Dr. Ronald E. McNair High Schools mission is to educate, equip, and empower students to compete in a 21st Century global society. Under the direction of the relatively new leadership, students experience an environment that seeks to enrich students lives despite their individual adversities. The school is not perfect! I would argue that no school is! However, protocols are implemented to ensure that student achievement are at the forefront of every decision. The school and its leadership need the support of the community to continue to carry out the mission.

Do not enroll your child into this school. They are terrible. The staff is rude. I called to ask about registration because I was given info to call the school. The lady that answered the phone was so rude. And yelled at me for asking questions. I told her what I had been told the previous day and her reply was well what do you want from me. After being given the run around for two days you think someone at the school would be willing to help me find the right answers. Avoid this school at all cost. My child would not be attending this horrible institution. If the office staff doesnt even care about the students then I can only imagine what the teachers are like. And judging by the tons of other bad reviews this school needs to be shut down or taken over by people who actually care.

This school lacks what most schools have. The teachers and students have to worked harder than most of the average schools in the county. Therefore, the school have a high transition rate of teachers and parents who want the best for the children’s education. Those teachers and parents will seek other schools. The school lacks great experience leaders who can make a change. This school use to be one of the best schools in the county (academic/sports, etc.) now it is one of the worst.

All though mc Nair was a bad rep its getting better with teacher and student reaction the staff is trying to turn the school around for the greater good of course things like theif and not so good behavior going to happen every where but the kids are use to people telling them there not good enough and the teachers are working very hard to turn that around and tell then they can be something in life no matter what happens they all so have a really good band who made the highest good rating in festival three years straight thank to there new band director

Mcnair High School has at least 25 high achieving students currently taking college classes and receiving college credits at No Charge as long as they continue to excel in their High School and college classes. These students will graduate in 2018 twice. One graduation is Graduating from High School with Honors! Then they will graduate from College with an Associate degree! McNAIR has many supporters, Principal, teachers and opportunities for students and involved parents. Years ago the school was not one I would recommend. But Principal Loukeisha Walker cares and you can see the great impact her work has contributed. It is a place where excellence is being exhibited!

Teachers not helping kids an all they do is call you an complain, u put ur kids in tutorial still they complain. Alot of kids complain about this school... A student told me a teacher say... They dont have to teach they will still get pay, .. They failing ur child an punishing the whole class when 1 student act up. One boy say he make A an B an the teacher took points off him when the class up up. If ur child not acting up they drop their grade y because of another student or they didnt put enough writing on their school work.... Y... Parents dont let the teacher make your child fail. I m trying reall hard with mine an still its not good enough. A girl told me some of the teachers have problem at home an they take it out on the kids. Teachers textin an talkin on their phone. They giving them work on top of work an not even giving them enough time to finish.I would like to put my son in another school but from the looks of all the other school reviews... Its just sad an disappointing.....its like u better off giving them home school.... Stand up for ur kids parents... U want a better education for ur child u must stand up an make sure they get it...

1 of the worse High Schools in Georgia! Went home with a headache everyday. Students run most of the teachers away. I was a student here before & boy was I glad that I left. Kids are always fighting. So much negativity in the school more than anything.

This school is just terrible not saying all but most of the teachers are full of it and i am a student that cant stand going here . If Any body really cared they would get rid of the students with bad grades and are always skipping. There are records of those things and if someone cared they should and i am speaking to head of this whole operation ,they should just close this school down and fire most of the teachers and head of staff including people in the office and principle. Not saying i know all of the teachers that do a bad job but i know some that deserve to keep doing their profession such as Ms. Shaw, Mr. Hinkle, Ms.Lambert, Mr.Stevenson , Mr. Tenny , Ms.caldwell , and Mr. Salter and about 2 other teachers.As for the rest of them you all should feel ashamed and be fired.

This school was a mess I did not like it for my son. They stole his cell phone while he was at wrestling practice. They stole a pair of his shoes. Then while he was in class learning they picked his locker and stole his bran new leather book bag!! I just took him out of there so fast now hes at south atlanta high its much better. They have a security guard and a armed officer at the front door they have metal detectorso and each child book bag get search before they can go into the building .Mac nair has no type of security at all anybody can just walk in their building any time with anything Noone searches the kids they dont have metal detectors #HOTMESS!!!

This school teaches its students not how to be responsible but how to lie cheat and steal they steal the students money promising things they cant provide and use it on themselves they feed the students food they probably wont feed there kids the councilors dont council the way they should really if there could be a lower rating i would put it honestly this school is the worst possible school to be in it dirty and unsanitary there is a sewer under one of the halls the bathroom doors dont have locks on them and they are also out of either soap or napkins sometimes even toilet paper everytime i walk into this school i feel sick also the councilors mess up the students credits so sometimes they have to do extra work and get more classes to make up the missing credits putting strain on students

Having graduated from this high school as well as the middle school, I can tell you that the students AND the teachers are at fault. Some of these teachers need to be put in their place, and the same goes for the majority of the students.

One of the worse schools in dekalb county the teachers are more worried about there pay checks than teaching students.the school is always on the news about break ins ,coaches touching girls, the head football coach carleton is full of IT , lying to kids telling them he can get them full scholarships if they play football for him , football team is trash ,they need new coaches

This school has been terrible. Most teachers only care about their paychecks and are rude. Granted there are some students that are that way as well.

Lets just say its way more schools in Georgia and you guys should try them because mcnair was freaking terrible so glad I left and never looked back
