Our son has been enrolled at Northwoods since 20 months old. Within 6 months he noticeably had an increase in language skills, and began being potty trained. He also began taking better care of his toys at home and doesn’t like to leave a mess. I recommend Northwoods toddler program, our next child will start around 18 months.

What I appreciate the most about Montessori education is that it provides a consistent/time-tested methodology that parents can extend beyond the school hours. Northwoods is a great place for Montessori education with its experienced and caring staff. They have been through it all, together. Both our daughters (3 and 5) love it there and I couldn’t recommend it more!

You only need to step inside a classroom at Northwoods Montessori and listen to the gentle hum of young children working to know that this school is a special place. Because, as you observe, you notice that most of the children are working independently on material they chose themselves. Some children may be working together or you might see an older child helping a younger child. Were talking 3-6 year-olds here! No chaos. Just a warm, clean, happy environment. Of course this is all under the careful observation of a well-trained, experienced teacher/assistant duo. My son loves school and has benefited enormously in so many ways. Hes learning (without even realizing it) foundational concepts of reading, writing, math, science, geography, etc; practical life skills; organization; cleanliness; respect for other people, environment, and things. I could go on. But most importantly, he goes to school happy and comes home happy. This environment of freedom within boundaries is really beautiful, and every child deserves to learn this way!

Northwoods has been nothing short of an amazing experience for my 9 year old daughter! The one on one attention given to her by her teachers and the faculty here is unmatched, and can not be found at any other learning facility!Northwoods feels like home, its cozy, yet it still inspires learning and creativity. The teacher allows my daughter the opportunity to choose subjects that interest her, while also motivating her to spend time on subjects that challenge her. The school focuses on education, time management, grace and common curtesy, and social skills. Its a wonderful balance. I feel like the small learning environment is perfect! It allows the teacher to really observe and truly and guide my daughter. I would highly recommend this school to anyone!

Northwoods Montessori is the best decision weve made for our childrens development, education, and independence.The school is a warm and loving place where administration and teachers observe and guide children to explore their interests, be curious about the world around them, and display positive social behaviors with their peers.As a parent, Northwoods supports my efforts to raise empathetic children that think critically and accept new challenges. My two girls have had an amazing experience at this school. They started in Toddler community at 15 months old: when I first looked in to the school, I thought, What can you possibly teach a 15 month old? Let me tell you, the very first day they came home we could see the difference! They were so engaged in their learning. They are now both four and we continue to value this school. All the instructors are masters at working with children with long histories with the school and make my kids feel loved and cared for. Trust me, you just have to go and see the school in action!

This school is hidden gem. My sensitive child has such a delightful place to learn and grow. Hands down, the happiest and most peaceful preschool environment I have ever witnessed. The teachers and staff really love their work and all of the children are incredibly engaged in the classroom. I love the focus on being a kind human and getting excited about learning new things.

Stepping into a primary class at Northwoods for the first time, I was genuinely amazed by how calm, content, engaged, and captivated these young children were in the classroom environment, flowing from one activity to another with self-directed ease. I have two children enrolled in the full day primary program, and Montessori has impacted our family in so many ways. I am an adoring fan of the staff and the teacher is as good as it gets!!!!!

Northwoods Montessori has been the best start to our sons education. The environment was warm and friendly from start to finish. We started in the toddler community and just graduated from the 6th year program in June of 2017. It was a wonderful experience for us. The staff and parents were great. I highly recommend it.

Ok so its been a long time, but I was in the first class ever at Northwoods Montessori, way back in 1980. The school definitely set me on the course that would eventually lead to my current successes in life. I was a very bright, but very shy child, and this school really gave me the environment to allow me to achieve my fullest potential. I still have the fondest memories of my time there, nearly 40 years ago. Had I raised my own family in Atlanta, I would have certainly enrolled them at Northwoods Montessori.

One cannot imagine a more fertile nest for the most formative years of a young childs mind where the classes of the past reinforce the lessons they learn in the present and echo far into their future.Thank YOU, Family of Northwoods Montessori!

Of all the decisions we have discussed as parents, choosing the Montessori lifestyle has had the most significant effect on our sons development. He is thriving in an environment designed around a childs natural instincts to explore, wonder and learn.Now in his absorbent mind stage of development, we are noticing almost daily progress. At 3 years old our son is independent, handling his own daily routines. (We often joke that if Northwoods Montessori taught driving, he could probably get himself to and from school by now.) He is currently recognizing words and even small sentences (in cursive!) and counting to 20 or more in both English and Spanish.Its all so amazing and we truly believe these experiences are some of the major reasons why we are maximizing each moment of time we have together as a family.

After an initially positive experience, we watched the elementary side of the school (grades 1 to 6), slowly fall apart. The enrollment went from four classes to one combined class of 6 to 12 year olds. Our child got lost in the major transition and we had to pull him out due to a lack of quality instruction. Do not spend your money here.
