A-1 has not offered in person Joshuas Law courses since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020. We found that out through email after booking the Joshuas Law courses. If youre student has autism and trouble learning virtually like mine I would recommend you choose a different driving school. The website made multiple claims stating that you can choose whether or not to take the course virtually or in person; however, the manager informed us after we had already paid for the course that A-1 has no plans to start up in person Joshuas Law courses in the near future. They did not discount the price or offer an alternative. The site still states you have the option for in person even though its not true. The front desk woman is also extremely rude. Pick another school if you value kind service.

My wife and I paid $75 per person to take this class. The class was supposed to begin at 9:30 and last until 4:30. We were on the call for about 30 minutes while the instructor asked the class what they didn’t like about traffic and other useless information not pertaining to the class. The instructor also asked if any police were on the call and if there were any relatives of police. When he learned the answer was no to both, he proceeded to say “we can now talk about police” and made several negative statements about the police. We did not pay $95 per person to heard cop bashing.

This is an updated review.The COO of the company reached out to me and helped me facilitate all of my communication. He really went above and beyond to help me get into my scheduled course and to ensure that all lines of communication were open. I completed my course with no incident and was able to get the certificate I needed. He even followed up with me to get my feedback after the course. He did not pressure me in any way to update or change my review and told me he would like for his company to earn a new review. I appreciate this.The course itself was a breeze. It was very easy to understand and the instructor was not boring or dull. He encouraged class participation even over a Zoom call and answered any questions, even if they interrupted a point he was making.Im hoping the COO can fix the initial contact issue theyre having and as long as he can, I think they will have many more 4-5 star reviews in their future.

I called on the phone and the women who picked up she acted as if I was bothering her. Like as Im asking questions she is answering me in a tone as if I’m suppose to know majority of things are virtual for this driving school. Don’t do a job if you’re going to have an attitude like this. I thank god it wasn’t face to face because her tone of voice and responses were disgusting. I don’t even want to attend this school for my lessons or anything because of her. Thank you anyways

I signed up for a six-hour defensive course to meet court requirements to reduce points/fines. The virtual training was presented by an instructor who provided his interpretations of the driving regulations and, in several cases, misquoted the laws. Participants were treated like children in a daycare in several instances if participants did not answer in unison the instructors questions (i.e., what do you do when you come up to a stop sign?) The material presented seemed like a review of the DDS rules and regulations more than a defensive driving course, and although I met the court requirements, the purpose of the course is to make you a safer driver. I dont believe this was accomplished with this virtual course.

I had signed up for the Defensive Driving course, and through every step of the process (signing into the virtual class, signing paperwork, taking the final exam, and receiving documentation) I’ve had to constantly reach out to the main office through emails and phone calls to follow what should be an automated response process. However, at the end of the day the manager went above and beyond to try and recover the mistakes, and the instructor of the course is a funny guy and a great teacher….If they didn’t have issues with the automated response it would easily be a 5 star reviewEdited afterwards to reflect change in experience

I scheduled my son for the Joshuas Law course which came with 6 hours of driving lessons. They initially did not email me the link to schedule the driving lessons and blamed that on me. Then when I received the email, they had no drivers in our area available for the next 4 months. When I selected a driver outside of our area, they emailed me informing me that the driver cannot pick up my son for the lessons and that I would have manage a drop off (driving from NE to SW Atlanta at 3:30 pm through traffic while taking off time from work). When I called to cancel the lessons so we can see if anything comes available in our area over the next 6 months, they were very unhelpful. So, in short, they will take your money, be unhelpful and rude, and leave you hanging with no means of receiving the value for what you paid for up front. In addition, they are brusk on the phone and quick to get you off the phone as soon as possible, even if your situation is unresolved. Be warned.

The person answering the phone does not value her job it’s almost like she pushes the customers away. There need to be a position change honestly she is literally bad for business she is the first line of communication her input is most important

A-1 is the best defense driving school there is they make everything so easy they make sure you have fun during the class it a awesome class to be in instructor is really know how to teach the test is super easy

The person answering the phone is very short with people and rude. She claimed her name was Shontalay or something of the sort but she was speaking low couldnt hear her. Also she hung up on me in my ear. When I called back for the manager she said she was the manager. She doesnt know how to talk to people.

