THE FACT THAT WE GET LUNCH 10 MINUTES BEFORE SCHOOL IS OVER IS DISGUSTING. GET HELP YOU PEOPLE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WARM UP THE FOOD, WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG? PLUS ITS NASTY. SOME KIDS CANT EVEN EAT AT HOME UPGRADE YOUR FOOD. VERY MUCH GHETTO.

This school has been amazing for me and my child. We came from another APS charter school that fail in comparison to Centennial Academy. Over the course of 4 months, my son has had tremendous gains in both math and reading. He has been recognized as a budding artist which makes me extremely happy because his previous school didnt have art classes. At Centennial, they focus on the WHOLE child. Not every kid is meant to be a Rhodes Scholar. Some of them will become musicians, artists, or poets and this school does a great job of cultivating each students individual talent. The STEAM program is awesome as this school partner with GA Tech, which is right across the street from the school. The Gifted Program is taught at the GA Aquarium which is within walking distance from the school as well. The teachers are excellent! Each grade level teacher knows every scholar and you can tell that they partner with each other in order to meet your child on their level. They take the time to teach the curriculum based on the level your scholars is on. With a progressive curriculum set up for K-8, I look forward to my son continuing to evolve into the person hes meant to become. Centennial Academy will make sure that this happens.

My son is in Kindergarten and he absolutely loves it. He’s learned to read very quickly and takes pride in being in good behavioral standings. The staff cares about us and is very good communicating. I never wonder about my son. Nothing but love for Centennial Academy.

One of your alumni does not know that Canada is not apart of the United States and I think that’s really bad because he is a grown man. I guess that is not taught in elementary school anymore.

I am disappointed with the teacher to parent communication. Parents are not allowed in the building at all to speak with their child teachers unless there is an appointment. Not during drop off while breakfast is going on nor during parent pick up. If you want to talk to your childs teacher you have to set an appointment. I did not experience this at my childs last charter school. Hand written letters have been sent to the teacher and sometimes the folders are not checked. Therefore, there is no reply. This is concerning to me because I am very concerned with my child and what is going on. She informed me she went on a fieldtrip and I was never even told where they were going let alone that they were attending a field trip. I am aware that I signed her off to go on all field trips in her parent packet at the beginning of the school year. But why would they not let us know what is going on during the school day? Especially since my child is only in kindergarten.

Called multiple times and can’t reach ANY staff memeber because NOBODY answers the phone. Hero desk is a joke why because nobody is there to greet you when you arrive and again doesn’t answer the phone and the same goes for enrollment I can’t reach the staff who is over enrollment. It’s really a joke at this school and LACK of professionalism. I have never experienced this in Cobb Co schools. I literally have to wait how long to even get a call back. Just POOR!!!! Y’all need to do better!!!!!!!!

I have been apart of this community since 2004. I do not understand how this school has a 4.4 score in 2018. When they were K-5, this school was absolutely wonderful and on point with everything. I believe they have taken on a little more than what can be handled. My child grades have not been properly recorded since school started. Once they became a Charter School, and zoned our kids to only this school all of the older teachers left. I do not feel like my child is learning here properly, and I should not have to pack up and move elsewhere to get my child the education she deserves. Also this year round calendar schedule also should be on the regular APS schedule, because it never coincides with other after school programs. The after school programs are aligned with strictly APS, so for working parents we always have to scramble our kids to other places when they are closed just like now. We should have more than one option of our kids attending a regular traditional school environment, and not just a Charter school. Inman was the option that was wiped away from us during the vote that a lot of people who voted yes to this Charter school did not realize. Unlike me I voted No, because I did not want to have my child education placed into a trial and error debacle. Sometimes children need to be placed in different environments of diversity, because the world is not one color.

I am a single mom without any family here in Atlanta. Centennial Academy has been a phenomenal experience for me. My son has attended Centennial since Kindergarten. He is now going into the 2nd grade. The Principal, Asst Principals, and Teachers are ALL AMAZING. I love the family-feel of everyone there. The faculty is always willing to help and bend backwards to guide and assist me. I have carefully observed the Teachers interacting with my son and other students and they treat the children as if these precious beings are their own. The curriculum and STEM programs are AMAZING. At times the homework can be alot for a 1st grader lol, but it is all worth it. One more thing - the morning yoga for the kids is so innovative and really helps get the wiggles out of them before class. The YMCA After-school next door has also been a life-saver for me. If you are a single mom without any family here in Atlanta . . .I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you enroll your bundle of joy into this school asap and make sure you attend the Parent Teacher Meetings - these meetings are so insightful.
