far future to keep our car insurance amount down for my husband and do not mind spending the day here at all :)even get to leave for lunch, all in all a great expeirence.cant wait to do it again :)

I went there for reinstating my license and and the class did not disappoint! We were offered many breaks and even an hour for lunch. The people answered all my questions and made sure my certificate got to me in the fastest, easiest way possible.

My grandson went to this driving school and he said it was a joke. Frank Fowler was totally unprepared to teach driving and he reported a background of getting speeding tickets and many accidents.Apparently hes been divorced twice and talked about his problems with family life, specifically raising children. He has a monotone voice which puts his students to sleep. Most of them played games and listened to music and such instead of listening to Mr. Fowler. This school is way to expensive to have lousy teachers such as this and they need to employ teachers who can really TEACH about the subject theyre hired to teach - driving. Apparently the last class will be spent reviewing the driving test that the school gives, but thats not up-to-date, so who knows if itll be beneficial for the actual test theyll have to take for their license. I have no idea if this review will be posted, as it appears theres mostly great reviews online, but if it is posted, Id suggest you look elsewhere to spend your hard earned money!!! Too bad I couldnt give a negative star...

My experience was somewhat unpleasant due to the instructor who spent most of the class talking about football, women, politics and cell phones. We did learn some good things at the end, hence the 3 stars.

A-1 driving schools was perfect for me to get my defensive driving class done! It was for a court ordered reason, and the class was obviously approved by the dds. They provide several breaks so you are attentive, and the staff was very nice. Overall good experience!

The class far exceeded my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone. Even to people who have not had a DUI. Susan was very compassionate and seemed to enjoy her job and sharing her experiences.

I definitely would recommend this business for the defensive driving course. Paying online is very simple. There were multiple breaks throughout the course and food was also provided. The teacher I had was very knowledgeable and helpful. She made sure we understood the content that we would be tested on, and consequently, I learned a lot!

Mr. Fouler was a pretty good teacher, but sometimes he would get himself down rabbit trails with which I couldnt find a relationship to the topic at hand; however, the class was informative, simple to understand, and the rabbit trails never droned on too long. Mr. Fouler made preparing for that test a breeze!