I reluctantly took the Defensive Driving class in order to lower the points on my license. I was dreading being cooped up in the house all day to take this boring class especially since it was online. However to my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Who knew!The instructor Ms. Turner made the class fun as well as very informative. She is a wealth of knowledge. I would recommend A-1 in a heartbeat not only if you are required to take the class, but as a general refresher course and to stay on top of new laws. The laws change all the time and the public is not always made aware of them.**Note that I registered at the location in Decatur on Memorial Drive.

A1 driving school is a great place for you to send your teenagers or your self as an adult too, to get your license and to learn how to drive safely on the road and understand what to do, they require 6 hours for your to take the test if over 18, and more if you’re under 18, but they also benefit you overall in other ways, also tho it can be quite costly it’s very beneficial to you as a customer.Less stress on the parents or guardians,No worries about long waits for the dmvGreat opportunities!

I took the virtual class over the weekend and I must say I actually enjoyed it. My instructor Mr.Berry made it very fun and not boring. We were given 10 mins breaks throughout the course with a 60 min lunch break which I thought was good.

DAndre Berry is the best instructor I have ever had out of any teach I have had in elementary, middle, or high school and even undergrad or graduate school. The man has a special gift and truly does make a difference. Ask for DAndres class if scheduling.

I really enjoyed the defensive driving course. The instructor Patricia Tarver was very helpful and I couldnt be happier with the services they provided. My license was reinstated the day after I completed the course. And everything went smoother than I expected. I would definitely recommend using to anyone.

I really have enjoyed my experience with A-1 Driving School. They have made the entire process easy from start to finish. It is well worth it and the teachers are great. They definitely help you to get comfortable on the road. I would definitely recommend!!! from the driving lessons to defensive driving to taking the actual road test (both of which they pick you up and drop you off).

Please don’t go here. I chose to spend almost $400 to help me drive. Instructors are awful. Can’t speak English and you can barely understand them. On top of that I didtn learn anything. My classes were cut short. And they refused to refund me. I even missed hours and I still had to pay for those. Read all the reviews. It is awful and they are expensive. You literally learn nothing your better off teaching yourself or going to someone else. Worst decision I ever made. The owner Mike is the most unprofessional person including his HR.

Darryl was an excellent instructor - very understanding, knowledgeable, informative, and dedicated to safety. I learned much more than I thought knew by taking A-1 Driving Schools Defensive Driving Course. A big plus was being able to do the virtual class that fit into my schedule perfectly. I highly recommend this course and school.

When i first saw the class was for 6 hours i literally wanted to pull my hair out. Once the class started I realized it would fly by! The instructor was amazing and super funny. He made the material interesting and fun. The lessons we were taught was very useful and informative. I 100% recommend this driving school.

Good Class. Easy to book online. I signed up for Defense Driving 6 hour class simply to reduce my insurance cost +$150 per year for the next several years. The instructor Albert Turner had a great sense of humor and good life stories that honestly did not make the class boring. He was very knowledgeable. They are licensed and accredited by the State of Georgia. Recommended.

I took the Defensive Driving class online because of COVID-19. Took breaks often so it wasnt too painful. Mr. Turner was great. The cost, $95 is what is mandated by the state, so anywhere you go it will be the same price. Because of that, I recommend A-1.

To start I hate I even had to take the class so keep in mind its not their fault why some of us are there. To begin I wasnt happy with the price of the class but in all fairness it was that consistent across the board. I surprisingly got a reminder call the day before my class instructing me to arrive early for check in. Upon arrival the receptionist I first thought her tone was rather direct and borderline unprofessional but later realized she was consistently this way with everyone and honestly meant no harm. As far as the instructor Ron, what can I say he was fantastic. He kept everyone engage and I actually cared to pay attention to him outside of not wanting to really be there on a Sunday ..football Sunday at that. All around this class was great, very informative, and educational on levels I didnt expect. I definitely dont plan on coming back and will obey traffic laws but for what its worth I highly recommend!!!

