I took photo 1 and familiar portraits classes from ASOP and my instructor was Starr. The experience was amazing, as I am brand new to photography. I feel confident and I feel that that basics are very clear in my mind.I am looking forward to Photo 2 and Scottsdale farm photography classes that I have signed up.Thank you!!

In 2019, I made several attempts to sign-up for their Photoshop class, but was always full. I was finally successful, in April 2020, but the world had shut down, by then. Turned out to be the best thing ever as Zoom was a fabulous way to take these classes! One turned into four classes and I havent stopped yet. These are not easy skills or programs to learn, but Sara and her instructors (HUGE shout out to Dave, the Zen Master of Photoshop!) at ASOP make it painless and are SO supportive. Having the Zoom videos to refer to is also FABULOUS! From wherever you are in the world or local, dont hesitate to take any one of their amazing classes. You wont be disappointed.

I just finished the Photo 1 classes and loved it!!! Ive learned so much and cant wait to take Photo 2 and Lightroom Classic. The pictures Ive taken in the past of my kids sporting events were blurry and way too dark but the pictures Ive taken since are fantastic. Allison is such a great teacher and is so patient and helpful. Ive taken photography classes from other companies but ASoP is a step above. I love the hands on, homework and reviewing everybodys homework together because is helps in taking better pictures. One of my favorite things is the variety of times and days the classes are offered. Thanks so much ASoP & Allison. Also one more thing...my camera was acting up and I was in a panic because I needed to take pictures at a game the next day. I called and left a message for help and Sarah called back that night and was so helpful. Of course it was a user error. lol :-)

Dave was extremely thorough and moved at a pace that suited absorbing the material. Several topics were included that have been difficult to master on my own. Great critique was provided on photos used for class exercises. The course is highly recommended.

Very helpful and informative. After the first class, I had much more confidence and in less than a month I learned how to use the important settings on my DSLR camera. Photo 1 gets you off automatic mode so you can take the kinds of pictures you always wanted to take but never knew how. Highly recommend the class to anyone who is starting off and who wants a thorough introduction to photography in a hands-on learning environment that is both supportive and fun.

I have taken Photo 1 and Photo 2 at ASoP w/Allison and I can’t say enough wonderful things about the experience. Other than having a DSLR and being an iPhone photography enthusiast I came into these classes with zero technical ability. Everything was taught in a manner that was engaging and easy to both follow and grasp. I learned a ton of new skills and I’m armed with valuable knowledge to take photos with my DSLR out of auto mode. I will be taking Photo 3 as well as Lightroom & Photoshop in the future and any other classes they offer that seem beneficial to me. If you’re hesitant and on the fence go ahead and make that investment, you won’t be disappointed as these classes are definitely of value. Thanks to the staff of ASoP for making this an awesome experience!

Id only had my camera for two months before deciding on classes. ASOP got me out of Auto mode on first day of class, before I got stuck there permanently. Dru is very knowledgeable and energetic. He is very approachable during and after class with any questions. Thanks ASOP!

Great Team and a great learning experience. I had the chance to attend Photo 2 and I will now also sign up for the Portrait class. Staff is very knowledgeable, competent and friendly! It doesnt matter if you use Canon, Nikon or Sony. They also offer volunteer work for their students!I also like their place on Sheridan Rd. Its a good little venue for a school like this. Easy to reach, parking available and food right around the corner!Cant wait to start with the Portrait class!Thank you guys!

Fantastic staff, you will learn a lot

I took Photo 1 just so I could start making better use of my camera, and now I am going to sign up for Photo 2. I was amazed at how skilled our teacher, Sara, was at teaching and managing to bring everyone along when there were so many different cameras (maybe 10 or 12 students.) They have created a wonderfully supportive and creative atmosphere and have all kinds of classes. Highly recommend.

Excellent class. Allison was thorough, professional and relaxed. Although a lot of material to absorb, we never felt rushed. This class was recommended to me and I strongly urge anyone else interested in photography to attend. Also, the class being offered on a Sunday was a tremendous help.

I attended photo 1 course in Atlanta School of Photography and enjoyed every hour of the training. Topics are well sequenced supported with relevant assignments that enabled in depth understanding of the course. Alex, the instructor is a wonderful professional that helps you appreciate photography. Highly recommend!! High value return for the money spent on the course.

This class was exactly what I needed to learn how to use the camera I just purchased. Allison was so comfortable with all of us. I loved the way she would work with each of us and our different cameras. Looking forward to taking Photo 2 and beyond. Now it is time to practice and experiment!!

I have loved photography since I was a kid. I’ve taken intro courses before but this was far and away the best one I’ve ever attended. Relevent information communicated in an appropriate way supplemented with one-on-one hands on support and practice. Fantastic! I will be signing up for more!

It was a great experience teacher and student-wise. I have taken classes at the main Showcase location before but this was the first class that was hands on. Shannon was great. Very friendly, very knowledgable, very approachable and offered us all to just email her whatever questions we might have. Im looking forward to taking more classes at the new Marietta location. Very thrilled they added this since its so much closer to home!

Couldnt be more pleased with my experience so far at ASoP! My instructor for 4 weeks was helpful, nice, and easy to understand. I was surprised at how affordable the classes and workshops are, especially after learning so much in Photo 1. I cant wait to take the next course!