Took a driving lesson and during the lesson I ask her, Imani for help and she said she wasn’t going to help when it’s what she is being paid to do(to help). Imani is mean and not helpful. She doesn’t encourage you instead she calls you names. Very unprofessional I do not recommend A-1 driving school because they are unprofessional (Especially Imani Hines) and they never have any bookings. Run away from A-1.

The teacher was very informative on all sorts of information. He made the class go by with ease. Goes over all laws and things to watch out for on the road. I happened to forget the teachers name, but he was a great guy and could make a quick joke to put a smile on your face.

Phenomenal course. The instructor Albert Turner was not only extremely knowledgeable but had a wonderful sense of humor. He taught me things that I definitely was not aware of. Not only that but he was a military guy, had lots of cool stories and life experience. I took the six hour course in one day for points reduction and it was worth every penny. I plan on bringing my family back. Great school, cant go wrong with this place. I highly recommend it.

I was new to Atlanta from the UK and needed to take the road test to obtain a Georgia driving licence. I took 4 hours lessons with Felicia and Christopher who were both great teachers and I passed with flying colours! I look forward to my defensive driving course too. Ash was very professional, helpful and responsive. Highly recommend.

This the best class hands down. I looked around online to find cheaper options for my 6 hour defensive driving course. Went on limb and chose A-1. Best choice Ive ever made. Id specifically recommend the Atlanta location off of Cheshire Bridge Road. Not to mention, the instructor Keith is literally the best hands down. Overall 5 star experience.

My son had a great experience. The instructor was patient and very helpful. I feel better that he took the course and that Shannon Johnson was a phenomenal instructor.

I attended the Saturday course a couple of weeks ago. I went in as most do, thinking it would be a waste of a Saturday, but I was surprised. The instructor - Darryl Oliver, was excellent. He kept it interesting and kept everyone engaged so that the time went by quickly. I am like most drivers in thinking that I already am the best driver on the road and know everything I need to know. I was wrong. I learned a lot and given that the cars we drive are weapons capable of ending a life - I am grateful for the reset in my thinking. Im sure it added to the probability I will live longer than had I not gone. Especially the time spent on aggressive driving and road rage. When you think about it, we have drivers ed once in our lives. There should be a refresher class requirement for all drivers every 10 years.

Was driving in front of one of your cars/drivers around Little Five Points. I stopped for a school bus because you know, it’s illegal to pass a school bus, and the car behind me honked at me and then proceeded to tail me for a while. I look over and it’s a DRIVING SCHOOL car. Oh the irony. The reason why there are so many horrible drivers in Atlanta is probably because of you guys. Good job!

Considering the circumstances, I could not have asked for more. Maggie in the front office is patient and informative. A major asset. I had Lulu as an instructor. She made everyone feel welcomed and was very intelligent with a spark. My other course was met with great stories and thought provoking conversation. The addition of the sandwiches next door was a nice touch considering all that can be weighing on your mind. I could not have asked for more and, although it is easy to judge a book by its cover, it is a well orchestrated and warm environment for whatever reason (big or small) you may be there.

This has to be the most unprofessional business I have ever encountered. Last week I had an appointment for a driving class at 1 pm. Throughout the week, they sent me multiple confirmation texts and emails, which was great. At 10 am, the day of the appointment my instructor, whose name was Sheree Johnson called and left a voicemail asking me to call her back if I was interested in taking my class earlier. I was not interested and I did not even see the voicemail until late because I was asleep. At 12, she called again but I was getting dressed and did not notice. At 1, I was expecting to get a call from her telling me she was outside and did not. So, I gave her a call and asked how far she was because I did not see anyone parked outside. She told me that she thought I wanted my appointment cancelled because I never called her back. I told her this made no sense because I never told her I wanted it cancelled. She explained that she often calls students and when they don’t pick up she ends up being parked outside and no one ever comes out. I told her that her past experiences had nothing to do with me as it was 1 pm and I was ready for my class. I had planned by entire day around this appointment, even taking the day off from work. So, when she suggested that I do the appointment at 3:30 because she was already with another student 5 minutes after MY appointment was to start was a blatant disrespect of my time. I called the office and they sided with Sheree explaining that it was my fault because I did not answer the calls. The representative also told me that in the voicemail Sheree left she asked me to confirm my appointment for 1, this is not true. Sheree simply asked me give her a call back if I would like to move up my appointment, I guess she wanted to push up all of her appointments so she could get off early. Both the representative and Sheree were more than willing to give me a refund, instead of working to give me a better experience in the future. They clearly know very little about customer service. The employees at A1 Driving School are lazy, so I would strongly suggest not booking their services. Please save your time and take your money elsewhere.

I recently took a class at your Atlanta location and your instructor John was great! He was very knowledgeable and made sure to answer all of our questions I would highly recommend A-1

Instructor was enthusiastic and made the content as interesting as possible. I even learned a few things. Must be on-time to class, or they will not allow you to enter and you will have to re-schedule. After completion of this class, my speeding ticket was completely throw out in court. I just had to present my certificate of completion to the judge.Overall, would recommend to anyone trying to reduce points for insurance purposes or get out of a traffic ticket going on their record.

I took a class at the Cheshire bridge location and Rhonda did a wonderful job keeping the class engaged and focused on the topics she discussed with us. I would definitely recommend A-1, thanks for a great experience.

My instructor was Karen and shes FANTASTIC! She has real life stories that applies to the content of the class, which helps you in remembering the material thats discussed in class. The best thing is that shes very entertaining, so with her, time just FLEW and before I knew it, class was over! I learned a quite a bit in the class that I didnt know and some of the things that I learned was because the laws was recently changed and of course they dont update you to the new laws, but Karen knew and that was a plus. The facility itself isnt that fabulous, so dont expect much out of this location, 😂... but the staff is exceedingly friendly!

The instructor was A1, I really didn’t think I would have learned so much while having a good time as well. Thanks for getting me through this. I will definitely recommend everyone to come here no matter the distance.

I enjoyed the class. The instructor Brady Johnson had to come in as a replacement instructor last minute and did a great job. This course is the perfect way to reduce points on your license or get a premium discount on your auto insurance or in some cases both. There are always plenty of class days and times to choose from to fit your schedule and the staff are very accommodating.

Surprisingly, not nearly as bad as expected. Our instructor Joel did a good job covering the material and keeping it somewhat entertaining. Sending the rest of my family to class in order to reduce our insurance costs.

Instructor was imformative about most everything he spoke of which often went off topic but was occasionally funny. I dont know if the class legally has to be that long but the necessary information could be compressed into 3 hours easily. He did however tell our class that if they get into a skid not to turn into it. Thats only gonna work for people with Electronic Stability Control which is only required after 2010. Im sure plenty of people there myself included do not have a vehicle that new.

Great DUI class and the teacher challenged the students to participate during class, which allowed other classmates to learn and understand each others viewpoint. I learned a great deal from the teacher about practicing low-risk choices because the teacher cared about the students and making the right choices. I recommend A-1 Driving School for Drivers Education.

I had to take the 20 hour driving course and the teacher I had Mrs. White was great! Very sweet and knowledgeable lady with a lot of great stories who made the time go by surprisingly fast. From the minute I came in to do my assessment at the Sandy Springs location to the end of the three day class at the Atlanta location everyone I encountered was curteous, organized, and professional.Thank you for making it as painless as possible and quite informative and enjoyable.

Nice and convenient website for finding a time that works for you and easy online registration and payment! Class is super easy. Laid back. The state requirements are very easy and instructor fills in with plenty of conversation. Highly recommend using A1.