I have been dabbling in photography for years, so Ive learned many things the hard way. I wish I had found the Atlanta School of Photography earlier! Ive taken a few longer classes and many one-off workshops in an effort to keep my skills sharp and my inspiration fresh. EVERY SINGLE CLASS has provided me with at the very least one amazing nugget (usually more!) that changes my thought process or workflow going forward. The instructors are amazing, and so easy to work with. I never feel dumb asking questions! Thank you to the great staff!

I was very pleased with the information and hands-on learning opportunities provided through the Atlanta School of Photography. The Photo Express 1 class laid a great foundation for me, as I look toward re-establishing a former photography hobby. Throughout the class, we were given opportunities to implement and try our newly learned skills, often with attentive one-on-one tutorials by the instructor. I was also particularly impressed with the professionalism and patience of the instructor as many class members fumbled through the learning process. A great experience!

Really impressed with this place! The Photo Express 1 class was really great - it was detailed, covered a lot, and yet presented in a way that was easy to understand and best of all remember. Looking forward to additional classes as they become available.

Just got done with the Portrait class and the Flash 2 class. Amanda Gardner is an amazing teacher. So willing to share her knowledge, full of energy and gave excellent feedback to improve my photography. I learned SO much and my photography definitely improved. I really enjoyed the Photo 1 class. I learned so much from day 1 and look forward to Photo 2 in a couple of weeks. If you are a beginner, I highly recommend this class to help you understand the basics of photography and to get you off of auto mode. Sarah is absolutely wonderful! She helped me set up a video tutorials for my law firm. Ocoee Whitewater Photography Workshop - Super knowledgeable instructor, great hands-on experience, and an excellent student-to-teacher ratio. Highly recommend being proficient in manual camera settings and navigating through your brand of cameras menus, plus have the proper lens, in order to get the most out of the workshop.

If you are curious about photography and want to explore, this is the best place in the Atlanta area to learn everything from A to Z. Small class sizes make it easy to learn and to ask questions. Its been a great resource for me to understand all the features of my SLR and to learn Lightroom photo management and editing.

Ive had a DSLR camera for about 2 years now and had been looking for a way to improve my photo taking and understand the camera better. I read the manual, but having someone walk me through what things mean and how to do them has gotten me excited about the possibilities of my future photos.

This was THE best meetup session I have ever attended! The models and venue have been a bucket list item of mine for a couple of years! The instructor was passionate about both photography and ballet. She worked very hard to help the students get all the bang for their buck they could get. I learned so much and would SO recommend this workshop. Only ONE thing I would request in future workshops is that the instructions about lens recommendations be specific. Many of the students brought multiple lenses, when only one was recommended by the instructor. We had to drag around heavy camera bags all afternoon (and it was hot that day). Kudos to the instructor and the fabulous dancers!

Allison Jarek is a phenomenal instructor! She has a gift for guiding her students to grow and develop their skills. She gives very constructive feedback and is incredibly thoughtful and helpful! Sara Keith does a wonderful job keeping the course offerings current and creating classes that students want! THANKS ASOP! You all ROCK!

I have taken both the Photo 1 and Photo 2 class and I plan on taking Photo 3. I have learned so much and Im so happy I can now use my DSLR with some knowledge! Each class is honestly enjoyable. I appreciate the step-by-step approach and teaching us how to use our cameras hands-on in class! The mini homework assignments are a great way to test what Ive learned after the class, as well as give me an opportunity to shoot subjects that I am interested in. Sharing it and getting critiques are a great way to further my learning. I feel very comfortable asking questions and I cant recommend this school enough!! After each session, there is also a field trip which allows you to go out in Atlanta and shoot some pictures.

I just finished my 3rd class at ASoP (have taken Photo 1 and 2, and now Photoshop 1). I love this place. All the staff are so friendly and extremely patient with millions of questions us students are constantly asking them. David has been my teacher twice now and hes the perfect teacher! Adjusts his pace to go with that of the class, and quick to answer any questions with a cheery, optimistic tone. They also do well in keeping the classes small, so that the teachers have time to give one-on-one attention when a student needs help. ASoP never fails!

Atlanta School of Photography is the finest photography school in Atlanta. They have courses and workshops for beginners and experienced photographers. The Travel Photography Workshop I recently attended was excellent. Ledra Woodlee the instructor for this workshop is very knowledgeable and experienced in photography, planning and running photography workshops and conducting presentations. She owns and manages “Natural Connections Photo Workshops”

I have taken several classes with ASoP. I went from newbie to professional photographer within 3 years. Hard work, investment, and AWESOME classes at ASoP is what got me there in my late 50s. Cant say enough good about them.

They have great connections everywhere and are able to bring you to amazing locations and sites for workshops. The models they bring in are also highly professional and competent. Their curriculum is very comprehensive and well balanced between theory and practice, and also between technical skills and artistic development. The owner and the teachers foster a friendly atmosphere where youre never afraid to be judged. They are very encouraging and they provide you with constructive cricticism to help you improve. Taking classes and workshops at ASOP has been a game changer in my photography journey. I am so sad that I am leaving Atlanta soon and that I wont be able to attend more classes and workshops at ASOP. Just completed a class in Macros and Closeups at Atlanta School of Photography. While I have been doing macros for 3+ years this class showed me some new tricks and reaffirmed that my skills are building in the right direction. This was 10th so class at ASOP and each and every one has been enlightening and fun.