When I was required to attend this class i thought it was pointless. Rhonda made the class extremely informative and fun. I hope I never have to attend again, but this place was definitely good and clean and respectful of everyone that was in my class

First off I have to thank Emma for being awesome , very helpful. Also Sheila kept the defensive class interesting and surpassed my expectations. Just dont use your phone while your in class lol. Fair warning

I might have been the very few who went for an Insurance discount. I showed up 5 mins before class and the only seat left was up front, about 5 feet from the teacher. I preferred it as I geek out over things like this. The teacher was incredibly easy to learn from. She obviously knew what she was doing and it was easy to interact and ask questions. Yeah, the videos are a little dated but it gets the point across. You take a quick test at the end of the day and you get your results back before you leave. The process of getting your certificate was quick. Id take the class again and recommend it to anyone who wants to feel safer on the road.

This school was informative. My instructor was efficient and created an interactive environment which helped the time go by. This 1 day class included up to date information on driving laws in GA. I give A-1 Driving School an A+

Although most of us were required to take this class, our instructor Mr. Albert Turner made it into an informative, engaging and rewarding experience. This Defensive Driving Course will have a lasting impact on my driving and help me stay safe and avoid any future tickets.

Shacara Thomas held a great Risk Reduction class that I participated in. A true master at her craft and skilled educator. The staff onsite was also super helpful and informative, she knew the answers to questions and provided advice and extra help to get my classes and tasks competed.

Nobody wants to take this course or be put in the situation of having to take this course. However, our instructor Jill was hilarious and personable. She gave perfect examples and was very knowledgeable that helped each of us understand the subject matter. Furthermore, her stories helped pass the time faster.

I ended up learning a lot. It was very informative. They should teach this to all young adults. Class was fun. We all had a good time while learning.

Very Disorganized!!!They just cancelled my appointment without even telling me?? And got the nerve to put me on hold while I was trying to explain my situation.

The instructor is easy going, I enjoyed learning the driving laws of Georgia. I am here for business, this class opened my eyes to laws that aren’t the same in my home state. The test was not difficult at all, it was a splendid surprise for me.

A-1 Driving School was just that, A-1. Keith was very knowledgeable, and the class wasnt nearly as much of a drag as you might think. Everyone should take this class so I dont have to honk at as many people on 285.

The class was actually fun. I enjoyed the Poole I was there with and the instructor Joann was awesome. She made it go by fast by making it not so boring and actually teaching us about the class. The area isnt so bad so dont listen to anyone else review

Absolutely rude . They act like you are an inconvenience when you call. I would recommend you taking your money where you feel appreciated. Its seems like a scam as they ask you to pay then book online. They never return calls.

Recently attending Defensive Driving with Mrs. T as my instructor and I must say she was a very thorough instructor who also gave real life examples that help us understand the seriousness to driving defensively. Also, he made a class that is typically boring and made it interesting to the point the entire class was able to participate and enjoy front beginning to end. Im glad I was able to take this class and receive the knowledge as well.

Extremely Impressive and very informative class for a defensive driving course. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and made the course very interesting and I enjoyed it thouroughly. I recommend A-1 Driving School as being the best of the best in the Metro Atlanta and North Georgia Area.

A-1 Driving school was close and convenient for me. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the teacher, and the class as a whole. There were plenty of breaks, I was happy that they provided lunch(it would be nice if they could include a drink), and the class, itself, was interesting. The only thing I wish they would include in the class is EVOC training. I think it would benefit many people to learn how to control their vehicle on a skid track, first hand.

NO availability for weeks out!! I was not told this before signing up for the school which led me to request a refund. I was told that bank fees would be deducted from my refund but eventually worked it out with the manager to get my full amount back. I was not satisfied with the wait nor with the initial response to my refund request, however, I am glad that I got to work things out to get my money back.

My instructor, JoAnn was very knowledgeable and informative. She made the class enjoyable and go by quickly. I got 100% on my test! They take your money for driving lessons and then tell you to book online. When you go online there is NO AVAILABILITY and when I have called to discuss several times, they just keep telling me they will look into it and still no driving lessons are booked because no instructor is available. Feels like a scam.
